Love the vibe of the space and friendly nature of our server, Adrienne! Food and Cocktail selection was Amazing! A great spot for sure if you’re a native. However, as an English speaking patron, I was very aware the Host/Maitre ‘d, was annoyed having to deal with my broken French and was brisk and rude. Excusez moi’ - I tried!

Une escalope de veau parmigiana presque brûlée, viande trop cuite et dure, sauce insuffisante et trop de fromage, trop gratiné, brûlé par endroit qui donne un résultat vraiment très décevant. Ils nous ont offert le dessert qui était très médiocre. 353$ plus tard parce qu’ils nous ont fait payé les escalopes et le pire c’est que ces assiettes sont sortis de la cuisine, nous sommes partis en nous disant que le vin était très bon mais qu’ils ne nous verraient plus.

Quelle belle soirée, on a tellement aimé notre bouffe, avec les excellentes recommandations de Julia qui a contribué à rendre notre soirée inoubliable. Je me suis gâtée, comme c'était la saison, une petite burrata garnie d'homard, pourquoi pas. Ne manquez pas la planche de charcuteries non plus!

Wow! Mon nouveau restaurant préféré. Service extraordinaire, accueil et tout le reste. Burratta, carpaccio, pâtes, joue de boeuf, tout était succulent. Superbe soirée?

Decent Italian food and service. Not the cream of the crop but very yummy. We were able to get a table without any issues. Nice atmosphere but crowded.

Nous sommes allés souper en famille avec mes parents pour un souper de Noël. Nous avions réservé pour le premier service et dès notre arrivée nous avons été bien accueillis. Notre serveur Louis-Philippe était très courtois et professionnel, nous avons remarqué que le personnel travaillait vraiment en équipe ce qui a contribué à un service impeccable! Nous avons également eu un électron libre du nom de Samson qui nous a bien fait rire et a contribué à une expérience encore plus personnalisée. Chapeau à l’équipe nous n’avons que des bons mots et que dire de la nourriture qui est arrivée chaude et à la hauteur de nos attentes! Très bon rapport qualité prix! Et si vous aimez les p’tit drink plutôt sucré goûtez à la réalisation pêche et fruit de la passion créé par une employée.
Merci à toute l’équipe le limoncello et la grapa du grand chef étaient la cerise pour clore la soirée!

Chic & modern dinner spot in Old Quebec. Was told to order all the food at once because the kitchen gets super busy. We enjoyed everything we had.

Its more of an american italian restaurant than a real italian restaurant. In Italy, its unimaginable to serve meatballs pasta, or Alfredo. They are american dishes. Also, the pizza margherita is made with bocconcini cheese instead of mozarella di buffala, which is not accurate. The bread offered also is quite bland, and the pasta is overcooked, it wasnt served al dente, which is how it should be.

Nourriture excellente, dommage que le service ne ait pas été a la hauteur, autant dans l'accueil assez froid, que les suggestions de la carte et le fait qu'on ait changé de serveur en cours de repas ce qui fait qu'on ne s'occupait plus de nous. Nous avons du nous lever pour commander les desserts car personne ne venait nous voir.
Fort dommage car la qualité de la bouffe est vraiment excellente!

Stumbled upon this Italian large restaurant for lunch one cold day in December. Very friendly staff. Food was very good. Wine was good too - large menu and wine selection. If you like Italian food - this was a great choice.

It was a very beautiful place with the best customer service i ever had. The food were amazing and everything was fast. I would come back anytime.

Bustling, trendy little Italian eatery with an EDM vibe! This was the first place I ate at after I got checked into my hotel. I've never been to Quebec before and luckily, this place (one of the only ones open after 9pm) was right across the street!

Most of the staff had this "I'm too busy to talk to a solo old lady who isn't dressed in trendy clothes" attitude while they busied themselves chatting and laughing with other, younger guests but my server was an absolute gem and I adored her! I think her name was Maggie Soleil but I might not have it exactly right. Anyway, I loved her!

