Nouveau Palais

Nous avons eu droit à un dîner gratuit de la part de notre employeur via le food truck Winneburger. Leur cheeseburger était très bon ainsi que leur salade de choux. Par contre, il servait leur repas avec des chips… J’aurais préféré des frites, mais bon, quand c’est gratuit on ne chiale pas. Leur serveur était sympathique et le service rapide. Somme toute, je n’ai pas été déçue.

If Berghain and Wendy’s had a baby the outcome would be Nouveau Palais. Woof!

If you’re only going to eat, it has extremely mediocre food especially for the price. The fried chicken is honestly worse than even IGA fried chicken. Burger is as meh as it gets.

Ambiance is nice and the music is cool, but the food is so bland. No sense in going here given how many amazing restaurants are in the area.

This place seems totally confused whether it's a bar or a diner. The curb sign says diner- as soon you walk in, it seeme like a bar. Then as you're seated it's somewhere between resto & diner. The basic decor & paper placemats give a diner feel as well. But unlike a diner menu, the options are very limited. It's like they haven't decided what type of place they want to be and the result is an awkward atmosphere. The mac & cheese I ordered looked nothing like what is in the image from 3 years ago. They must have deteriorated in the last year, guessing they were better quality before I came here.

This place was great when it was the original Nouveau Palais with great greasy spoon pizzas and stuff but now it’s just another overpriced hipster douchbag hangout. Save your money and go someplace else

Burger here is easily the best I've ever had. Make sure to get the house-made mayonnaise. Made my night with how good that mayo was.

Beautiful meal for two for my fiance's birthday! Burger was one of the most flavourful I've ever tried. Fries were excellent. Kale salad was a fabulously bright and vinegary counterpart to the crispy fried chicken. Staff was super friendly and calm. Would definitely try again!

This chill spot consistently puts out delicious food. Come for the food and stay for the ambiance. It's a great brunch spot too - the miso mushroom omelette is highly recommended.

One of my favourite places in the mile end. The food is amazing and the vibe is so unique.

The burger is delicious. The bun, the meat, the cheese, everything about it was different and tasted so well together. I highly recommend paying the additional 1.50$ for cheese. It made such a difference. I hate when you can't taste the cheese in a cheeseburger.

Service is fast and efficient, the busboy was fun and helpful. The restaurant just has this aura of hipsterness and coolness. Everything comes together to make the experience different and out there. The place mats, the plates, the utensils, the music, the lights, everything works and is coherent and intensifies the experience.

Also worth mentioning is that their brunch is equally as nice. I got the chicken and waffle. I heard a lot about this from tv shows and never thought it actually existed anywhere near me so it was an awesome surprise. And it was excellent. I love chicken, I love waffles, I love maple syrup, there's no way combining those things together could end badly.

I've also had the lumberjack pancake from their brunch.yuuuum.

This is quite honestly the yummiest burger ever, I left Montreal almost a year ago and I still dream of it almost daily!

Always happy to come here late and grab a tasty burger and fries. Their sweet potato pie is beyond any pie I've ever had - home style and really made with love.

Service pitoyable, horrible. Our server messed up our food and drink order while he was too busy responding to my french with his english even though I'm french canadian. He was rude the entire duration of our visit. We did not get the food we ordered and our drinks were incorrect - not due to any fault on our part. Will never set foot in this place again, and will tell my friends how awful our experience was.

Very cozy. Maintained the name of the restaurant that was, upped the charm and comfort, and created heartier and healthier locally sourced grub gastronomic! Fully stocked bar. Street parking. Not rushed.

One of the best burgers I've ever had. Was visiting Montreal with my wife and decided to come here randomly. Such a great experience. You wouldnt know it just by looking at the place but the food is amazing. The staff are friendly.oh yeah, did I mention the food is amazing?

Un beau petit restaurant rustique. Ne pas se laisser tromper par son apparence douteuse, les repas y sont délicieux et abordables (on peut s'en tirer avec un repas complet pour 20$) d'ailleurs les frites sont délicieuse, je recommande à ceux qui cherchent un petit resto avec une ambiance chaleureuse et rustique.

Le poulet frit est décevant. Panure épaisse et sèche. Un pilon et un morceau sans chair. La salade de kale est constituée de feuilles de kale vinaigrette surmontées de marinades très ordinaires. Trop d'aïl dans la salade de chou qui baigne également dans le vinaigre.

Nouveau Palais’ comfort food is nothing close to comforting. This place has everything you may be looking for as in: cool vibe, hip decor, and late hours; yet in a weird unsettling way the food and drinks are simply under par. The Burger might save itself, but not at that price tag. In addition, drinks are serves in miniature glasses, worthy of an elementary school cafeteria.

One of my favourite burgers in Montreal! Excellent negroni. Cozy vibe. Perfect causal dining spot and reasonable pricing for plateau!

Nous sommes aller manger en fin de soirée entre amis, le service était courtois et le serveur était sympathique.
Mais pour la nourriture.j’aurais mis 0/5. Les portions sont minuscules pour le prix. Mais encore pire le goût immonde de la poutine. Je n’ai jamais manger quelque chose d’aussi dégoûtant. Je ne sais pas si on nous a servi le fonds restant de sauce brûlée, mais elle goûtait le concentré de boeuf pur. Jamais je ne recommanderais cette endroit.

Great spot for a cheap cocktail and no-frills dining during a late night binge around Montreal. The menu also features plenty of vegetarian options!

Pretty mediocre overall, service was good and prompt which was a plus. I had the chicken which was rather tasty but not out of this world, the salad was really over seasoned with vinaigrette and the portions didn't match the price to my mind.

Amazingly delicious burger! It has to be one of the best I have ever had, if not the best. Perfect ratio of bread to meat, cheese and lettuce. The bun was of a brioche buttery texture. The meat was perfectly salted. Did not feel oily after eating this. We took a poutine as well which was not memorable however. Reason for the 4 stars. Mac and cheese was ok but also not memorable. I would definitely go back and opt for the fried chicken, it is supposed to be a specialty.
Decor: the outside makes the place seem like an old diner but the inside takes you on an adventurous ride through time. Makes you feel like you have gone back in time. Nice dim lighting, well chosen colours.

Loved my visit here and will definitely go back and bring more people to try!
