As a native Montrealer it was really interesting to learn about the history of the community in the plateau. Romy was a fantastic guide who clearly did her research and is very passionate about the subject.
The young lady tour guide did a great job explaining the history of Montreal's Jewish community supported by photographic evidence of how the buildings used to look before they were transformed. Worth every penny!
We did a tour of Jewish Montreal and it was wonderful way to learn and to meet other people interested in the topics. Our tour was "Rabbis, Writers, and Radicals". Highly recommend!
I walked here without checking first, because the place appears with positive reviews in various Montreal tourism sites. Putting information on the website about your lack of regular visiting hours is fine, but you might do the same on your own front door. I arrived and was completely puzzled and disappointed.
Never knew about this tour until finding it online. Very informative, the Jewish history in Montreal in the area the guide took us to is fascinating. Nice little hidden gem in the city!
I really enjoyed this walking tour! I took a weekday tour of "Rabbis, Writers, and Radicals. " It lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes. We were in a group of 5, so it was a great size where everyone could participate and ask questions, but still a wide variety of insights and takeaways. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a brief primer of Jewish history in Montreal.
Great tour (in the shadow of the mountain). I highly recommend it. The tour leader, Avery, was great. Personable and very knowledgeable! I learned so much about Montreal and Jewish history.
I brought a group of Jewish high school students from Toronto on a tour, and we were all so engaged! The leader was knowledgeable, passionate, and shared fascinating insights about the neighbourhood and its characters. We loved it - thank you!
