Le personnel est vraiment sympathique. On a appris plein de choses. Mieux vaut réserver et arriver à l'heure. Les places sont limitées.

It was a very interesting place to visit and to learn about it's history. The guides were very informative. We were disappointed with the one hour tour because we were 4 teachers and 62 students. We felt that it was rushed and we didn't have enough time to look at their artifacts. The guide was moving us along to quickly. I was told after the tour had finished that we could have had a 2 hour tour for that amount of students. We should have been informed about either a one or two hour tour before booking.

This was really really cool, I'm so glad I went! The tour was very informative and nice, the inside of the house was wonderfully preserved and curated. As a heads up you can't go inside without a guide, so plan your visit accordingly. However if you're early theres a lovely garden totally worth checking out!

Lieu historique interessant.

Delightful 17th century house turned into a museum. I learned much about how my ancestors lived and how Sister Marguerite Bougeoys helped some of the Filles du Roi prepare for their new lives. It was great in the winter, I would love to return in the spring to see the gardens.

It’s a lovely museum and definitely had a very informative guided tour. Guide is very very knowledgeable. This is one of my favourite attractions in Montreal.

Yes it is far away from other attractions, but it still worth it. And you can visit Irish monument rock on the way to the museum.

Must. Go. On. Tour. The guide that we had was amazing and entertaining! We got to see different rooms in the house and learnt about the history of the house as well as the people who lived in it. The guides were also super helpful in terms of giving us ideas of where to head to next for shopping.

History of Québec Education system speaks here. It’s the house of Marguerite Bourgeois where she started teaching to the girls for the first time in Québec. Many hospitals evidences, ancient agricultural tools and equipments, food freezing techniques, house heating techniques etc could be the best takeaway for the visitors. Most interesting, the bed had big pile of pillows almost a half of it’s size. It’s because the people during the period never used to sleep in laying positions due to the fear of dying. So, they used to sleep in sitting positions having a big support from their back.

I stumbled on this place while out walking. It is lovely with lots of interpretive signage. I must go back when the weather is nicer, I couldn't get close enough to some of the signs to read them. I didn't go in because I was carrying a bag of groceries.

Beautifully maintained historical 17th century house, guided visits, period clothing, terrace and bookstore where we can purchase books on Les Filles-du-Roy, the ancestral New France "mothers" of many French Canadians today

Excellent place to visit with family or friends, very good information provided by kind people dressed as the Nouvelle France era, they explain how normal people lived and how they survived or work at that time, you can even try with them to do some of the activities, the tour inside the house is very worthy be aware that one tour is in English and next is in French, you can easily spend 3 hours in the visit, there is no parking at the house but is very easy to find free parking in the near surroundings,
And for those that acquired their Canadian citizenship in the previous 12 months your entry might be free by presenting your passez-culturel.

A vital part of New France history: the Filles du Roi arrived here between 1663-73 under the protectorate of Louis XIV, king of France.

This was such a nice place for a history of the area. What a great reason to start the farm. Go find it and enjoy.

I greatly recommend visiting this place. The guides are really nice and know a lot about their subject. Emmanuelle was our guide for the English tour and she answered all of our questions with expertise and a good humor. Don't be discouraged by their French-only website!

The best museum I've visited in a long time. I happened to have a private tour, because I was the only visitor at that time. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Very interesting museum. If you want to know more about the New France, this is the place to go!

A great piece of Montreal history. There is a wonderful guided tour that explains how every bit of the house and gardens. You are very much sent into the past People are weaving and felting and such outside and you learn about their specific trade and how it worked in that era. I really appreciated the tour guide explaining each aspect of the house including the nuns, farmers, cellar, school, living room, etc.with lots of insightful information. There isn't a ton to do here but If you are in Montreal, I would definitely go here.
