A must visit while in Quebec City. I definitely enjoyed the history of this Cathedral and being able to enter through the ONLY Holy Door outside of Europe was an amazing experience. They definitely don't make building like this anymore.
This ornate cathedral is a must see in Quebec City. The gold plated statues give one the impression of Christ rising to heaven. Do a self guided tour at the bare minimum, and if you can, sit through a church service to get a true feel for it’s history.
The church is amazing. There is a old bold guy very rude in the san francisco de laval chapel. I dont think a person like him should work in a holy enviroment.
Visit on Sunday December 10,2023. Notre-Dame de Quebec Cathedral Basilica, built in the 1660's is a lovely place to visit and take in the beautiful architectural features and religious artwork. This, the oldest church in Canada, celebrated its 350th anniversary in 2014. Mobility impaired accessible entrance. Check for opening times and avoid any times which may have a service.
This architectural masterpiece is home to the first Catholic parish north of the Spanish colonies. No entry fee, gorgeous inside. Be mindful they’re building a ramp to access the holy door, which as of right now is blocked, you can’t get too close to it.
