If you're looking for a place that lets you know we don't need your business, this the place.
I went there with the express intent of purchasing a Tudor watch. After considering various mid range to top end watches, I landed on this make. The sales woman was unquestionably bothered by a few questions I had on delivery delays due to the fact the model I was interested in, was not in stock, which I was ready to wait for. The arrogance was a little much to take. I had been a regular buyer years ago and felt that for this type of purchase, this was the place to go, as there are a few places in town that do sell this make. This unfortunate attitude is nothing like I experienced in the past. And I don't plan to experience again. Your competition thanks you.

Le 6 octobre 2023 j’ai reçu l’appel de Irina et en courant je me suis présenté à la boutique Rolex. Mon expérience a été exceptionnelle. J'ai été chaleureusement accueilli par Irina, avec qui j'ai passé près d'une heure et demi. Café, eau, petit photoshoot avec Irina … le temps à passé très vite!:) Un milliard de mercis ne seraient suffisants pour témoigner ma gratitude envers Irina qui m’a permis de vivre une expérience unique. Grâce à cette femme, charmante et passionné par son métier, jai pu acquérir la Rolex de mes rêves! Ses précieux conseils et sa profonde expertise sur l'histoire et l'évolution de ces montres m'ont grandement éclairé. L’ensemble de l’équipe m’ont félicité pour ce grand moment, ils ont pris soin de moi et du bijoux comme personne d’autre n’aurai pu le faire. Je recommande vivement cette boutique, qui offre une atmosphère calme et apaisante, et je tiens à remercier toute l'équipe pour leur excellent service. Je garde en mémoire ce moment unique et espère pouvoir le renouveler prochainement!

Birks has become my go-to recommendation for all friends & acquaintances interested in getting into the world of watches or pens. After my many purchases at Birks, I'm confident anyone I encourage to give them a visit will get excellent service, which is crucial for me when people ask me for a recommendation.
My first serious visit was over two years ago when I entered the store to fulfill my curiosity about Tudor watches. That day, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Irina, who took the time to help me try several Tudors while telling me about the brand. She guided me through several watches until I tried a BB58B, which quickly transformed into my first purchase at Birks.
I returned to Birks a few months later to look at Rolexes. That day, I met Hubert, the store's manager. Even on a busy day, he took the time to sit with me to discuss the (new to me) world of Rolex and walk me through the catalogue. In what seemed to be quicker than a blink of an eye, I had finished my coffee, and we had moved our conversation from watches to cars and other hobbies. Hubert transformed the intimidating world of Rolex into a pleasant coffee conversation, after which I put my name on their list for a Rolex and a Tudor.
Two years passed, during which I visited the store several times, sometimes by myself to appreciate their displays, sometimes with a friend to experience a freshly released watch first-hand. The Birks experience remained constantly flawless.
Earlier this year, I started taking a lot of notes, pen & paper style. After realizing the benefits of having written notes of my important meetings, I decided it was time to elevate it up a notch. I had always been curious about Birk's Montblanc section, so I visited the store to learn more about their products. On that occasion, David assisted me, sharing a few laughs while trying a dozen pens and understanding the differences between ballpoint, roller ball and fountain. After battling the paradox of choice for some time, I asked David to put an order to Montblanc for the pen & notepad I had chosen. We stayed in touch via e-mail, and shortly after, I revisited the store to meet David and pick up my new favourite writing tool.
Now, for those of you still reading this nonsensically long review, remember I had put down my name for a Tudor? Well, about two months ago, I got the call! I still remember the butterfly-like feeling of unexpectedly seeing "Birks" on my phone's screen. Two hours after the call, I was at the store, where I was greeted by Ihab. Over the years, I've met countless watch enthusiasts. However, Ihab still managed to impress me with his level of knowledge and passion for the industry. He didn't have to sell me the watch; they knew I wanted it! Even then, Ihab took the time to chat over coffee, talking about the Tudor and its particularities, the history of Maison Birks Montreal building and their expansion over the years.
I bought two watches and a pen from Birks in over two years. During that time, I also got a ton of value for free: Lots of knowledge, great conversations and good coffee.
Will I come back to Birks? Do I recommend Birks? If anyone reads this far, you can undoubtedly guess the answer!

I have visited the store a few times and would like to thank Shanine for her great customer service. I got to try on different watches from Cartier, Rolex and Breitling and registered my interest for a couple of Rolex pieces. She answered all my questions and I walked out with a Wolf watch roll.

