Small store but with a surprisingly good selection I appreciated that they sold paints and other equipment as well

After having met them at a convention, I passed by their shop today to buy two model kits. Large variety of model kits, super approachable and knowledgeable staff, and overall just a great atmosphere. There are even a few tables set up for people to sit down and build their model kits. Will definitely come by again soon!

Really nice shop, with a large selection of Gunpla models. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Customer service was great. Lots of kits to choose from. Prices were reasonable. Customers sitting in the middle of the shop at the tables were a bit loud, swearing a lot. One of them was adverse to deodorant.

I went to them at Otakuthon this past weekend. Recently got back into Gunpla and the owners were super knowledgeable, friendly and had the kit I needed. All Gunpla hobbyists should see these guys thanks for the MK2 AEUG colours!

J'étais venu pour avoir des conseils sur un partie cassée sur mon premier modèle d'Eva 01 acheté au Japon. Et il m'a montré comment réparer mon erreur. Les gens présents sur place avaient tous l'air sympa. Merci beaucoup. Je reviendrais y chercher mes futurs model kit. L'entrée était un peu dure à trouver il faut aller au bon numéro 4055 dans la rue et descendre dans la galerie

Went there as a 1st timer go get some tools and looking at gunplas. Helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Will shop there in the future for sure:)

Found this gem recently! I’m very happy to have a place like this in Montreal. It’s a bit hidden in Atwater. You have to go in the basement of the 4055 building.
They have a lot of options and the prices are very good! I bought 2 gundams and I will definitely go back.
They’re very nice and are very knowledgeable. We had a nice chat!

Great selection and service both online and off, especially if you're looking for harder to find stuff. Owner is a gem that will go out of their way to help you. Definitely one of the best Gunpla stores.

Masamune is a sign that against all odds, the model building Hobby is doing quite well. Brick and mortar is still a viable business model? Masamune puts the “etail” in retail, a proper e-commerce store front where you can check what they’ve got in stock, order delivery or pick it up in store. Now this “store” is it truly a fully featured Gunpla studio? My fair assessment is the potential is there, the limitations are real, but there is so much authenticity, experience, capability in the team that ruins this place, a lot is possible.

Pros:
+ A hobby shop in Montreal that can even afford the floor space for tables? Is this real life?
+ Their tool selection is no joke. It’s on par with local shops you’d find in Japan.
+ The owners, John & Kaz are so deeply knowledgeable, socialized and openly share their passion but also tips with you, even as an experienced builder, there’s so much we learn from one another when we build together. I’m a big believer in that, and these fellows absolutely get it.
+ the concept of a studio, more than just a retail storefront is very compelling. This is a space where locals gather and build things. There’s something magical about that.

Cons:
- At time of writing, MSMN Studio is only open until 6. Even on Fridays. What’s the best solution to this? Hire a part timer? It’s unclear, but what is clear is spend one afternoon building in this place and you will learn what would have taken you months on your own, and made some friends at the same time. I think one day longer opening hours will be possible, and you will see more folks you know meeting up at Masamune on the regular for the legendary cozy build nights.
- It’s unclear to me based on the site content how ordering backordered or rare kits works. The “in stock” indicator on the web site doesn’t necessarily represent what you think it represents. Sometimes, a kit can be *typically* in stock, but currently sold out. If you see a kit you want, but it before you go to the shop! A kit I wanted was sold in the time it took me to get there lol

I really want to see this concept grow, and I hope we meet one day, I might be sanding away, but I love the idea of being a regular at an establishment like this one.

The friendliest staff with a great collection of Gunpla and hobby supplies - by far the best location in Montreal

Staff with a lot of knowledge of modelling and a store full of nice tools, paints and gunpla (Gundam *stuff* of which they have a lot). Decals, tools, little knobby pieces you can't find anywhere. Pretty cool. Located in the basement of 4500 Saint-Cath's. The building itself is pretty dreadfully maintained, but the shop itself is nice and clean and the staff friendly. Parking is near by on the street or in a payed parking attached to close by towers (Place Alexis Nihon or Westmount Square). Easy walk from Atwater metro.

Nice store, nice staff, incredibly friendly and willing to help with anything, even ordering a set they don't currently have in store- The best gunpla store without a single doubt!

A very unique hobby store in Montreal, where you can get gunpla models and all the tools to build them. They carry GodHand and Mr. Hobby, which are hard to find in a store. Great service and advice too.

Friendly and helpful staff, some of the best selections I've seen, though I haven't visited many similar places. If you pass by Montreal and are into model kits, a must visit. I'd categorize it as the best hidden gem in Montreal. The best and only option worth going in the whole province of Quebec.

Great staff, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. Real fans of Gunpla. Amazing selection of Bandai Gunpla models. They have all of the different grades including P-Bandai. They carry or can order the different types of models, from Pokemon, to Grendizer and more. They also have all of the supplies you need for the hobby, nippers, paint, files, bases, etc. They have space for you to build and paint the models in store. Plenty of parking within walking distance. They have a good up to date online shop and good quick shipping.

The Place we needed in Montreal for Gunplas and damn does this place kills it, staff is friendly and cool to talk to, made a couple of friends here and having fun building on place and socialize. Huge Selection of kits/tools/paints. The place is cozy and well placed in downtown.

They have japanese brands like Mr Hobby and rare P-Bandai models that we can hardly find anywhere else in the area. Their prices are great and actually better than what we can find online.

Easily the best Gunpla shop in Montreal dare I say Canada. Owners are very nice and friendly they have rare p-bandai kits and they restock frequently. More than enough to warrant five stars

Best gunpla store in Montreal. Good selection of kits and fair prices. The staff always takes time to reccomend products, answer questions, and even talk about building or painting techniques.

I placed an order with Masamune Studio last week (Wednesday) and I received it today (Monday). So, kudos for getting my order out quickly. Prices are good, better than several other hobby websites (especially with exclusive/limited kits) you're not going to get gouged. Carries a good selection of Japanese hobby supplies like Mr. Hobby, HiQ Parts, etc. The website is modern, fast and easy to navigate. An excellent option of you live in Canada. I will be giving them my business again.