My food? Stuffed manicotti and a side of bread with a glass of cabernet - delicious. And tiramisu to go - also delicious when I ate it later that evening. Price? Just under $70 CAD - a little pricey but not terrible!

Accueil chaleureux, personnel sympathique, repas exceptionnel, conseil vin impeccable, petit shooter en cadeau, expérience irréprochable. On y retournera assurément.

J'adore, nous passons toujours d'agréables moments. Le repas, l’ambiance et le service est extraordinaire.

Service and atmosphere were decent, food average at best. Bruschetta was overdone, almost black on edges, and not much flavor despite nice presentation. Seafood linguine had quite a bit of seafood in proportion to linguine but portion tiny for the price. Worth a trip, once.

Salmon, agnelotti and carpaccio were delicious. Accompanied by good wines and served by friendly staff. Very good place to enjoy Italian cuisine in this beautiful city.

Même si on vous dit que ce n’est que sur réservation et complet, prenez la chance tout comme nous et vous serez ravis

Le service est une catastrophe: 15 minutes d’attente devant le restaurant pour s’entendre dire par un « maitre d’hotel » présomptueux qu’il ne lui restait plus de tables alors que nous en voyions plein de libres. Parce que nous avions 2 enfants sans doute s’est il dit que nous étions une mauvaise affaire? Tant pis pour lui, nous nous sommes rabattus sur un gastro!

Thank you Matto Team and Rocco for fantastic lunch and supper the same day! We were so satisfied with lunch that we decided to not to explore and take a risk elsewhere for supper. And we were right! For reviewers - Great selection of wine, great food with reasonable price. We will come back with a great pleasure. And we will make a reservation before:) just in case of the rain.that lucky us, it missed Quebec City that night! So see you soon!

Great food, good ambiance but way too much attitude from the manager. The staff was hard working and deserves kudos.

First time visited this place and had amazing time there. It was pretty busy as it was a long weekend so got the table after half hr. Pizza was delicious and pasta too. Being vegetarian didn’t had a lot of options but everything was still good. Bruschetta was also amazing.

Excellent Italian food.in this largely French province. Wine and cocktail options are also very good. Service was top notch and reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends! Even so you may be reading at the bar which they inform you in advance. But it's worth the wait!

Our experience began with the manager greeting us chewing gum and telling us the restaurant wasn’t yet opened, did not make us feel welcome at all and had zero class then the waitress pouring ice water all over my lap, soaking my dress and my feet and as I gasped her response was well at least it wasn’t wine or oil. Then I got my pizza undercooked and bland and worst of all it was filthy underneath which made my plate black, when I told our waiter someone came out and said the ovens were clean it was the flour they put underneath that was dirty…. Excuse me….
and they forgot to put anchovies on my sister’s pizza, my son’s and niece’s pepperoni had 4 pepperonis on it and undercooked as well,
What a horrible experience, word to the owner, choose your employees wisely, this restaurant had a good reputation and it’s slowly diminishing, what a shame.

Sans contredit l’un des meilleurs restaurants de Quebec: de la carte des vins au souper, en passant par le service, tout était extraordinaire!

Service was extremely horrible, especially the server who didn’t give us any sorts of communication or service. When we wanted to get the bill, he literally did not give us the bill but was just chilling. And when I made it clear that I wanted the bill once again, he just put the debit machine on the table without saying anything… what kind of customer service was this? If I could i would have given negative stars, in addition, I wouldn’t have given 15% service charge as we did not receive any kinds of service. We only received rudeness and poor manner. Very disappointed!

When staying at the hotel, keep in mind any room service order will not be sent until the restaurant closes at 10: 30pm because as they said when calling for an update “we have to serve the people in the restaurant first. ” So two hours later here we are.waiting for dinner as there’s no tables available anymore for dinner downstairs.

