I visited here when the hotel was 3 months old. Staff was wonderful. Hotel spotless and so comfortable. 10/10 recommend.

Outstanding! Decor, fresh, modern and rooms are spacious with great closet space. Beautiful property. The staff goes above and beyond to answer questions, make reservations etc.

Location, location centrally located and in walking distance to many historic attractions. I walked to the most popular locations and dinning areas from the hotel.

We had such an amazing time. The ambiance was just right. I felt like royalty when I arrived up until we left.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They were always there to help if needed. The decor was.lots of different things to look at. Also a great place for pics and selfies!
I would definitely stay there again and again and again!

We chose this hotel based on Expedia's good references and were delighted with our choice. This hotel has a very modern French interior design and the room we had was a work of art! It is nicer and bigger than my husband and I expected. It's such a comfortable stay at this hotel, especially when we didn't want to go out on a cold rainy day. We had a huge bathtub in our room which was very convenient to soak in with powdered sea salt provided by the hotel. Breakfast boxes were left outside our room door each morning as the reserved continental breakfast cannot be served during the restaurant renovation. Bad timing this time, but we still enjoyed every moment in this hotel. This location is very convenient with countless delicious restaurants within walking distance. The young gentleman named Yuber who helped us checked-in was very professional and super nice. Such a magnificent hotel in an awesome location with great services, we loved it! We would heartily recommend it to everyone!

Fantastic hotel, absolutely loved all the eclectic decorations, the hallways and staff was very friendly. Close to everything you want to be by. Can't wait to go back!

Cet hôtel est de loin mon préféré à Québec, et pourtant j'en ai essayé plusieurs. Le décor des chambres est sublime, la propreté aussi. Le service est super courtois et il est très bien situé. Très facile de se garer grâce au valet et leur stationnement intérieur. Je recommande fortement cet hôtel.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Monsieur Jean. We were there to celebrate my 60th birthday.
It was absolutely wonderful and we will definitely return.

The location in Old Quebec City is ideal for walking to tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. The hotel is beautiful, decorated with cool art, very modern and extremely clean including the room. It was spotless and lovely.

The rooms are gorgeous. The kitchenette was great and the bathroom was huge and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable as well.

The staff were so helpful, pleasant and genuine.
We would like to highlight Benoit at the front desk.
He was exceptional. He always greeted us with a big smile, knew us by name and he helped us with anything that we needed. He made our stay feel extra special.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour chez monsieur Jean, l'hôtel est au coeur du vieux Québec près de tout les beaux endroits à visiter. Beaucoup de choix de restaurants à proximité. La chambre était très propre et le matelas très confortable. Aussi les employés sont vraiment gentils et ils ont très bien répondu à nos questions. Assurément que nous allons y retourner dans le futur.

This hotel was perfect. I couldn’t find a thing wrong with anything. Loved it from the minute I walked in. The art, design and use of all spaces tasteful, useful and charming. Heated bathroom floors, beds comfy, spectacular shower. We will be back for sure

Clairement un de mes hôtels préférés! Le service est plus que parfait et la chambre était magnifique. J'ai adoré les petites attentions, les détails comme le sel pour le bain, le déjeuner servi à la porte en silence, la cuisinette cachée derrière les grandes armoires. Je recommande fortement!

Perfect place to stay for Christmas! Right across from Hotel de Ville and around the corner from the Main Street restaurants and shops. A quick walk up the hill to Chateau Frontenac, toboggans and the Funicular. A great spot in the middle of Old Quebec to make your home base, especially during heavy snow. Staff was friendly and welcoming, also helpful to get taxis and any services or recommendations you may need during your stay. The vibe is quirky and fun with a welcoming fireplace and Christmas trees. Our room was exactly what we wanted. A kitchenette for when we didn’t want to find a restaurant and a killer bathtub. Bed was super comfortable. We included breakfast in our stay which was convenient but not the best (croissant, eggs with ham, orange juice, cheese and yogurt). Wish they had room service and we would be set.

