New City Gas

The venue is somewhat nice, no seating whatsoever. To use the bathroom, youve got to deal with bouncers yelling asking where youre going every 5 feet then pushing you in that direction or kicking you out if you dont answer well enough while also racing servers serving a gourmet restaurant, trying not to spill their food to wherever it was going. The drinks are ridiculously expensive ($50+ for 2 drinks). Drinks are also served right at the rail too, on a platform where they block 100% of the view. Watch your fingers, the drink person seriously hurt us when he stood on the rail platform to sell drinks behind us. Drawing blood on our fingers without acknowledgment.

But the worst part, is the staff. I was practically cavity searched (every single pocket, every single square inch of my body, found nothing), whereas others in my party could've brought in a firearm because they weren't even patted.

As soon as we arrived, we paid for coat checking. 3 hours later, after the headliner of the night was done at 1AM, we were ready to pick up our jackets. The line was 100 people long, but it wasn't moving. We discovered this was because they were trying to make more money before serving the ones who had already paid. They would not serve anyone and were actively being aggressive, rude, and generally scary and uncomfortable to EVERYONE. I kindly asked the bouncer what the ETA of them catching up was, and he literally didn't even look at me and shrugged. You can't kick someone out for asking for the jacket they paid to be checked (the entire coat check was empty except the odd person trying to deposit). Other staff said there's no reason we can't get our coat. 100s of people were angry and confused while being threatened. We literally could not leave the venue even once we were outside because different bouncers were fighting someone over their jacket (saying they couldn't even bring it in or something).

Overall, the staff and facility needs training with large crowds and stress mitigation, or new staff. I've never seen such ridiculousness, it was silly how worked up they were getting over nothing. The bouncers and staff were often the only ones seen to be escalating situations, yelling when nobody else is, and trying to pick fights over where young, overwhelmed people were trying to relax for a minute out if the way. Way too aggressive for the scene and need retraining, honestly. Anyone else who was there for NYE would say the exact same. Even before going, we were warned about their attitude. It's not a one time thing apparently.

Visually the place is great, friendly staff, a lot of fun. Obviously can get crazy packed and pricey but that's to be expected.

This venue seams to be able to book A list acts so that’s great. My second time there exactly 1 year apart and nothing has changed. The entire venue ends up with water everywhere, not just moisture but water condensation on everything from the intense heat and humidity, even saw the security staff make expression about it. The business responded to a post to a separate review from a year ago saying “it was a hot night and our AC could not keep up”. Well I guess they never put any money into improving ventilation A/C in the last year. Other comments about the ‘personalities’ of security staff are correct, rude and intimidating for no reason. I will not return and. Not recommend it to anyone due to what’s mentioned. Attended the Galantis show. We had to purchase water due to the tropical weather i there and ONLY once we were leaving did we see free water dispenser downstairs.

This venue absolutely blew my mind. There is nothing else like it in Canada. Amazing performers, sound, food, bars!

Favorite venue to see dubstep artists. We come from Toronto at least once a year. Staff is great and the experience is always A+.

It's a shame that they ruin what could be a great venue with amazing artists by letting WAY more people in than they should. We went to their New Year's Eve party and we had to leave 30 mins into Vicetone's concert because we literally couldn't move inside the crowd. And I'm not exaggerating, Vicetone tried making a "everybody sit on the floor", and it was impossible to do. Try to wrap your head around that, there was no physical space for people to SIT DOWN.

This place should be investigated for overselling tickets, if there is ever an emergency there, it's going to get incredibly messy.

The location itself is cool but my experience at the Rezz concert was terrible. The place was way overcrowded, constantly getting elbowed and the "VIPs" were throwing ice cubes down at the crowd. The sound was bad in that the venue is a long hallway and in theory they have speakers all around but during the concert only the stage speakers were on. So about a third of the way from stage you could have a normal conversation without yelling - and that's not what I go to a concert for.
On top of all of that the security handled the crowd horrifically. When the concert was over, they just blocked all the exits except for "VIPs". We were already close to exits but still had to wait in line for more than half an hour _to get out_.
And the only reason we did get out then was that some people decided to overpower the bouncers. Turns out there was enough room for everyone downstairs and instead of blocking the doors for alleged "stair safety" they could've just put the door-blocking bouncers into the stairway to help people up and deal with traffic flow there. Was a bit pathetic organization.

Some of the craziest nights I’ve had were in this building. If you like raves, or you like bottle service, this is the spot to be at. Insane lineups for DJs and artists from all around the world. From house to hip-hop, they hve it all. It’s not your regular club, nor is it a regular spot.

During the summer they host one of the city’s most renowned 5 à 7s every Thursday’s. A must see!

The one saving grace of this venue is that they book great artists frequently. It falls short in almost every other aspect though.

1. For popular shows, they are always oversold. Apparently they have no idea how many people can reasonably fit on their dance floor. This last weekend was an all time low when they sold out all tickets, and then released more. Even in the most far back areas of the upstairs, we were shoulder to shoulder.

2. The layout is awful. The linear design of the warehouse means you either need to be at the front where it is always super dense with people, or retreat to the back where there is space on most nights but you feel so removed from the lights, artist, screen, etc.

3. Smaller point but ridiculous dress code. Women are free to enter wearing whatever they want, men aren't allowed in with anything that shows their shoulders or knees. Pretty dumb on hot summer days when you actually need to worry about dehydration/overheating.

4. True for many places but especially true here as well- drinks are insanely overpriced, and most of the bartenders are incompetent. (There are one or two that are nice and attentive)

They have a great sound system, but it is dirty and staff is not nice (as in any club). If you wanna party, it's the place to go, their lineup is quite incredible

My work party was here last month. Very nice venue, great staff and the food was amazing!
Parking however, wasn't the most pleasant experience. Loads of construction in the area, leave ahead to make it on time!