Horribly horrific. My family and I were mortified with the service… racist manager and waiters… they clearly show you how much they HATE English speaking people. They made various errors, first they poured ice cold water on my mother and told us “it’s not a big deal it’s just water it’ll dry. It’s not like it’s oil”. Ridiculous behaviour. Than they give us filthy pizza. They obviously don’t clean they’re ovens. All our pizza was unsalted and undercooked. Then they didn’t bring us the wine we asked or with our meal and they don’t follow what is written on their menu. It should be ILLEGAL to say that this is an “Italian restaurant”. The food was beyond disgusting. We chose this restaurant because the owner is Sicilian and we are a Sicilian family and let me tell you, this is not authentic at all. I wouldn’t even give it 1 star, that’s how terrible our experience was.

Monsieur le propriétaire, nous sommes des résidents du vieux Québec et étions des habitués de votre restaurant avant la pandémie….
Malheureusement ce soir nous avons constaté que le resto décline pour ce qui est du service qui devient cavalier et sans classe! Le directeur serait mieux dans un Pub que dans un resto 4 étoiles. Il s’adresse aux gens comme s’il les connaissait, en fait trop pour paraître sympathique….
Un gros parasol a manqué de tomber sur un client et j’ai crié soudainement par crainte que mon conjoint le reçoive sur la tête, ce même directeur est sorti rapidement et a dit en me regardant « c’est qui la sirène là?  »….
Très dommage mais votre restaurant donnait auparavant l’impression d’être dans un 4 étoile en Italie (où je suis allée 2 fois) et on se retrouve tout à coup dans un vulgaire Pub.
Heureusement que nous avons bien mangé mais nous n’y retournerons pas à moins de constater que l’équipe a été changée.

Great dinner at Matto located in Hotel 71 in Quebec City. Perfect Mediterranean dishes, great drinks, and service in a warm atmosphere, ideal for a celebration.

Welcoming stuff, we were 3 people and we went late on Sunday night, the manager and his tame made our night we enjoyed food drinks everything. Highly recommend

We had a reservation for 5: 30 on 5/28/22. When we got there we were told that they didn’t have a reservation for us. Our concierge had made and confirmed it. We were blatantly lied to. Not a single table was in use. No patrons were there but the staff refused us. Do not waste your time here. Plenty of very good restaurants in the area. I’ve eaten in 5 star Michelin around the world. I don’t need attitude and poor business sense like this.

The food was excellent, the rucula salad with parmesan & prosciutto was out of this world.
Great place to eat for couples. The tiramisu was delicious.
Our server Simon was very attentive and gave us great service. All the servers work as a team.
Is a place to go back to. Very happy with our experience.

My girlfriend and her mom experienced sheer discrimination there yesterday. According to them, their servers were deliberately ignoring them. They didn’t get the pre-meal bread (while each and every other tables were obviously getting the bread), they weren’t asked about whether they need pepper or parmesan (others were asked every single time), the servers even skipped them for water refills. I simply cannot believe the way they were treated at this place, definitely ruined their trip. My girlfriend told me that she did leave a 15% tip, that’s a shame because those servers certainly don’t deserve any tip for that kind of service they offered.

A twinky bar tender at the drag show recommended so we came along. Were met by the owner who charmed us by his frank admission of needing to be in the kitchen that night. Excellent service and fresh. In house ravioli and the seafood pasta were perfect. Value for money.

The bruschetta was mediocre, the tomatoes were not fresh. Linguine seafood was not good, they obviously used frozen seafood and spaghetti carbonara was so salty and plastic-y!

Best meal we have had in Quebec! Our waiter Alain made the meal even better. He was knowledgeable and accommodating and despite being very busy took his time to meet all of our needs. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance. Highly recommend!

Fabulous resturant. Incredible ambiance.food is fantastic and the service primo. 28 c in the resturant is absolutely unprofessional. No fans no windows. Very uncomfortable.excellent resturant in the fall when the temperature is moderate. I am here now with my wife and another couple.waited 6 months for this reservation.torn the a/c on!
