Found everything I was looking for with the help of some nice lady working there and for so much cheaper than if I ordered online (which is my only option living in a remote area)
It is usually crowded and the aisles are narrow. Early in the morning on a week day is the quietest time of the day. Opening hours are not very convenient. Vegetables are more on the pricier side. They have soy beam paste, tofu and mochi which is why I come here sometimes. When paying in cash always check your change in front of the cashier before even moving away. Staff not really friendly and they don't seem to understand French or English so you have to spend some time checking the store trying to find what you need.
Small Asian market, all the essentials are there. However, they have a grab and go prepared food section, worth picking something up and heading out to a park to eat. Love their fried rolls, duck and when they have, the fried chicken. Prices are cheap for the prepared food.
Clean, well lit, prices clearly displayed. Great selection of products for a neighbourhood asian grocery store - all the basics you need for most asian menus. Prices a little high compared to the big boys Kim Phat and Marche Newon. Superb prices for raw chicken and pork. Great Bbq duck!
We bought sapote fruit there for a hefty price but since it was wrapped up in packaging couldn’t see that is was completely rotten. Disgusting and waste of money.
This is a nice Asian grocery store in the neighborhood. Not as big than other Asian grocery stores such as Kim Phat, so there's not much variety but the product prices are competitive. There's a butcher and a bakery sections including the famous Banh Mi sandwich. The Asian cashiers greet you in French even if you're Asian probably because of the multi-ethnic neighborhood. There's a lack of space of packing your purchases and you have to drop your bags when you go inside the store.
I came here for the prepared deli items and did not realize there was also a sandwich banh mi counter until seeing someone else order it. They have a special for 2 for $10 with a free pop. I initially asked for a standard jambon but there was only one baguette left as the previous order revised theirs from chicken. This worked out great for me to try something different and was I ever delighted! It was absolutely fantastic and much better than the jambon in my opinion. I like my sandwiches spicy with the red eye Thai chili peppers and it's used here along with plenty of pickled veggies and cilantro. Would most definitely come back again for the chicken banh mi special, the desserts and the kind female team member who helped me at the deli counter - she was seamless in switching between English, French and Vietnamese as any customer came by.
Most of your needs can be fulfilled here if Chinatown is too far away. Try the freshly prepared bánh mì from the kiosk near the entrance. Very good prices on most items, too.
Good little Asian grocery store. Doesn't have a lot of snacks and fun things, but definitely has everything you need to cook a good meal. They also sell pork and some meals which are quite good and worth giving a try.
Very good asian market but lacking in selection for some items you would expect to find. Prices are also higher than others such as G&D. Overall it is a very good asian grocery if you live nearby, but if you need to travel to get to one you may as well go to G&D in China Town.
My go-to place to get Asian ingredients, veggies, snacks, and instant noodles. Their own stuff and imported products are always fresh. People are friendly and nice, lots of times they offered me help in Vietnamese until they realized that I don't speak any. I like the Vietnamese taro desserts and sandwiches they serve at the entrance. The down side of this place is that is very small. The aisles are so packed among each other, and when there are more than 2 people in one aisle, it's impossible to cross without bumping at each other or respecting social distancing here. I tried different timing to do my shopping but there are always lots of aunties shopping around and chit chatting whenever you go. They should really think of expanding or make the shopping flow more effective.
Interesting asian store in the jean talon area. Big selection of fresh fish. Abondance of packaged goods from asia. A rather split change vs canada made super markets. Try! Worth the change. Prices ok. Staff helpful.
We visited Montreal and went there as a market nearby our bnb place. Very nice selection of Vietnamese foods, good prices, and I definitely like the “legumes marines” and pork bbq there.
The Oriental Market usually has every basic need you'll need for Asian cooking. Lots of spices (though in bags or packs), most of the basic veges, a lot of good fresh meat (albeit, mostly the darker parts of meat or offal pieces), an almost overwhelming tea section, frozen packed sea foods, and even decent kitchenware (for Asian cuisine like woks). The biggest downside with such a conpact environment is, of course, finding the ingredients you need. Bring your reading glasses and do your squats because you'll be going up and down those isles and reading small letters.
I buy snack, banana and pay with my debit card but they said its Credit Card. How can they can say that? ! Its my Debit Card! I dont have Credit Card. Extremely annoying! They set the CC code to the machine of course when I put my card its not work. Bad Cashier! I challenge all of you go to the bank for check my Debit Card. Im turis here so I will never find stupid problem.
I think it's in Saturday where you can have the most amazing experience in this place. I love the variety of choices. I was there during Christmas days. Very funny and goood food.
Love it! Little gem on St-Denis.if you're an Asian food lover it's one of the place to be shopping. The butcher shop in the back of the store is incredibly clean and appealing. Bravo! Keep up the good work. Oh. Don't forget to grab something for lunch, made fresh daily from papaya salad to shrimp spring rolls and much more you can't be dissapointed
