I ran for 5 laps that I thought its 5km already. I like the breeze and the smell of the grass. Though there were construction in the playground, its not that noisy at all. I love this place!
Seems well taken care of. My grandfather took me here in the 1970's. Still well tended, and since it's a couple of blocks away from Queen Mary and other bigger streets, there aren't many weirdos hanging around. Mostly the elderly and children. The 129 bus terminus is on the south west corner of the park.
Nice little neighbourhood park with play areas for kids of different ages, sprinklers in the summer, places to play soccer, baseball, hockey, etc. And there is plenty of room to just sit and relax in the shade or sun. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bathrooms don't seem to reliably be open. This reflects a wider accessibility issue in our city, though, as bathrooms don't seem to be considered a vital need even though many folks deal with issues that require them to use the bathroom more frequently.
On another note, most of the people around here are pretty respectful about keeping their dogs on a leash, unlike some other spots where people let their dogs run wild and jump on people, including kids. We haven't really had this issue here. The park is also clean so it seems well maintained.
It's our go-to neighborhood park, simple but nice. The playground is quite nice, and the fountains are great during the summer. During the winter we enjoy the ice rink, as well as a small area for sliding.
Removing a couple stars because sadly the city does not maintain it well. The drinking water fountain has been defective for over 2 years, water is overflowing non-stop, leaking to a big mud puddle in sand (that obviously kids love playing in). It takes forever for the city to clean the park in spring, so the park is filthy for several weeks.
