Meilleur soupe Tonkinoise à Montréal. Excellent bouillon. Ma préférée: #43 poulet grillé et légumes.

As someone went there for years, how bad their attitude would be to stop me from going anymore? Their attitudes have alway been rude, from the waiters to the owner, they make you feel like you owe them something. The only variable is to what extend their rudeness will be for today. And they force you to pay by cash, or else they can make a cut from the handling fee of the ATM machine sitting next to the counter. Might be worthwhile for CRA to investigate their tax claims.

Had a very bad experience, service is awful and food is less than ok.save your time and money.

Well I strongly suggest everybody stay away from this restaurant.
1) Cash only does not matter you are a group with more than ten people spent a few hundred dollars or a single person they have ATM machine besides the counter intentionally forced you to get cash and earn extra money from ATM transactions plus pay less tax.
Obviously CRA needs to get involved to investigate this.
2) everybody has to have to order and this rules not at entrance door or on the wall or on the menu.
3) I am not happy with the service and decided not pay for tips. A very rude guy came to me forced me to pay tips and this guy looks like gang member.
Well I think CRA needs to get involved to audit them.
Stay away from this place.

Service was absolute garbage, rude, reluctant and ghosted after providing the food. Jaded owner/management asked for tips in the middle of payment. Food is solid, def worth trying, but honestly getting takeout next time.

Almost got scammed for lunch today. The price on the hand written receipt was a lot more expensive compared to the printed receipt. They didn’t give us the printed receipt at first and only after we paid and realized that the meal was unreasonably expensive that they gave us a refund after printing out the actual receipt. Also unapologetic afterwards

Took over 30 mins for 2 bowls of Pho. Clearly they had forgotten. Food came out but portions were really really small. This place used to be good long ago, but now it's a tourist trap. Pho was bland and flavorless.

Was craving pho last Friday. Pho soup is tasteless. The quality really dropped. The servers are rude. They don't space out the tables. So you're practically eating on top of each other. Would've has a better meal at home eating instant noodles.

Super rude worker on Sunday Dec 11 at 11: 30am. Yelled at us for not hearing him telling us to wait before being seated. He told us he doesn’t need our business. Do yourself a favour, go to pho tay ho.

It's a good location for pickup, so I go a few times, and every time I go there, I always have a bad experience, but this time I decided not to forget it and leave a review.
The owner is greedy, the service is terrible and the too many tables are set up like a refugee camp. Seeing people sitting there eating is pathetic.

(Edited review: After visiting multiple times here, I realize the owner lady is so unkind. She literally asked for tips and the other day, I ordered two dishes to go but at the end I got the wrong dishes. I was really disappointed. However, their noodle soup is just too good to not go back.)

Best pho in town imo.
Do yourself a favor and try the weekend special spicy soup. You will be surprised with the good taste and the generous amount of beef.

La soupe est simplement délicieuse et très généreuse. Ils ont aussi les meilleurs rouleau de printemps en ville!

Not bad, busy spot. Fairly pricey but good portion for the XL. Service could be a little better and more attentive but overall good for what it is.

Not happy. I'm love tendons in my soup and it is written on their menu that the special pho has some. I was extremely disappointed to see that there's wasn't any in my bowl. When I called the restaurant to communicate my displeasure the lady at the front desk told me they stop offering tendons 20 years ago (they should update their menu then). She was rude and hung up on me.

Came here as a visitor seeing those good reviews and disappointedly it was the worst Pho place I’ve ever had.
- The Pho broth was bland, so much cilantro in it which is not supposed to be.
It tasted just like salt and msg
- The service was really rude
- It is CASH ONLY even though THERE IS NO SIGN AT THE FRONT. If you don’t have cash, there is a machine inside for you to take cash with a charge of $2.75. That means they will earn you another $2.75. Ridiculous, still have this kind of tricky business in 2021.