This hotel is superb! Excellent rooms, amenities, all you can asked!

We experienced a most abhorrent treatment from hotel staff on our stay from August 28 - Sept 3. We stayed at this property as a couple and were working from Quebec during our stay.
Upon checkout on the morning of 9/3 the female manager at the desk told us she was charging us $100 for partying and broken items in our room. Since we had no idea what she is talking about she told us that another guest told the hotel that on our first night in our room we threw a party and created loud noises. Even though she said something was "broken", she could not provide any details of this claim.
At no point during our stay did we have a party, have any guests to our room, or create any excessive noise. We are actually both sober for many years so we do not even drink. We were both working and not in town for pleasure at all. NO ONE from the hotel ever contacted us during our 6 days there to notify us there was any kind of claim against us. I asked her to produce details including what was "broken" in our room. Of course I knew we broke nothing during our stay. She could not provide any detail or proof of anything broken.

In addition to this, we are an older couple who live quietly and keep a clean room. We only had housekeeping make up our room twice in 6 days.
I specifically asked for the manager's name who was trying to charge us this random $100, and like a petulant child she replied "I don't have to give you my name! ". This is supposed to be a highly rated hotel that takes care of guests and charges high rates for rooms. The manager at the desk began yelling at me saying "I am a human and just work here. I don't have to give you details of the reason for the charge except that another guest claimed it! ".

This unbelievable experience was apparently the result of some guest claiming they heard a party from our room, which was completely false. The hotel took no action on this complaint including asking us about the complaint or verifying it in any way. They used this as an opportunity to fraudulently try to charge us an extra $100, even though we just paid them $3000 for our stay for the week.
We travel over 150 days each year for business and have never had a hotel staff treat us so disrespectfully. Their claim was 100% false, and their behavior toward us was absolutely inexcusable.

Belle hôtel propre et service très chaleureux. Chambre spacieuse, douche immense, corridor magique, décoration de rêve au delà de l'imaginaire. Le personnel est très attentionné à rendre votre séjour plus que parfait.

The staff, in particular the hotel manager, were rude and abrupt. We had an issue with the hotel parking and when we raised this the manager she was dismissive, unwilling to help, extremely rude and clearly not focused on customer experience. Would not come back.

Catherine was a gem, she did amazing when we were checking in to the hotel. She was able to guide us when we were there last week and was able to tell us all about old Quebec and overall she had a really energetic aura. She was able to make us excited for our trip from the very beginning and we will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

The hotel doesn't have a parking, so there is a paid parking nearby (18$ a day). First, we had a standart room at Monsieur Jean for $433. The hotel view in Old Quebéc was very nice. The room and bathroom are clean and the bed is very confortable. However, there a few things that we had some difficulties. First, the hotel itself is a dark theme hotel, so there is no much lights and might be a little scary. Even the bathroom misses a little bit of brightness. I wanted to shave and it was a bit difficult. The other thing was the fact that the AC controller is not simple to understand. Controlling the heat/cold is not very easy. In addition, the bathroom has a fan, but we didn't know how to turn it on because there was no switch apart the light switch. Having a fan in the shower would be great. The other little thing was the room light, it was flashing when you turn it on because it wasn't working properly. An other thing, one of the pillows in the bed had an hole. On the other side, the place is very quiet, has a nice view in Old Québec and has a nice staff. For the price, you pretty much pay for the localization and the view.

From the moment you open the door you are met with the most wonderful fragrance and then unique decor, Monsieur Jean is an amazing boutique hotel worth the price. We initially had a discrepancy where our reservation did not show up, the reception staff dealt with it quickly and offered as a similarly beautiful room. The room was incredible, amazing view of the river & old Quebec, comfortable bed, soft sheets, double sinks and gorgeous rain shower. We also loved the flooring and cozy carpet unique in a hotel. We had a few issues with our key card throughout our stay and the reception staff always quickly fixed it with a smile. The coffee from the cafe was delicious & wow- the croissants! We highly recommend if you want a unique hotel experience with an amazing location in the heart of Old Quebec!

