Multi Luminaire

I’d put this on a list as one of the key places in Montreal to check out for lighting (along with the St. Michel flea market and IKEA, in case you are wondering).

Really a very, very good selection of lights in a variety of styles and price points. Nothing super-super cheap, but there were very stylish fixtures for under $500 and nice-looking lamps for under $100. Some interesting sculptural stuff made out of iron on the opposite side of the price spectrum, too. There seemed to be a number of floor models on sale, so it’s probably worth popping by to take a look at what an individual store has on markdown.

It seems like the kind of place where you’d be shown a lot of options if you went in with a general price point and a rough idea of what you want. I say “seems” because, sadly, when I visited the store and walked around for a good 20 minutes, nobody approached me. There were a number of folks bustling around, but it wasn’t clear who was an employee, and nobody looked available for me to ask for help. A quick trip to the website indicates that you can actually make an appointment with a staff member to talk about what you are looking for. If you’re like me, and have discovered that you’re super picky about lighting, it’s probably worth a try.

Will I come back? Eh, probably not. I might have bought something that fits my needs if I had someone to talk to about my choices, but as it is, nothing lit my pants on fire. However, I would *absolutely* recommend this place to someone who is having problems finding the lighting they need—as long as my friend also made an appointment in advance, of course.

A few years back I visited this location. I waited an hour to get service. No one came to help me. I don’t plan on ever returning.

I like the store but taught lots of chandeliers etc.were a little expensive but the sales lady was pleasant but I will go back to buy dining room chandelier.

Went there twice in the last few days. On my first visit no one even approached us or gave us any attention. On the 2nd visit I sought out a sales rep and asked a few questions but got vague answers. The pricing is high end but the service is dismal. If you expect me to pay boutique pricing you should have the decency and courtesy to at the very least address my questions regarding the product I want to buy.

Commandé deux plafonniers, laissé 3 messages téléphoniques au cours de 4 jours, pour savoir si ma commande était arrivée, jamais eu de rappel. J'ai dû me rendre sur place (35 min de route + retour). Piètre service à la clientèle!

I used to think this place was called Illuminati lighting. It would be a better name. If they change if I'll change my review to 5 stars.

Not happy with the way the manager handled the situation and the attitude shown.walked into the store (3rd time customer) to buy a light fixture for my daughters room.unknowingly the piece that we choose is the last one in stock on display and also a discontinued product.so I requested for a further discount keeping in mind their return and exchange policies for products on SALE.the manager refuses saying that he can easily sell it to another customer in as is condition.hence they lost the sale and also a customer

Prices are well over any other store in the area for the same quality/type products. Some quick research shows they mark up by 30-40% than the competition. The location is good. The choice is good too.

My experience at Multi Luminaire St jean was simply outstanding! Catherine Lemire is the absolute best at customer service. She anticipated my every want and need before even i knew. My fixtures are gorgeous and all my guests rave on how they look. Will definitely be back.

Great customer service & great products. I bought a lamp that did not have a bulb included, called the store to complain, the manager mailed me the bulb, i received it a couple of days later. Thank you for a great service!

Purchased bulbs for my whole house at this store. I told the sales lady i wanted WHITE LIGHT bulbs, not yellowish. Every bulb was the wrong one.pathetic

Went there because of the Variety.so I bought a lamp that ended being defected but I also found it didn’t go with my decor so brought it back the next day.they said they would only repair it!
BEWARE before you buy.they are very strict about refunds making it near impossible to get your money back! You better be certain about what you are buying because this place clearly wants nothing to do with their product once it leaves the store!
With those prices are you serious? ! That’s how you keep customers from not coming back!

From now on, I shop at Home Sense
At least they believe in customer service and refund with no questions asked!
