Grande patinoire. La glace est toujours bien entretenue et il y a plusieurs vestiaires avec aussi une place à coté de la patinoirs avec des casiers et des bancs.
I used to teach and skate here for a long time. If you want courses to learn to skate it's great, good for hockey and a really nice place to free skate if you want to come casually and skate with family or friends. Downside is it's a small arena relative to others but not by that much.
Getting to anything other than room 1,2, or 3 is kind of a pain. The rooms are relatively clean and odor free. The ice is usually pretty good. This is one of the few remaining rinks (I can't think of an other) where the player benches are opposite to each other (rather than today's rinks where the players home and visitor benches are on the same side). It is also one of the much warmer arena's, even if you are not under the gas heaters. Parking is fine for most practices during the week, but can get challenging on weekends.
Like my second home, I love it! It's perfect to learn how to skate and improve and also to skate competitively. There is a skating show every year full of costumes and skaters from ages 2 or 3 to some in their 20s and then there are special Olympic guests. There is also hockey in the evenings, and judo upstairs on Wednesdays. In the summer, we skate the whole day and we get to know each other like sisters. We also do off ice training including ballet, yoga, zumba, and just working out. There are people from all ages at our club and it's just so much fun!
The facilities are great, however every time I have ever gone there, the refs are poorly trained. Children get hurt and are lying on the ice and the opposing team has to stop the game to get the child help as the refs make no calls. Horrible referees, they give hockey in TMR a bad reputation.
This may be one of my favorite arenas, and I've seen many of them on the island of Montreal! It's always clean, the staff is kind and the locker rooms are sizable. I've been told the seats around the arena are comfortable, compared to others, and there's adequate seating room in the lobby. We love coming here because there's always parking available and the surrounding park is gorgeous!
