MELK Café Monkland

Love my Vanilla Latte from here, usually I would go for a savoury scone (Cheddar, Onion and Cumin). But recently tried the berry and oranges which was pretty good too. I would say it is bit on the pricey side- I ended up spending like $12 for a Small latte and a scone.

I was lucky to get a seat and stayed for a few hours because the place is nice. It was SO busy the ENTIRE time. Just nonstop customers, tables would open but only for a moment before someone swooped in to take it. It is obviously very popular. The staff is fantastically friendly and the drinks are good. Pumpkin Spice Latte was lovely and was the regular latte. The Dulce de Lèche latte was mildly sweet. The place is comfortable, though a bit noisy with music and so many people coming in and out. More of a bustling cafe vibe than a calm, quiet space.

This is a great little Coffee Spot in the mountain village. The staff are friendly and the coffee is strong. There is a small selection of yummy baked goods: scones, muffins etc. It can get busy and seating can be a premium given the people on their computers nursing their coffee for am hour or more.

I love this place, but I wish the staff was friendlier. Every time I try to start a conversation, it goes flat. Regardless of how busy the place is. The staff at Mercanti down the street are much friendlier and seem to enjoy interacting with customers a lot more.

Très bon latte à la vanille (avec un vrai goût de café!) et les pâtisseries sont excellentes! Les prix des cafés sont un peu élevés néanmoins. L'endroit est très sympa pour y étudier.

L'un des meilleurs cafés dans Montréal sans hésiter, les employés sont toujours super gentils et l'ambiance du café est si accueillant! J'adore y étudier ou aller relaxer! <3

It was my first visit here and it was incredibly crowded. All seats full and a line to the door. A delivery person was trying to do their job but their was no room so it was constant squeezing and shuffling side to side to let them go in and out. It was a very long wait. The dulce de leche latte I ordered was ok but not very flavourful at all and quite pricey for the size. Service was lovely though and everyone working there seemed very nice so I'd consider going back and trying something else but definitely not during the morning again.

Baristas poured lattes with tempered ferocity. Coffee balanced its acidity, sweetness and pushed the roastiness in the finish. Quite nice. But extra points for the playlist that captured the soulful beauty of this place, or perhaps that just resonated with my heart. A perfect accoutrement.

They get 5 stars for the small latte. I didn't try anything else but.wow.that small latte was perfect

This is my absolute favourite coffee shop. I had the iced mocha for the first time today (dark chocolate) and I was so sad when it was over

Amazing!

Location is super easy to get to (for me, at least), staff is super friendly, even when it's busy, and the best part is the coffee which is excellent.

I've had their filter coffee on a couple of occasions and it has been consistently delicious, thus far. My wife quite enjoys their iced lattes.

Also would recommend the jalapeno cheddar scones - they are very good!

Skip the vegan brownie, though. Some things require dairy, in my opinion.

Sunday afternoon, 3: 30pm, a beautiful day. I am glad I picked Melk Café for that special moment with my daughter and our friend Mariam: she is relocating to the Continent with her family, and Melk's Lemon/Honey/Ginger tisane, with a sprinkle of Cinnamon, added the perfect final touch to a fond memory on Monkland Avenue. A dreamy cuppa, smooth, comforting, and in those days of social distancing, it truly felt like a warm Fall hug.

Great Montreal coffee place. Coffee is good quality and tastes great. Also has some doughnuts and other drinks.

Great strong coffee, love the macadamia nut milk especially. Lovely service, they are very quick, and take card. Inside is chic but not too comphy (all hard seating) and they have wifi as well. Best coffee in this area on Monkland. (Mercanti is my other favourite)

I thoroughly enjoy this café bar on Monkland.
Cordial service and nice vibes. Great coffee, delicious pastries, small fridge with snacks & beverages (yogurt, chia pudding, kombucha, Kiju juices, etc) and even some meals to go such as salad bowl. They also sell Parallel and Detour coffees as well as brewing goodies (accessories, KeepCups, Chemex, Barista Alternative Milks, etc.)

Great place to read a book/mag, meetup with friends and even work on your latptop.

There is no wifi: it has its upside and downside. Upside being that seating becomes available within a reasonable timeframe! Downside: you’ll have to Hot-Spot? No biggy!

Great place to read or work. Their coffee and baked goods are amazing. They don't have wifi anymore which makes it nice and quiet but can be anoying if trying to find somewhere to work on a computer.

Best vanilla latte around! Really, just great coffee on the whole. Nicely balanced espresso and fun snacks (though I found the filter coffee to be way too heavy and overpowering). Super crowded any time of day, so have a plan B if you're looking to sit down and chat.

Fast and fresh. Great choice of coffees and desserts. Good views, good seating, and nice people. Enjoy!

J’aime beaucoup l’endroit et le personnel. Mais oh surprise, j’apprends aujourd’hui qu’ils n’offrent plus de wifi.j’y venais pour travailler.c’est maintenant impossible pour moi. J’en suis triste, je vais devoir me trouver un autre café.

So if you're on monkland you got a choice in two blocks of Starbucks second cup and Melk. Don't even think about it go right to melk way better coffee nice service and price properly

Excellent selection of coffees offered and the layout of the seating area is perfect for work+study (no WiFi though, which has both its benefits and downsides - definitely a positive for me though, it's the main reason why I come here).

Dropped a star because the baristas can be inconsistent in the way they prepare drinks. If I wanted an espresso without crema I'd go to McDonald's and spend 2 bucks instead of 4.