The place is awesome. Beautiful decor amazing sound. But the amount of people they let in is dangerous. You cant even drink a beer because the person in front of you is too close

Belle endroit beau potentiel! Juste trop de vente de billets manque d'espace pour être bien dans un show. Des fois je me demande si ils vende pas over capacité. Bref je recommande quand même si tu aime voir des prestations de dj que tu apprécie.

I loved the atmosphere, a little pricy but it worth it. The music is good even though I am not a fan of trams music. Huge crowd with handsome boys and pretty girls.

Amateur music venue, with a subpar sound system. They treat General Admission guests like farm animals. When the show ended, several security guards ferociously kept the ONLY exit doors closed (unless you’re VIP). We waited at least 25 minutes to leave and it was only after the crowd turned into an angry mob storming past the staff we forced our way outside.

New City Gas should be embarrassed how they operate this place. I attend many music venues of similar scales across Canada and the US but none of them left us with such a bad experience. Also, they don’t allow refillable (or factory sealed) water bottles to be brought inside. Clearly profits are more importantly than safety. Total joke of a venue. Looks pretty nice, but that’s about it.

I've never been in such disorganized EDM venue such a this place compared to the rest of the world. Went there for a few shows like Andrew Rayel, Dash Berlin and recently Armin Van Buuren (which was 142$ GA) and I dont know why I still give this place a chance. Drinks are overly expensive (25$ for 2 small cocktails, 5$ for bottled tap water) and you can tell they oversell tickets to make even more money. The place was so overpacked that we couldn't even dance or move to any spot. People were rude to even let you pass but I dont blame them, I blame the establishment for a bad setup. People were sweating like pigs and bartenders thirsty for your money. I could feel the same anger from other party goers. Overall bad experience.

CHANGE YOUR SECURITY STAFF! One of the worst venues in the city because of their security and partially because they over sell insanely for every good booking. They act like its a holding cell with security just waiting to attack anyone they feel like.towards the end of a trap show, i alone was forcibly removed for standing in the circle were a dozen people were moshing. I was kicked out of the building without my jacket in January and when they got me alone i was yelled at viciously by a man with two 6'7" body guards next to him threatening me. Every other time i have been it was always a very hostile environment and took an hour minimum to leave after each show because of the amount of people. (they also lied to everyone about the Travis Scott show). Gotta manage this place better because the venue does have potential to be enjoyable for everyone.

I ordered VIP tickets for my friend and I (for $40 to have access to a VIP bar and better seats, why not?), however we were unaware the VIP section required table purchases (for upwards of $1k) and as two attractive women it was a bad experience; we accidentally sat at the tables as we arrived somewhat early into the event, only to be yelled at by various security and told we had wait and be invited to the them. I understand it is protocol and respectful to those who did pay, however the implications that we received was not what we were looking for, and we ended up leaving prior to the artist we wanted to see (who was at 1 am with 3 openers that were not listed on the website). Perhaps if I were to return, I would do so with a male companion, and maybe receive a fraction of the respect he does for being 'property'.
In short, very misleading website and poor treatment of customers, would give 0 stars if that were an option.

This place is ok, nothing special.again this is an another place for people to just seat and looking at each other no interaction with people whatsoever, funny how Canadian guys, especially the one who haven't traveled anywhere to see beautiful women.they would go there get drunk seat with their male friends, and spend the whole night looking at snobby girls holding a LV bad but unattractive as F.

I don't know if this place is always like this, but when I was here yesterday I realized that if you are not extremely high on some pills or totally wasted, you are not to enjoy this place. People look like freaking zombies, music, if you can call that music, is just garbage, so if you like some sort of lyrical music or club music to which you can actually dance, avoid this place. The venue by itself is nice, but to me it feels like such a waste of space. Alcohol is expensive too, for a bottle of beer you have to pay 9$ + tip so if you're planning on getting drunk in this place, I'd recommend you bring at least 50$.

The terrace is nice, you need to pay a small cover charge at the door, i think it is 7$
The service is good but too crowded on the weekend and you need to pay for more than 1000$ consumption to have a table, else you only have the bar option stand up.
I might come back eventough it is too fancy in my opinion

A bartender took a photo of my credit card. She taught I was drunk and took advantage of me by taking my credit card and taking a picture of it. I was shocked and yelled at her ARE YOUR SERIOUS. She was so scared and gave me a free drink to apologize. I was so mad and cancelled my credit card that night. NEVER I WILL GO TO THIS PLACE. Sorry for everybody else but I had to say it.

Obliger les gens à mettre leurs sac à main aux vestiaires je trouve ça pas top sachant qu’il y aurait des vols dans celui ci.
Revoyez votre accueil VIP parce que là ca va pas du tout. Et l’hôtesse qui vous redirige dans la mauvaise direction et ne s’excuse pas après c’est pas très classe pour une boîte de nuit comme la vôtre.

Very racist, discrimination between what a black/brown person can wear vs what a white male can wear. Sad that this place doesn't treat all people as equal. AKA (Bouncers are power hungry) Also the male bouncers sexually assault female occupants for "security" reasons on entry to search them for "drugs and weapons". My 19 year old friend didnt feel comfortable after being searched by the bouncers.

Great performance by ASAP Ferg, terrible venue for advertising Idk and denzel curry for 6 months after the artist already cancelled. Shame on you, I traveled 8 hours to find out two acts previously cancelled six months ago and get a third of the show I paid for. Probably won't be giving my recommendation to anyone I know.
