Montréal poutine

There was a lovely wall upstairs with the history of how poutine was invented and who invented it. I used to like it but unfortunately that wall is no more there. Also, weird that as a customer you won't be served tap water. You would have to buy a water bottle of you are thirsty. I have not seen any other restaurants not offering water to their customers free of charge.

The service of some super unpleasant waitresses, they took your order and after half an hour they arrived with the food, when people from tables around arrived after us and they served them before and with bad faces.look for another option

I have had better poutine made by arabs in Downtown Ottawa, with racist staff and pathetic service they are certainly not worth the hype.

Delicious poutine. Slightly more expensive than casual places but you're also paying for the location and convenience of it being near a famous landmark.

Enjoyed a classic poutine in the evening – the fries and cheese were delightful. The side aisle tables offered pleasant outdoor views adorned with hanging money plants. The ambient lighting added to the overall experience.

We came from Toronto to try their authentic poutine but were really disappointed. Cheese was not heated, was way too salty and the poutine was dry.
I wouldn’t have been able to eat the ketchup.
Save your money and go to McDonald.

Not sure why all the negative reviews.maybe service was poor but we did not experience that. Seated within 2 minutes.attentive staff bringing out delicious poutine. So good that we had to re-order for more. Their gravy is vegan so thats great since we had a vegetarian in the party. A little on the expensive side though.

Great atmosphere, great food, the staff is nice and everytime I go there I have a good time.

Employees were very nice and helpful and friendly! We ordered the Smoked Meats Poutine and the Sausage poutine. The smoked meats isn't your "traditional" smoked meat but it was probably smoked before being cooked and served. But it was still good! The sausage poutine was great. It is what it says. The amount you get is very generous. I would highly recommend ordering one and ordering another dish but up to you if you love poutine because either way, it will satisfy your stomachs.

The space between tables is good and the amount of space on the tables is more than enough space for a group of 2 or 4. If your group is larger than 4, it looks like they will have to accommodate your group.

Overall, it's a solid poutine place. Get the upstairs seating you can and enjoy the view.

Beautiful terrace! Had a very salty classic poutine and the Portage Plage cocktail! Hit the spot!

Disappointing. We were looking forward to this. Service was bad. They wouldn’t seat us because they didn’t want to split tables. We said that we’d pay separately even though we were a group and we’re willing to eat separately. We ordered to go instead and they gave us such a small amount compared to what we would have gotten for eating in. We were given forks to go that were wrapped in paper packaging but the packages were empty. We had to go back and we realized that part of the order was missing. Gravy was salty and just mediocre. We had high hopes. If it wasn’t for the lack of service we might have enjoyed the food more. Felt like a tourist trap. Note: gravy is vegetarian so that worked for us.

Was in need of the famous Quebec Poutine while I was visiting over the weekend and I was not disappointed at this restaurant. Great portion size, amazing taste, good value. Highly recommend.

Wow, nice place. Hidden from outside. There is a nice open space inside with enjoyable music. Tried eating classic Montréal Poutine. Nice to try once.

The poutine here is pretty good, I only wish the toppings were incorporated a bit more with the fries. It was a little difficult to eat since it was piled so high and the fries were on the bottom. Service here was polite but a bit slow. All in all I would recommend if you're looking for poutine.

No tap water so you have to pay for water the portions are tiny. The taste was decent but definitely not going back. The staff are nice!

If you want to eat here, I’d suggest do a take out, only because the food is decent. The worst, most horrible service you’d ever get. We were a group of 7 (2 families, 4 + 3) and they refused to take us because they wouldn’t let us occupy 2 tables and they couldn’t get a table for 7. Go figure….

Nous avons essayé la poutine régulière, celle à la saucisse épicée et celle au poulet frit et nous avons tous bien aimé. Frites croustillantes et portion généreuse.

Don’t usually eat outside but could not resists this place. Service was great, and food was delicious. If you’re looking for fine dining go somewhere else, this was a great causal spot. Great music as well! We had the hot dog plate (don’t knock it, it’s delicious!), and the poutine with fried chicken. Very good! The Old Fashioneds are simply amazing too!

It’s a decent place in old port for poutine. I also liked their terrace. Unfortunately they don’t have any desserts in menu and don’t serve water, you should by a bottle

Poutine was really good, sandwich was very small and bread was soggy. Only saw our server when he came to take our order and when he came to take our payment. Everything took quite a while. Had water and food spilt on us (2 separate times) without an apology. Overall, would recommend going elsewhere.

Pas trop sur au début vu notre placement de 4 personnes sur une bébé table mais serveuse super cool, poutine excellente, pas trooop cher pour le vieux port. On a bien aimé:)

Being summer we ate in a pleasant interior patio served by friendly waitresses. We ordered the poutine specialty and it was correct. To put a downside is that the sauce overflowed on the sides of the plate and dirty the table since they do not put a plate under it. The site is recommended.
