I have brought my both USA made fender guitars to long and McQuaid for a few else trical modes let me tell you what a disaster that was! The Luther just couldn't complete the project and I gave up after bringing it to 4 times wasting a ton of money and many hours. Lucky I found Lutherie Migneault and he completedy electronics in both guitars properly. He was very patient with me listened to what I wanted and completes it in no time! Now my Strat And Tele both sound wonderful just like I dreamed of! Thank you So much! I highly recommend him! Also no scratches on the guitar a real Plus if you ask me!

J'avais besoin d'une bolt pour mon jack 1/4 sur ma guitare pis il ma finalement offert de faire un tune up ce qui a fait et ma guitare est en excellente etat. Merci du service.

Bonne expérience pour ce qui est de faire un bon ajustement, ma Gibson reprend du coup un second souffle.

I've come a few times to Marc André's workshop for tune-ups and I am always very satisfied with the work. So glad to have him in the neighbourhood!

Marc-André a ouvert l'horizon des possibilités chez moi. Son atelier sur l'entretien et ajustements sur nos guitares est super bien monté et il a une approche pédagogique efficace. Il fait aussi d'excellentes guitares. Un travail haut de gamme. Je recommande à tous.

Lorsque je t’ai apporté ma vieille Yamaha récupérée sur Marketplace Marc-André, j’ignorais à quoi m’attendre. La touche, la finition des frettes, le nouveau sillet de pont, tout est parfait.

This review is from work done in 2021. I wish I could give a positive review as everybody was very nice, but unfortunately the result was less than I hoped for.

I brought in a MIM 2005 Strat with a maple fingerboard for a re-fret job. Although the re-fret job itself was ok, there was a lot of damage done to the poly finish on the fingerboard. I assume the fingerboard finish was cracked and flaked off during fret removal.

Luckily, this was a MIM and not a hugely valuable guitar, but it is one of my favourite players and surely disappointing that the damage was done. I can't imagine how I would have felt if it was a vintage Fender worth thousands. I can only guess that the person who worked on the guitar had no experience with maple fingerboards at all.

I ended up carefully sanding the neck myself to smooth it out where the poly was missing, had cracked or flaked off. I then oiled and polished the neck. It now has a bit of a worn relic look to it, which is cool, but not what I paid for.

Sorry this review is so late, but I recently spoke with another luthier who described the proper technique to re-fret a maple neck and told me that the work done on mine was not professional. He was horrified. I don't know if this reflects on all Lutherie Migneault's work, but I would definitely not recommend them for a re-fret job on a maple fingerboard.

I've only had 2 luthiers work on my instruments. Anton Wilfer in the 70s and still used his shop after his passing til the early 80s and now, 40 years later, as I started playing again in my retirement Marc-André. Brought him a used guitar I bought second hand and was procrastinating about getting it properly set up. It had dinged frets and quite a few uneven ones too and I use somewhat larger strings than that specified for this instrument. I asked him for a lowest action possible and he suggested a fret levelling, polishing as well as nut job for my larger strings and electronic components survey (he even saved my thomastiks I had just put on a few weeks ago) It now plays so well, like butter I told him). Only thing I regret is not having done this sooner. Definitely recommend this shop.

Je vois plein de commentaires positifs. Je crois que je vais prendre rendez vous pour ma guitare. Je l’ai ressortie du placard après x années. J’ai voulu changer les cordes toute seule…. Pas une bonne idée. Alors à très bientôt avec ma guitare