I didn't realize how beautiful Quebec City was until this visit.
We stayed in the Old Quebec area at the Monsieur Jean hôtel on a friends recommendation and it didn't disappoint.
It's a really trendy and cool boutique hotel in the middle of Old Quebec that is footsteps away from all the action.
The rooms were very spacious and were ultra modern especially the washrooms.
The rooms were very clean which is important to me.
The parking for my car was great as it was right inside the hotel so I can take out the car anytime I want. It was the cleanest indoor parking lot I have seen.
They have a really cute open window coffee shop that overlooks a very nice historic intersection that I used for coffee every morning.
The only reason why I would not give it 5 stars is that my view from the hotel room was over looking the back part and there was a lot of graffiti.
But overall I would definitely recommend this hotel:)

The hotel has amazing rooms (clean, beautiful decoration, very cozy) and is very well located. There is furthermore the possibility of parking (extra pay) if you come by car; finally the staff is quite nice.

Unfortunately, although all those positives, my stay (with my partner) felt more negative - entering the room, which we paid for a view, we were given one that gave view straight on the road and to say the least, on garbages! Paid the same price as my friend that was staying on the 7th floor but he had the opportunity of a view, and no noise from cars, could open their windows without having people peak inside. Upon complaint, it felt more like we were the problem for complaining - when coming down to complain, front desk knew we'd be coming - if this is a recurring problem, have a solution ready.

I was offered another room at the same price - upon visiting the room, it was much smaller: without bath (which was initially paid for in the other room) and only one sink (whereas the other had two). When asking how come this room was at the same price if it was much smaller and I wasn't getting the amenities I had paid extra for the other, the staff said that she didn't have an answer for me, and this was the room her manager proposed for us. And to say the least, we weren't paying because now we had a 'better' view as my friend staying on the 7th had all the amenities and the view, for the same price I was paying, but here I was given less.

After many back and forth of the staff going to speak with her manager, they finally proposed us an upgrade, a room with a beautiful view, and all amenities, and more. We were very excited, until we were told we had to pay the extra price upgrade for getting the room - a joke.

Through this all, we paid for the upgrade, but no rectification apologies made (such as your typical, 'I am sorry, here is a cheap sparkling wine' or to accommodate for your trouble, we have made parking free for the night for you - any cheapest way to say sorry would have been very much appreciated, even a small sorry note - wouldn't have cost much the hotel, but would have probably come a much longer way for our stay to be more pleasant).

This was truly a first for me, being treated so poorly, which was blamed on 'this is hospitality in Canada / Quebec', which truly isn't - this is a problem of the hotel, where they are not accommodating to guests. But, those troubles were blamed on the owner, which he apparently is the one to have final say on guest issues.

Staying at Monsieur Jean is to your decision, as I mentioned, beautiful hotel and well located, but keep in mind that if you have a problem, complaining will make it that you are the problem.

Amazing location, very clean, different but really nice style. Would recommend a room on a higher floor, anything above floor 2.

Lovely hotel - great staff, clean, comfy bed, extremely comfy pillow. However the bathroom aircon vents did not work for the whole stay of 3 nights so it was too hot. The room was very warm at night too as the cooling system seemed to be set and we couldn't alter it. Room 305 A. We did report this on the second day to both housekeeping and reception but nothing was done.

Bonjour, je n'ai pas séjourné dans votre hôtel, cependant je travaille dans le Vieux Québec et mon stationnement est voisin de votre hôtel, soit le stationnement Pierre Olivier Chauveau. Le problème que je rencontre presqu'à chaque jour c'est au moment que vos clients arrivent ils se stationnent dans la courbe de la rue Chauveau pour débarquer leurs valises et comme c'est une rue à double sens donc j'ai failli avoir un accident pour me tasser pour pouvoir entrer dans mon stationnement. Comme vous avez un stationnement souterrain à votre hôtel, pourquoi ne pas demander à votre valet service et à vos clients de débarquer leurs valises dans le stationnement de votre hôtel. C'est ma suggestion
