Mae Sri Comptoir Thai

Not the Thai food you crave. Extremely bland. No flavor. No spices. Strange that it was somehow full in the restaurant…
Staff is nice so I’m being generous with the stars.

I really couldn't figure out how this restaurant averages four stars. The atmosphere was very nice. The people were friendly but there was no table service and you had to figure out your order and just go up to the counter and order it like you were at a take out place. As far as the food goes. There are no drinks available except for cold tea. The food is served on a piece of sea vegetable which had a strong taste the food. The food was glistening with oil. Small servings. It was adequate but underwhelming for the price point and the high rating it got from other people.

Very quaint, self-service Thai restaurant with delicious food. The waiter/waitress will bring you water and serve your food but you do your ordering and payment when you are ready up at the cash.

The food was delicious. We got the 'Sukhothai' and their Pad Thai and both were very tasty with lots of flavour. The only downside is the portion sizes were small in comparison to other Thai restaurants, especially with the former.

Their Thai black iced coffee was also very good, and the mango sticky rice, although again the portion was very small, was absolutely delicious.

I would definitely recommend Mae Sri to everyone!

J’ai commandé un pad sew sans sel et plein de poivre, immangeable. Le pad Thai était super sec… je ne recommande pas.

Honestly really really tasty dish for the price you are paying. The portion is small but nowadays food is more expensive. It doesn’t bother me too much at least. Tipping before meal is also a bit odd to me but I get that it’s the operating mode of the restaurant. Overall, would prefer a bigger portion. That’s the only criticism right now but I will come back to update later.

Edit: I would say that there is not a lot of staff in the restaurant. It is just one lady in the counter for the orders. It was a Wednesday lunch so perhaps that is one of the reason that there wasn’t a lot of staff. I can imagine that you could get ignored as people piles up. I will be coming back with family members in the future so we will see.

Delicious Thai food in a beautiful atmosphere! It gets busy at lunch time so get there early to get a good spot.large variety of dishes to choose from!

Great restaurant with amazing food taste, however, we ordered a takeout last Friday night. It took almost an hour to have it ready and the order was wrong. The meat portion given was small.

Don’t take out from the restaurant, just eat there.

Bon restaurant thaï comparé à la majorité. Se rapproche beaucoup plus de la cuisine authentique mais un peu plus salé et sucré. Les prix un peu élevé aussi je dirais.

Des plats Thaï authentiques et variés, une cuisine maison sur place ou à emporter! Un resto à essayer absolument!

Les plats sont très bons, l’endroit est sympathique et le service est de qualité. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Il n’y a pas meilleur thaï à Montréal.

Wish they had more dishes with fish or shrimp or seafood in general but other than that it was okay.

I went to this restaurant on a quiet Wednesday night with my girlfriend. When we got there there was only two other customers. Somehow, it took 25 minutes to have our food. In the meantime, the staff was casually talking.

We ordered the blanched seafood appetizers. It was basic to say the least. The squids were flavourless and rubbery. The shrimps were ok.

Minutes later, we received our main dish: a chicken Pad Thai and a Pad Sew. The rice noodles were all clumped together and the chicken was really dry.

All in all, this was such a meh experience. Got nothing against this establishment, but it just made for a boring meal.

It was a forgettable experience.

Came from Toronto and tried many authentic Thai restaurants in Toronto. To be honest, this restaurant is overrated. I was waiting for 30mins to get a table and was so excited because it was crowded and positive reviews. The Pad Thai was terrible. Sorry but i have to say terrible. The noodle was still raw and supper hard. My dish still had a few slide of chickens but my friend had absolutely nothing even a tofu. The portion was poor. I have no idea why people overrated this restaurant. Or maybe they have never really tried how is an authentic Thai restaurant. Poor Customers in here.

I’ve been living in Montreal forever and can’t believe I’ve never been to Mae Sri! One step inside the resto, I knew it was going to be good. Was greeted warmly in such good ambient. The specialty here are soups and the variety of soups can be overwhelming! So many to try! We placed our order and paid at the counter and waited patiently for our soups. Thai papaya salad was light and a good starter. Then the soups, we ordered the kuai tiao tom yum soup which was hit! Tasty broth and good amount of seafood and shrimps! The dry soup named baa mee moo soup hit the spot for me. Delicious! Desert was a mango pudding which we devoured. Really There are vegan options as well. Really enjoyed our lunch!

Cute place with delicious Thai food! We had their chicken pad Thai which was so flavourful and share a combo papaya salad. Really recommend this place

Friendly, efficient and valued customer service. They have a selection of vegetarian options and are famous for their tasty noodle soups. I opted for the pad Thai:)

This quaint little Thai restaurant is amazing for the food, the service and overall experience. The flavours were great, the service was prompt and polite and all the dishes were reasonably priced. 5 star recommendation for a quite, yet delightful dinner I had with my family.

Loved the food and ambience. Only downside was that there was a no alcohol. And we only find out when we sat down for dinner.

Was good to know some Irish connections too.

They used to serve the best Thai food in Montreal. But their food has decreased in quantity and quality. Take their signature Crispy pork for instance. Over and over I’ve been served rubbery pork fat meat pieces lately. Not really eatable.

A really amazing place to try out thai food. They have vegan options too and the service is quick, good and efficient. The staff is very loving and friendly. Definitely try the spring rolls, pad thai and their soups. Really awesome.
