Although some of the reviews below can be helpful, I do find it bad taste to include the names of therapists in a negative light in the reviews below. This lack of discernment makes it hard to take the negative feedback seriously. After many months of searching for the right counselor, a friend referred me here. I have learned that a relationship with a therapist is like any other relationship. It is your/my responsibility to tell a therapist if something is not working for you. They are human and not there to make you feel good, but to tell you the truth and give constructive feedback. If you don't have the capacity to take constructive feedback, then you may not be ready for therapy. There's not much of a say when a family doctor is assigned to you or when they request $200 for a 20 min meeting. Why have that expectation with therapists? Keeping an open mind and communication is the key to success in therapy.
Overall, my experience has been positive. My therapist is warm and knows what she is talking about. Staff is welcoming. I loved my experience here.

I heard the MTC was celebrating it's 20 year anniversary and I want to express gratitude for the important service they provide to the city. I started my career as a therapist working with the MTC. In the years since, they have become my "go to" when I need to refer. I trust the director, Rebecca Murray's, ability to carefully vet, train, and support the team of therapists. She is always finding ways to bring additional learning and support opportunities for the therapist. Since the start of the pandemic, the already great demand for accessible mental health services in the community has grown exponentially. The MTC has been working hard to ensure those who are on their wait list are given resources and other options. They have also stayed committed to a sliding scale, something that is now hard to find in the city. The leadership is receptive to feedback and clearly always striving to improve. I've only had positive feedback from the many folks I've referred over the years. Thanks MTC!

Worth the wait! From the administration team to the individual therapists - everyone was extremely welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. I would 10/10 recommend to anyone!

An amazing professional counselling service offering a fee scale linked to the client"s income.

After sending my private documentation by email (taxes and monthly statement) to see if I was admissible for help. They replied by email that I was admissible for therapy and let me know that they have between 4 to 12 weeks delay. Today After 4 weeks of waiting, I just received an email from Christina Koufoudakis. She is now referring me (sending me an email link) to l'ordre des psychologues du Québec for help. Advising me that they do not have the required availability to help me. Clearly the Montreal Therapy Center are not here for therapy, they are here to fill out their own pockets. MAKE NO MISTAKE. Do not send your personal information by email. They are disorganized, Montreal Therapy Centre is a front and they are on their last leg. I will go back online and find guidance from people who have their hearts at the right place.