Strolled in after work as I have been at this hotel for four nights.
Walked through the store a coupe of times peering in cases
I was interested in two rings.
Five sales clerks standing around joking and chatting.
No one asked Me if I needed help.
Maybe because I had a backpack on and casual sandals. Who knows?

But I definitely like the Tiffany staff better and probably won’t buy anything at Birks ever.
I had to go grab a clerk. The price tags looked dirty and crumpled.

Just not impressed at all.

I have been a customer of Birks for over 20 years. My recent experience with the store is very disappointing. I purchased a few items online but wanted to make sure I was able to return them in the store, which is a 2-minute walk from my office to save the trouble of having to call customer service, wait forever, and a trip to drop off the package. On their website, it was clearly stated that all merchandise can be returned in-store with the exception of two brands. When I showed up at the store trying to return the items, I was first told they could not accept my return as they did not carry the brand in their store. When I showed them their own online policy, finally, they said they would do it. Then comes the big surprise! They could not process my return because I used PayPal! So after wasting 30 minutes of my time, I still had to call customer service to request a return, make another trip to FedEx…all of which I was trying to avoid to begin with! Finally, when I got the mailing label, guess where it’s going? Exactly the same address where I went! Now, 5 days later, I still have not heard back from Birks about my return. It’s a total waste of time and energy. For a luxury retailer like Birks, it is not at par with their competitors in terms of service and efficiency.

Magnifique boutique, magnifique choix de montres et bijoux, l'attitude suffisante de certains vendeurs peut-être vexant.

Je pense qu’il faut revoir la formation des conseillé lorsque l’on vends du luxe.

Je suis rentré dans cette boutique dans le but d’acheter une montre, et je suis ressortie sans achat tellement mon experience etait deplorable….

J’ai visité ce magasin le samedi 4 mars en debut pm et la boutique etais quasiment vide.
J’ai été acceulli par une conseillère de type asiatique qui ne souriez pas et qui n’etais pas sympatique ni avenante.

Je suis resté debout, alors que je venais voir plusieurs montres.

J’ai due resté peut etre un grand max de 5 minutes dans la boutique tellement je me sentais mal a l’aise avec elle.

La seul chose que j’ai retenue: « faites attention de ne pas rayer la montre en enlevant votre veste… »

Ces montres à ce prix ce rayent si facilement?

Et si vous m’auriez proposé de m’assoire, d’enlever ma veste, de me mettre a l’aise, de me proposer peut etre des modeles similaires à ce que je recherche, me poser des questions sur ce que j’aime…. Bref, faire votre job et consideré votre client, je serais certainement sortie avec un achat (j’etais rentré pour ça en tous cas, c’est uniquement le contact avec la conseillère qui m’en a dissuadé).

Bref, je vais aller depense mon argent ailleurs, dans de vrais boutiques oú les conseillers s’occupent de leurs clients.

Huge waste of time calling as they already did not contact me back. All I was looking for was an acknowledgment they had made a mistake, nothing more. Hugely disappointing service.

I was on the waiting list for a long time.started loosing hope of getting a Rolex until the Queen herself, Irina called me and made it happen! She has been nothing but great ever since we met there and has helped me in any purchases I ever had to make! Great experience, and she is THE person to go to. Irina at Birks- Rolex is simply fantastic! Best service I’ve had at the store in a long time. She took her time with us while shopping, and informed me for the appropriate time to service my watches, as well as the delays. If you need anything from Birks Irina is definitely the person to go see.

I will never buy from Birks. I was served by a pretentious french blondie who probably makes minimum wage yet makes you feel like they are doing you a huge favor serving you. Buddy, if I am to spend 20k on a watch and more on wedding rings, you're supposed to fight to make me feel special and show me or offer me solutions for what I am inquiring about.

I asked a the salesman at the Rolex counter if I could try on a watch and he responded rudely "pas maintenant attends". I was speaking to the customer next to me and he did not like that for some reason? I went to purchase a Tudor Watch and brought along my nephew to look for his first watch, as he’s about to graduate from university. The young salesperson, Jay Zhao, was very professional and considerate to my nephew. She even took the time to show him a couple of Rolex models.

To me, as a regular customer and my love for watches, it impacted me how the salesperson pushed the enveloppe further by introducing him to the world of watches. Definetly, she got herself a new customer.

