Je n'étais pas venu depuis la pandémie. Ajourdhui c'est Une vraie honte! En premier au telephone une femme navait pas bien ecrit mon nom (pourtant typiquement canadien-français) donc du coup ils m'ont fait déplacer pour arriver à 9h du matin (heure du rendez vous. J'arrive sur place la porte est barré et personne ne m'ouvre avant 9h16. Sur place ils trouvent mon nom dans les dossiers donc la bénévole fait juste regarder mon bail une minute et mon carnet d'aide sociale 30 secondes et on me dit que c'est 20$ pour la mise à jour du dossier!? Et de surcroit aucune possibilité d'avoir un panier de dépannage alimentaire aujourd'hui ni demain je dois attendre la semaine prochaine! Cet établissement est définitivement rayé pour moi!

Regarding the food bank at Marché Bon Accueil - Welcome Hall Mission, located at 4755 Acorn Street and 5095 Henri-Bourassa Boul East in Montreal:
I had to stop using this food bank for three reasons.
1. They give out too much spoiled food. For example, the pogo hot dogs I received there on March 30 gave me severe diarrhea, and the remainder had to be thrown out. The yogurt I received on the same day also had to be thrown out for the same reason.
2. They give out huge amounts of junk food, which can be hard to refuse and which is bad for my health. Examples include potato chips, granola bars with chocolate and lots of sugar, twinkies, and more, and all these on March 30 as well.
3. They closed my file without warning at the start of April, then refused to give me an appointment to update my file that would allow me to access the food bank on the same day. In other words, they expected me to make a separate trip to the depot just to update my file. I sent them my documents for renewing my file by e-mail a few different times and didn't get a reply. Their website does not work for uploading documents, even though they claim it does.
In summary, the Marché Bon Accueil - Welcome Hall Mission food bank is very badly organized and operated, with the consequences described above. Whoever funds this place should consider spending their money to support more worthy organizations instead.