Pas trop cher. Pas de carte paiement cash uniquement. Nourriture simple. Il faut venir tôt vers 11h30 pour lunch la salle se remplit vite.

Just went there tonight. Was quite disturbed that two of the waiters and the female cashier "wore" masks that covered their mouths but not their noses. Definitely not a safe environment to be eating in.

Also they didn't have any basil for the pho! That's pretty much mandatory. Instead they just gave a pile of sprouts and cilantro.

One of the best Vietnamese food in the city, actually is my favourite.

I won't give it 5 stars because the service has to improve a lot.

That Bun Bo Hue taste I was searching for. Authentic southern style BBH found.
It is not a big place so it is somewhat limited in seating. BBH is only available Friday-Sunday and comes in Large or XL.

My favourite place to come for Vietnamese broken rice dishes. I didn't visit them for more than 4 years and everything is still great from price, size, service. Highly recommend rice dishes

Le restaurant est beau et propre. J'ai essayé la traditionnelle soupe pho au boeuf saignant et elle était très bonne, quoique j'aimais mieux le bouillon de Pho Cali qui a malheureusement fermé. J'ai essayé le dessert arc-en-ciel qui était bien aussi quoiqu'assez surprenant au look lorsque mangé pour la première fois:)

Ce restaurant n'a clairement plus besoin que nous faisions des commentaires de ce genre pour faire ses preuves. C'est probablement l'institution montréalaise de la soupe tonkinoise (Pho)!

De plus, à mon grand plaisir, j'y ai découvert récemment les Ca Phe qui m'ont ramené le temps de quelques gorgées au Vietnam. Un café fort, de la glace, du lait condensé. Un DÉ-LI-CE.

Way too much cilantro in everything

Food is barely okay. But service is terrible. I asked 5 times for water and finally came after short complaint. Will not go again.

You can smell the pho from a block or 2 away. That’s where I consider authentic quality. The meat is so fresh and generous. The noodle is perfectly cooked. Probably one of the best pho we’ve had.

Outstanding, reliable, delicious. This place bangs out bullseye after bullseye, time after time. A reason to live in Montreal.

Bad service to take order on phone, the guy just spoke with me a moment didn’t understand what I want also cut off the line during I asked him about their menu. I’m not recommend to order on phone to this place. I’ll disappointed.

There is a waiter (young) who does not know how to talk to customers, he is rude and ignored me because I wanted to changed my seat to another more comfortable. It’s a cheap place to eat, but a bad service to people. They probably just care about the amount of people more than giving a good impression. I’m very offended, and I am not coming back. I also want to highlight ithatvf you look for good service, smiley and friendly people, pay a little more there a plenty of good places around the area.

Three Words: Authentic, Delicious and Clean.

Context:
Decided to come with a friend because they like authentic food and we didn't regret it. The portion size was great compared to other places. We left with our tummies full and satisfied. Simple but amazing.

Was there today for late lunch with my mom. Was really disappointed in the food. Definetly has changed since the last time i was there. Prices increased. Soup Broth lacked flavor. Shrimp spring roll didn't have any vermicelli. They gave coriande instead of thai basil.

Cash only? The owner demanded tips in cash only but it’s doesn’t show on bills. Slow and impolite service from the waiter; gave us
attitude when requesting help.

Besides the inconvenience of accepting only cash, this is one of the best pho. Out of all the pho restaurants, I came back to this place the most. The the broth and the beef are simply amazing. A hot bowl of delicious soup during winter is the best remedy against the Montreal cold.

Service was decent, as for the food, the rolls were good. It's not the best pho in Montreal, as written in other comments.

Love the vermicelli, the meats are always juicy and deliciously seasoned. Very reasonably priced, most are 10-13$ a meal. Definitely one of my favorite places in Chinatown.