Great staff. I get my watch serviced there and I often drop by looking for new Rolex releases. It’s such a shame that selfish creeps buy them only to resell them at a huge premium on the secondary market. In addition to turning people off to the brand, it’s a pathetic means of making money. But Birks is very professional and accommodating to the true enthusiast.

Very disappointed with their customer service. They don’t care about your satisfaction at all. We bought an engagement ring and a wedding band. I asked for an extra engagement ring box because my fiancé’s ring is a gift from my father and doesn’t have a box on it’s own. I just wanted an extra box to put my fiancé’s ring in on our wedding day. They refused to give me an extra box. I said I can pay for it and they still refuse saying one box per engagement ring. I was clearly upset and they don’t even care. We spent a lot of money at this “high end” store and they can’t even give us an extra box…A BOX! I still can’t believe it. This is beyond ridiculous. I could have bought a ring at a pawn shop and they would give me an extra box. Can’t believe I just had this experience at this store that I had always look up to as an prestigious store.

A Wonderful Birks Experience!
We recently went into Birks, to purchase our first Rolex for my Fiancé, and I have to say, it truly lives up to it's reputation. Joël, the Rolex retailer, was really exceptional, very knowledgeable and kind. Giving us the history of Rolex and our beautiful new piece, and taking the time to show us options and socialize. Le temps investi et l'expérience vécue étaient pour moi d'une toute aussi grande importance.l'énergie déployée n'a pu se conclure que par ma satisfaction!

This is the most elegant, beautiful jewellery store you will ever visit. Housed in a gorgeous historic building with high ceilings and wonderful architectural details, it is a calm, but stunning, place to swoon over their magnificent and varied collection of jewels of all kinds. I love it. You will too.

Have purchased various pieces from Maison Birks. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Michael on several occasions. He was always able to source whatever piece was of interest to me within a reasonable time frame. His expertise is simply flawless and its an absolute pleasure working with him. The store is stunning and their team is great. Given their meticulous attention to the customer, it has always been a pleasurable and seemless experience when visiting Maison Birks.

I've been a client for several years and Ihab looked after me during my most recent visit. He was professional, knowledgeable, patient and helped me pick out a beautiful Mother's Day gift for my wife. As for me, I'm hoping that I'll be receiving a call soon that my new watch has arrived. A wonderful experience!

Every time I walk in and out of this place I feel absolutely compelled to write a horrendously negative review. The pretentious approach from the staff is shocking. From the moment you walk in I'm routinely greeted with a "what do you want" before I'm allowed to proceed inside the store. The attitude from the door greeting to the sales reps is cold and curt, with an artificial air of superiority and judgement upon you. The prices inside are all completely inflated, the jewellery is nothing special, and the Rolex watch section is abysmal. When browsing the Rolex section I'm routinely coerced away by the Cartier rep who says, "no we can't get you a Rolex, but come and look at these Cartier watches that are better". "We will only sell you a Rolex if you buy a Cartier or some jewellery from us first" is what is told to me by the Cartier rep. Birks is an absolute embarrassment to our city as they don't treat local Montrealers with any respect. Hard pass on this store, I'll never buy anything here. Highly recommend you shop somewhere else!

I have been a repeat customer of this boutique for many years and I always greatly appreciate the service I receive. The whole team is always smiling and very welcoming. You can really tell that they have been a solid and close team for many years. I have always recommended this boutique to friends and family and will continue to do so for many years. I recommend Ihab and Hubert in particular for their expertise, patience and for the passion they show in their work.

Don't waste your time here, Birks is the worst. The canned response to negative reviews is also cringe with the "please call our 1-800 number". I'm happy to drive to Ontario to spend my money and receive proper service.

I have been a customer of Birks for many years. In the recent years I have visited the store in Montreal. I have made a few purchases and I always experienced great service from the sales staff and management. A special thanks to Mr. Mikhail for the help and attentive services. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

The item that I purchase does not resemble that of which shown on their website. So I tried to contact Birks. This was my experience.

4 days, 5 calls -> directed to voicemail after waiting 15 minutes, 4 voicemails and 4 emails and still no answer, no response, no nothing.

I will NEVER buy from Birks again. If this company goes under, it will be of no surprise to me.

My experience was more than amazing at this location, specially with Malek and Hubert.

My wife and myself got 2 watches here, we are first time customers at Birks. We got treated like royalty nothing less. Hubert the sale manager and Maria the sales lady, are very knowledgeable and provided us with an exceptional experience, we didn't want to leave lol. I visited many watch stores worldwide, but I really never had such a high service level, and high level of knowledge which is rare to find. You can feel how passionate they are about watches, and it is critical when you buy a timepiece that costs ten of thousands. I can't wait to do my next purchase here! Thank you!

