I feel like I’m at a tea renegade mastermind’s lair, being served familiar teas with different tones of flavours, home brewed white tea from exotic locations. It is a special experience in the city, I had the matcha avocado, traditional matcha and got served white tea in the house and some fresh date and peanut butter snacks for iron since matcha inhibits iron intake. Really nice owner

The owner made me really uncomfortable. He kept asking my friend questions because she was Chinese. And he eventually asked her to take a picture with her and to add her on social media which was completely out of line. I would recommend using Hello Talk if you want to make friends from another country and leave your customers to enjoy their experience minding their own business.

Otherwise the place was nice, and the drinks were interesting, but I wish the owner had kept a professional attitude towards my friend and myself.

Toujours un plaisir d’arrêter voir Nestor, un passionné du Matcha et des thés. Ce genre d’endroit est un PLUS à ma vie de quartier. C’est pour moi un incontournable du Plateau Mont-Royal.

J’adore cet endroit. Des nouvelles découvertes à chaque fois, thé, matcha. Nestor le propriétaire est passionné et nous le transmet avec sa touche d’humour. Je recommande ce petit bijou de la rue Rachel.

I've been coming to this place for years! Great atmospheric location to doodle for hours or read a book (remember that? !) while drinking probably the best matcha in town. The owner loves the art of tea and is a walking encyclopedia on the subject, always keep pushing the envelope on flavors and taste concepts, simply roll the dice and let him server you awesomeness.

Loved this place! The owner was so friendly and knowledgeable about tea. I loved hearing his story and it was clear that he was passionate about tea. The drinks were also absolutely delicious! The owner let us try the drinks before we ordered, making our money much more well spent! I appreciate how it was made of organic ingredients and was sweetened with dates. This place wasn't part of our itinerary in Montreal but definitely became one of my highlights when travelling here!

Came across this super cute matcha/tea shop. Greeting by the most down to earth person, owner, with some trials of different types of matcha/teas from the menu. Prices are really reasonable, given the effort and quality of the ingredients put in. Not only is he the sweetest but really talented painter. Can’t wait to come back for the unique experience. Definitely a MUST.

We walked in thinking this was any other tea shop/cafe, but the service and overall experience was extraordinary. We were offered a tasting of all the available drinks and each one was delicious. The drink menu is very unique with reasonable prices and the drinks are fresh. The overall atmosphere is calm and relaxing. No laptops (wifi) on weekends so bring a book or good company!

The tea was amazing, the conversation was great, and the atmosphere is as welcoming as you can imagine. Nestor is truly passionate about his craft and always makes and shares new creations. My absolute go-to for a chill tea spot and also for loose leaf tea! 10

This place is a unique gem!
The owner, is very dedicated and uncompromising when it comes to the quality and authenticity of his tea experience.
He also paints beautiful water colours for purchase. I have them hanging in my office (next to my teas).

Absolutely love the owner’s avid love for matcha. He makes all of his drinks and snacks from scratch, and everything tastes fabulous. Would highly recommend!

Love this place! What an experience! Nestor is passionate about his tea and very knowledgeable. All the teas are made in-house with organic ingredients. Best "matcha latte" in Montreal! The sesame black tea is also incredible!

I only wish the Sesamatcha and Smootcha were caffeine-free so I could drink them all day in place of water.

Incredible find & highlight of my visit to Montreal. Its an artist oasis, and not only you get to enjoy the most unique tea blends but you get to hear the story behind each one of them. Best experience in a while. Nestor made us feel like we are visiting a friend. He is an amazing storyteller. I have a whole new appreciation for tea. Highly recommend.

Aysar the owner is passionate and friendly. The tea is really good, different from the traditional one. There are many unique drinks with the owner’s touch! We have enjoyed this a lot and it was the highlight of the day. Eugene and Aladeen.

I have never been to a place like this, and it’s amazing! The owner is very kind, generous, and passionate about the drinks! They are definitely on the pricy side, but I think well worth it. There’s quite a bit of seating and the store has a relaxing atmosphere with cool decor. AND you get a free tea tasting experience just for being there! It’s amazing!

Stopped by again today (2 days later hehe) on our way back home. The almond drink (my friends favourite) today had a fruit he was allergic to, and the owner came up with a new blend on the spot! It was delicious:)

Super super nice place with so kind and unique artistic owner. Nestor loves his place and this lovely vibration can be felt in his place. MUST TRY! Try to ask him all details about Matcha, he knows a lot about what he is doing and visiting this place is like a cultural visit where I learned alot about TEA.

Great unique tea-based drinks. The owner will offer you samples and help you choose what to order. My favorite is the banana one which sounds weird but delicious!

