Lovely doctor but disappointing service!

So, I had a severe eye infection and was looking for an emergency appointment at their clinic. They listened to me patiently and gave me an earliest appointment.

During my first visit, the receptionists were very kind and helped me with everything, doctor was super good. He prescribed me 2 eye drops - 1 from their clinic and another from pharmacy. This was okay, his medicine worked and I started feeling better. Possibly didn’t have a need to go again for a follow up. THEY asked me to come again after 4 days without letting me know that the next visit will also be paid (at other places you don’t have to pay again if you are visiting them for a follow up within a few days). On the 4th day, my infection is 90 percent gone but still visiting them since they asked and paying $80 AGAIN for eye examination (which was not even a proper one). Again doctor suggested an eye mask, 1 drop and cotton pad for $200 which is apparently not available outside (marketing tactics) The receptionist didn’t tell me that these things are not covered under the insurance.
So, I ended up paying close to $300 for NOTHING.

The doctor is good but you might get fooled by the receptionists.
So I would suggest you to be clear while communicating with the receptionist. And I believe any medicine is available online these days.

This doctor is phenomenal. He's warm, friendly, extremely educated, and the eye exam itself was most thorough one I ever had. He takes his time and explains everything. His assistant and receptionist were so sweet as well. I will 100% recommend to family and friends. Amazing clinic and beyond happy with the experience! Thank you Dr Maroun

Complete waste of money. Paid over 200$ for drops, eye makeup remover pads (lubricant for eyes) and my problem is still there. Keep looking for a better optometrist

My son has been wearing glasses since he was 2 years old. I've tried all the big boxed stores and a few smaller boutiques over the years. The boutique at Mes Yeux Tes Yeux, owned by Alexandra and Robert is excellent. They are skilled at fitting glasses for children's faces and the selection for kids glasses is well priced and kid tested. Best customer experience by far.

Sold me Ray ban frames for 250$ and a week later I'm browsing the internet and find out the exact same model directly on ray ban's website for 150$ AT FULL PRICE NO DISCOUNT! Stay away from this place! Robert YOU ARE A CROOK!

Exceptional service. Definitely a recommendation to all. Eye exam is worth the money. Upscale location with unique glasses.

Expensive lubricant eyedrops which are no better than any lubricant eyedrops from the pharmacy.

Elle a payé 1 fois mais aura pas une 2e fois.

Ensuite mon frère venu avec ses enfants et c'est la même situation. Mon frère nous a appelé pour vour si on a eu la même situation. Eh bien oui. On lui suggère d'aller voir Newlook sur côte des neiges où c'est plus honnête et charge seulement l'examen nécessaire.

Pour nous c'est proche comme du vol.

Here, they charge for a whatever test for something extra like 90$ and they say it's required. What a lie!

Go somewhere else like Newlook where you do regular eye checkup without charge.

I put thus review to try as possible to avoid more people getting scammed.

NEVER AGAIN. An eye exam that should cost around $65 ends up costing $155 (he used to say the additional eye scan only had to be done every other year and claimed it saved someone’s life – when I mentioned that to a friend, she laughed and said that he told her the EXACT SAME THING) or as high as $255 for what they refer to as the fitting exam of free TRIAL contact lenses that Fadi Maroun pushes. What is even more troublesome, is that even though we tried contact lenses in the past and they didn’t help with my astigmatism, he kept insisting that the technology has changed blah blah. Save yourself the aggravation of having to deal with his constant upsell – this is not what one expects from a medical “professional” – GO ELSEWHERE for the eye exam!

I went there today to repair my sunglasses and they didn’t take any charge. It was for free! Though I didn’t buy my sunglasses from their shop. What a service! Thank you.

Exemplary optometrist. With a lab on-site they can have you glasses ready in 20 minutes. Employees go above and beyond to deliver the best customer service, they are very helpful and really know their business. They don’t have all these complicated options and just give you the best. Just a fast, easy, efficient place.

Je déteste écrire des commentaires négatifs. J'ai décidé de faire affaire avec ce commerçant pour encourager les commerces dans le carré Lucerne. Une pratique commerciale est déloyale. Une trahison absolue. J'ai aveuglément fait confiance. Ils m'ont donné un verre standard dans une monture Tom Ford discontinue. 550$ dans la poubelle. Je suis capable d'acheter la monture Tom_Ford, mais pas un verre progressif. HD illogique! Un verre sans antireflet de qualité. Une vision nocturne très faible.

In addition to $80 for eye exam, they charged me additional $75 for eye scan ($155 total) and told me that will be reimbursed by insurance, but it was a lie. My insurance confirmed that eye scan is part of eye exam. This was also confirmed when my wife passed eye exam few days later with another optometrist. She had eye scan and eye exam and she paid only $80 with excellent service.

Hope that you will be cautious and will not repeat the bad experience that I had.

I don't understand the reviewers complaining about the price of an exam? Dr. Fadi Maroun has always been thorough and professional. Yes, he did insist on a retina scan every year that I saw him and he also CAUGHT my cataracts just in time. He referred me to an excellent center and I got my surgery at the Jewish under medicare. We are lucky to have him in Canada and not in the USA where he could probably make more money if that was what he was after.

They take advantage of new customers and try to do unnecessary tests and things they don’t need. The doctor (Dr. Fadi Maroun) seems to be nice. His first question to me was "when was the last time you came for check up? ". I haven't had any problem with my eyes, but I got embarrassed by saying "2 years ago". After being forced to pay 140$ (insurance won't pay for it and the staff won't let you know about it) for the new tomography test, while I only wanted to do a simple check up, now I know why less people are going for general check ups and usually they go after it's already too late. Doctors like him that want to make more money out of any opportunity are the reason.

From a customer experience standpoint, the reception/client-relationship person on the optometrist side would need some training on how to welcome and interact with customers. Client-facing is important in a high touch business. Clients must feel important, especially when they are paying for services. An attitude of indifference at the reception can destroy value in the end and lead to customer dissatisfaction. Clients are not captive in a competitive business like this one.

PEOPLE READ ONLY THE BAD REVIEWS - I took the time to read the bad reviews, and they are all the same - exactly my experience! Way too expensive, made me buy drops at 45$? I was charged over and over again - even when I was told there would be a charge.
The Dr is very nice BUT this place will drain your wallet for no reason.