Faut-il venir en limousine et en costume cravate pour être servis humainement? Même si vous aviez de jolis bijoux, vos personnels ne donnent pas du tout envie de magasiner dans votre boutique.

Amazing products, but AWFUL customer service and very rude staff! They act like you're wasting their time, and they cannot be bothered to answer your questions about the product! This happened twice already, in 2 different occasions and two different staff! Unbelievable!

Absolutely beautiful store/building. The woman that was selling my wife earrings was beyond helpful and showed many options. Very well mannered and respectful staff. Easy to buy from and as always amazing quality and presentation.

Top place for jewelry shopping. First, they are located in a landmark building which is truly beautiful. Second they have jewelry of very high quality. Finally, you can go for a drink in Restaurant Henri once you are done shopping. Sellers were very courteous and professional.

Je suis très déçu du service concernant les montres Rolex, ca doit faire 6mois passer que j’attends sur une « liste » la que je suis prête à faire l’achat après avoir eu des haut et des bas j’ai du patienter depuis 2011 pour finalement être près tout ca pour faire rire de moi et donner priorité au gens qui on déjà acheter là-bas, je comprend le principe mais c’est extrêmement insultant pour les gens qui on travailler fort pour faire l’achat en ce mettant un modèle en tête pour finir à économiser les sous pour ce modèle que je veut garder a vie et ne pas pouvoir!

I came at Birk's with a friend more than a month ago. I got very disappointed by the customer service of one older saleswoman. She came shouting from a distance "can i help you guys? Or you're just here to look? " while we were looking at watches. Yes we were casually dressed young adults in shorts and t shirt. We were just passing by as we were shopping on Ste Catherine. The way she was speaking to us was classless and overly rude. She was clearly not there to help. My friend had actually a budget of 20 000$ for a watch (she didn't know obviously:) ). Yes, I also asked her about jewelry evaluation services for set I inherited from my grandmother and she started speaking about reselling it to them as if I was a poor kid ready to sell familial heritage. So insulting. We had the chance of speaking to another very professional and polite salesman after but she totally broke the mood.

I recently bought Rolexes after visiting often. Fantastic Joel was the one who served me and we developed a rapport together and after a while he knew what I wanted and worked very hard to get me a piece I had wanted and I did not hesitate. I appreciate his honesty and his advice and opinion on Rolex and Cartier. But all the salespeople are very friendly and willing to help and I got to know them all by name. Birks has great service, a great payment plan and a wonderful selection and venue. Even though downtown Montreal has horrible parking I always make the time to visit them. Although Birks is a big company, the downtown Montreal location has a friendly family atmosphere. Great jewellery and watch store!

I just purchased a engagement ring from Birks downtown Montreal location. Ken was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to get the ring within the short timeframe I had. I am looking forward for my next purchase with you, thank you!

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've EVER had with any company, let alone a "luxury brand". Gave them my watch that was on warranty with the warranty certificate and got a quote 3 months later for a repair. They said they needed the warranty certificate to cover the cost and argued they did not have it. Then when they returned the watch, the warranty certificate was in the box. They apologized and sent it back. Got a call 3 MONTHS later, only to get a new quote, even more expensive than the first one. Trying to call them back and their phone isn't working. I've been waiting a year to get this watch fixed by them. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, EVER.

I wanted to buy a Rolex Submariner, they never replied to my email inquiries nor answered the phone after I tried several times. Terrible customer service!

LA plus huppée des bijouterie à Montréal et aussi la plus connue à l'extérieur du Québec. J'y ai acheté, il y a plusieurs années, un service de coutellerie en argent pour le 25e anniversaire de mariage de mes parents. Le service à la clientèle a été plus qu'à la hauteur, royal serait plus juste. Même regarder est éblouissant.

Personnel agréable et attentif à ma demande. Service professionnel hors pair. J’apprécie également le service réparation. Je recommande cette bijouterie car vous ne serez jamais déçu.

I went there on Febuary 6th, 2019 arround 12: 00 pm. Very good service. The service was amazing. Trust me you don't have to be well dressed to go there. I showed up with jogging pants and a sweater. I was also wearing a cap. I was well treated from when I entered from when I left. Thank you so so much. Shoutouts to Mr. Ken for helping. What else can I say.