What a gem! I just wanted a matcha latte and instead I got a tea tasting curated by the owner! @ Matcha is about as genuine and respectable as a small business can get. You can tell the owner truly has a passion for tea that he wants to share with everybody that comes in. Instead of that latte what I got was one of his bespoke matcha creations. They're all made fresh by him with things like homemade pumpkin seed milk, black sesame seeds, and bitter almond. We tasted all 6 he had available that day and each one was beautiful and unique. We ended up settling on the matcharetto: a matcha drink made with bitter almonds that tasted like amaretto or marzipan. It was creamy but also light and refreshing. Everything had that quality of tasting rich and decadent while at the same time feeling light and healthy. These are masterfully crafted beverages! The matcha concoctions come in either liter or half liter bottles that are returnable for a $2 deposit. We also bought some loose leaf tea to take home which was a custom blend that he had prepared cold brew style that was bright and extremely refreshing. I couldn't have been more delighted to have happened upon this place. Go visit at @ Matcha and experience the joy of tea that is at the center of this experience!

I was looking for a nice coffee shop to wait out the rain and fell on this gem. The owner received me so warmly and offered me to try the whole menu. The ambiance was really nice and as someone who enjoys tea, all of the drinks were excellent. I ended up having the Teamonade. I enjoyed it a ton. You can see that the owner is a very nice person, not only to his customers but to his neighbors as well. I would really recommend this teashop.

This is my first ever review I write in my life.
I stopped by this place with my friends during our montreal trip, and had the most enjoyable experience here so far. If I lived here, I would want to come here every day. The owner was really friendly and passionate. I would definitely revisit the area just to come here. One regret I have is that we didn’t get to take a photo of/with him to remember this wonderful experience.

What a beautiful concept. As soon as I entered, I was welcomed and my hands were spritzed with an amazing essential oil blend. Then I was offered testers, all of which were delicious. I settled in the Smoothcha heated up. Very blissful and zen place. A must for matcha lovers.

This is not just a tea shop, it is an experience! From the moment you walk in nestor treats you as if you are in his home.the tea, is incredible and the flavours are so unique and refreshing.it’s like nothing i have ever tasted before.you could easily spend hours here.everyone should go here if they’re looking for amazing tea and some time to disconnect.

A true skeptic, I really thought I would be the first person to not rate this place with 5 stars.

I really went in thinking wow there’s no way a place could be a perfect 5, not a single less-than-stellar review.

I really was wrong!

We walked in and Nestor asked us if it was our first time. Yes. Then he deftly puts two small aluminum cups on the counter and retrieves from a small refrigerator a bottle of liquid. A potion, if you will. And he has us sample it. And then he does this again, and again, over and over, each time explaining what goes into the drink. Then we choose one for each of us, take off our shoes, and head to the zen table, where we proceed to drink from our potions while reading from our books.

It’s worth noting that the zen atmosphere of the place isn’t static. When we’d just entered, two people were leaving who had a much more lively energy about them. It seemed that the space we were walking into was one that encouraged every individual person’s vibe to just flow and mix. Later, another person walked in and brought more of a studious, focused vibe with them. For our part we were just there to relax.

It really was an amazing, relaxing experience. We’d planned to come back before our stay in Montréal was over, though we ran out of time. Still, if ever I’m in town again, I will be coming here.

Vraiment une expérience a part entière! The place to be pour les fans de matcha et pour les non fan pour changer d avis! Il y en a pour tous les goûts. La 1 ere expérience avec mon mari était top. J y ai amené un ami c était encore super! Pour sur un endroit top où aller régulièrement pour les produits naturels au goût extra mais aussi pour le service! Le monsieur avec son joli chapeau est passionné par son métier ses ingrédients. En bonus un endroit cooconing et monsieur très commerçant. Franchement la dégustation de toutes les boissons vaut le coup! Merci vraiment

Had a wonderful time sampling all of the owner's delightful and delicious concoctions~ He brought out many samples for us to try, and it was almost impossible to pick a favorite to take home. The houjicha/sesame pudding was fantastic too, so warm and hearty. Will definitely return:)

Très beau salon de thé, chaleureux et à l'ambiance sereine et authentique. Un petit havre de paix, où il est possible de déguster diverses sortes de thés matcha faits maison et de grande qualité. L'accueil est toujours amical et l'expérience de la dégustation est à chaque fois un moment de découverte pour les papilles et de voyage pour l’imagination. Un endroit à connaître absolument pour les amoureux du thé et/ou de la culture japonaise.

This was the first place I visited in Canada straight out of the airport and it was such a wonderful experience! The owner was so so SO kind and helped me to a taste test of all his drinks. Highly recommend the sesamatcha!
