Dr. Wooten, the optometrist, is respectable; however, the man behind the counter overcharged me for a pair of contacts and lied about the manufacturer.

I don't recommend this store for eye examination. Because the secratory was not respectfull at all. I will never go there.

I do agree with all the comments about the owner.
Super rude. We moved our business to the other place where Dr. Wooten works.
A few years back, I had a very stressful encounter with him that got me to tears, one of his employees calmed me down He didn't even realize how bad he was mistreating me. He called my husband the next day to apologize but at that point I didn't want to talk to him anymore.

Always great and friendly service. Personable style recommendations for glasses from the owner and have been ordering my contacts through them for years; they make it easy and efficient.

The person doing the exam was kind and patient but the guy in front was pushy. I needed a mild prescription of bi-focals and wanted to buy them online, which I only informed them about at the end of the exam. To do that I needed my PD listed on the prescription, which he then chose to charge me 20$ to do, first time I've encountered that. He was so intent on me buying my glasses with them rather than online that he insisted my prescription wasn't that strong and that I could just buy a pair of single prescription lenses for my near sighted-ness and simply lift them up to read things!

I do a lot of writing and drawing in classrooms and made that clear during the discussion, so his suggestion just seemed ridiculous to me. Sure, I'll spend 800$ more in a shop so I can spend half of my class putting my glasses up and down & increase my headaches from straining my eyes.

I'll be going to a different place next time, I've been suggested to one in the plateau that understands people with mild prescriptions would rather purchase online.

Everyone who works here is so kind and personable. I went there for the first time today and I was really impressed by their level of service. As someone who has been to many optometrists over the years, they definitely stand out as exceptional. Highly recommend!

Quaint place with educated staff, but they refuse to give you your prescription which is illegal because your medical records are your right. Do not recommend.

Last experience there was not so good. Lack of customer service and manner in a way they talk to clients. One lady in particular. I Guess that the current pandemic situation is hard on everyone but still not a way to go, Keep it up!

I needed a new pair of glasses in a hurry because my previous one had broken the night before. Robert (the owner) went out of his way to offer me an appointment for the eye exam within the same day and have my new glasses ready in two days. The staff was very courteous in helping me select the perfect frame for my face and was very considerate of my financial constraints.

The optometrist Dr. Wootten was very kind, professional, and knowledgeable, and readily offered a recheck of my prescription to relieve some of my concerns (I am by nature a very anxious individual).

This is a very student-friendly place: they are very knowledgeable about student insurance refunds and they offer a discount for students for the eye exam. I ended up paying $35 for the entire service and new glasses after the discounts and refunds. The proximity of this clinic to Concordia and McGill makes it the perfect place for students to go between two classes!

All the staff was friendly, and Dr. Ehrlick was especially helpful and attentive during my eye exam.he really took the time to understand my concerns and address them, if ever I need an eye exam again I will ask for him specifically!

I went there to renew an old contact lenses Rx.and was very impressed by the efficiency of staff and their knowledge. Great service, good prices (comparable to other downtown shops). Apparently, they are also good at dealing with student discounts through Universities and with insurance claims. Edit: 28-Nov-2016 They also do price match from Clearly Contacts. Yes yes! Goodbye clearly contacts. After ordering Friday, I had my contacts Tuesday. They leven threw in a free extra pair on contacts just in case my order had a problem. A+ customer care. 2020: still all true. Amazing service. Their optometrist Steve is also very pleasant. 5/5 recommended

First time coming in for an eye exam as well as a new pair of glasses (or two!) since mine was showing its age. The staff are great to talk to, enjoyable, well-informed about any student refunds and for glasses (as far as I know), and the optometrist answered all the questions I asked about anything I was curious about the exam. But what's also amazing is that they were able to do all of that while also being their first open day after their holiday vacation!

As a health professional for almost three decades, I felt compelled to write a review regarding my exceptional service experience at Optique Town. First; Trisha and later Robert Marie, took their time to help me choose glasses. Their knowledge, guidance and patience was more than uber helpful. The quality of the frames was excellent.and the prices were surprisingly very reasonable.

This was only matched by the quality of the eye exams. Because of their cutting edge equipment- which Robert Marie confirmed is continuously updated with the very best that is available - the eye exam was very very thorough. The optometrist checked for glaucoma, eye pressure, cataracts and more and concluded with a verification of my eye prescription. This was so reassuring to me and I especially truly appreciated not only their professional competence but the staff was so welcoming and gracious.

I completely agree with the one star reviews, they do sell cheap lenses and don’t allow you to ask what you paid for. When I wanted more information about brand, index, abbe value, they started to act uncomfortable and gave vague answers. I had the experience with them over a year ago but finally got a refund so I didn’t leave a review and wanted just to leave them alone. But last week I heard from a friend who’s also a concordia student, she complained to me that it’s been 10 months since she got glasses from Optique Town and she’s still feeling dizzy. She couldn’t even wear them to drive. So I feel I have to put a reminder here for all the future customers, make sure to be very careful. Cheap lenses do hurt your eyes.

Roller coaster experience.

First off, Dre. April Wootten is one of the best out there! She is very professional and will make you feel very comfortable. Koodos to her!

The reason I didn’t give a 5 stars is caused by the unprofessionalism of the front. At first I was greeted by a chinese lady who showed me a few frames but nothing forceful, thank you.
When it came time to pay, I was told it was going to be 85$ for the eye exam. I was very surprised as when I had called to book the appointment, the person had told me it’s 60$ for an eye exam and the day before the eye exam, a mister called me to confirm and I even confirmed the 60$ with him. So now we’re at the counter and another lady with absolutely 0 empathy or care for normal human interaction told me it’s 60$ for students and 85$ for normal people. I tried to explain to her no one told me it’s 85$, if I had known I would’ve went to the new look that I usually go to as it’s same price. I told her to double check with the person that called me to confirm the appointment or her superior. She told me the guy’s name is Robert and that she cannot call him because he’s in the hospital for a surgery for his wife.
No other solution and almost made it feel like it was my fault?

Honestly if she could be just a bit nicer, I wouldn’t even mind paying 85$ as Dre. April Wootten is THAT good!

The western front lady’s attitude just made me feel like I was going through some scam in thailand where now you’re forced to pay.

Thankfully the chinese lady told me to just pay 65$ (because I mistakenly told her that I was told it was 65$ instead of 60$).

If you ever decide to come here, make sure you’re aware about the fees as the money hustling is real.

I've had a wonderful experience at this place. The optician was professional and knowledgeable and super friendly With the sense of humor. I got the prescription and my contact lenses. I was wanna try a new brand but they suggest me to stay with the brand That I used to have. LOL I got my lenses but don't know why there is no box. But whatever, I got a free 60ml care solution which is nice.

I bought a pair of new glasses that used the optomerist's wrong prescription, but they didn't want to take responsibility. In the beginning, I went to Optique Town to check my eyes because my eyes feel uncomfortable at that time. The optometrist (the old man) told me that I need to change my glasses and gave me a new prescription. Then, I went to Newlook to buy my new glasses. When I wore my new glasses, Iwould immediately feel sick and dizzy, and sometimes I even vomited all the things I ate. I went to Optique Town to recheck, and the optometrist just changed it back to the old prescription and told the degree for the new prescription is too strong for me. However, they won't compensate anything to change the lens of the new glasses, and they just asked me to talk with NewLook. Their attitudes are so rude and tried their best to find excuses to avoid responsibility. They told me 50 degree of change is normal and because I didn't buy the new glasses from here, they didn't have any responsibility. At the same time the owner of the store teach me how to lie to Newlook to solve this issue, such as I didn't like this glasses or I felt uncomfortable, so I want to return it. Now, I feel so sad because I have to talk to NewLook for this problem again. I want to tell everybody that tries you to avoid this store! It is my worst experience ever.

If i could give zero stars i would. Got prescription lenses and frame at this shop then a year later i changed optometrist because i was living in a different part of town. My new optometrist analyzed the lenses that were on the glasses i got here, and they had a different prescription in different parts of the lens. This is a sign of cheap material and low quality lens. My current optometrist also told me that there is a good chance that my rayban clubmaster frame was a fake.

I had such a wonderful experience in this place. Robert the optician is very professional, helpful and funny (he makes me feel comfortable). The process of finding a frame was fast because I know what style I want and I end up getting a very good quality frame.

Received racist treatment. The guy at the reception area asked me if my name was Precious like the movie precious because i am a black woman. He talked to me like i was 5 years old. I filled out a form, Then i was not assisted nor told to wait. So i started to try glasses on which is a very normal thing to do. The guy at the reception called me out asking if i wanted frames i said yes. Then he called his coworker and said "watch your stuff helen" as if i was there to steal glasses. The lady came and was talking to me like i was going to attack her while i was really calm and just trying glasses. I live above an eye glasses store, people just try on glasses it is a normal thing. But they insisted that they needed to assist which is okay if it is their special internal rules but the way the sales woman was talking to me like i was a mad person was insulting. Her eyes were filled with discuss. If you are a racialized person i advice to not give these racists a dime.