Ni allez pas pour le service, ils sont toujours dans le jus! Il est possible que vous attendiez un peu à la porte également. Il y a plus de 15 ans maintenant que j'y mange et je dois dire que la qualité a légèrement diminuée dans les dernières années, en particulier en ce qui à trait à la tendreté de la viande. N'empêche, ça reste un excellent resto avec un bouillon de pho sublime. Pour cela, je donne encore 4 étoiles.

Honnêtement c’était le premier restaurant viet que j’ai mangé. Ma première fois c’était avec ma mère et son amie. Puit la suite on mange souvent la bas ma mère et moi. Je commande encore de la bas pour emporter. Le restaurant est toujours remplit ce qui est bon pour le bussiness. Très recommander!

It had very nice food. My soup had tendons in it which was a first for me and I was pleasantly surprised!

Seriously disappointed in the taste of the broth. It was super watered down and tasted like noodles in water. I've been coming here for years and this will likely be my last time. Service was less than stellar, they don't give you any green vegetables anymore other than a few strands of coriander. The portion was generous, but what does it matter if it tastes like water?

C'est la meilleure soupe bun bo huê que j'ai mangé à Montréal. Je l'ai essayé maintenant à 7 endroits différents à Montréal et c'est ma meilleure. J'aime toutes leur soupes et on a droit à un bel accueil pendant cette période covid. Le bouillon est très chaud même pour emporter. C'est déjà prêt à servir avec leurs bols pour emporter si vous n'avez pas de grand bol vietnamien chez vous. Pour ma part, l'un des meilleurs endroit à Montréal pour l'expérience soupe repas.

J'y ai trouvé la nourriture souhaiter. Servi dans un français impeccable, respectueux envers la clientèle.

Doesn't take debit or credit, has an ATM. You can have good pho for cheap (around 9 - 12$). Overall hygiene is questionable.

Love their Bun Bo Hue in the weekend. Need to come early since they sold out so fast. Meat always fresh and generous portion for your soup. Service is fast and people are super nice and friendly there. “Ca phe sua da” (Vietnamese coffee with condense milk and ice) is good, too. Bring your cash, can’t pay with cards here.

I haven't tried other Pho restaurant but this one is good enough to come back again. I had the one with three toppings of raw and cooked beef and beef belly. Like the free tea.

La money hungry doyenne à la caisse qui quête le pourboire quand c’est le moment de payer.on repassera! Le pourboire c’est personnel, si je croit que t’en mérites je vais t’en donner. En plus j’y suis allé pour la soupe épicée seulement disponible les fins de semaine, et il en restait plus. J’ai pris du poulet grillé sur vermicelli trop cuit. Service médiocre.
Bon pour les gens qui ne savent pas cuisiner et qu’ils ne veulent pas payer cher.

Authentic Vietnamese pho, quick service and quality broth and meats. Even have gum thoughtfully for sale by the register in case you wanna make out with your date and don't want ro smell like delicious Vietnamese food ;)

Rapide et abordable, Pho Bang offre des mets à faire saliver. Ils offrent du thé au jasmin complimentaire pour vous ouvrir l'appétit en attendant votre repas. Difficile de battre le rapport qualité-prix de ce restaurant vietnamien qui est rapidement devenue un arrêt de choix pour mes amis, ma famille et moi.

Le service était rapide et les prix abordables. Le serveur était amical et a bien répondu à mes questions. Essayez les rouleaux impériaux pour accompagner votre soupe, ils sont très bons!

Best pho I’ve ever had in my life. Five years after leaving Montreal I still miss this place. So far I haven’t found any pho restaurants better than this one.

Vraiment délicieux, la soupe n'est pas trop salé et le service est excellent et très rapide.et de plus une grande soupe coûte 10$ taxes incluses. Si vous passer par-là, faut aller les encourager. Un gros bravo!

We ordered the Pho and it is really tasty. The one in the Picture is the "complete one". The price is really good, about 10 dollars just and you can"t complain you are hungry after having one of these. They serve also a hot tea that is included in the meal.

I am vietnamese and eat vietnamese food daily. The restaurant has a very beautiful ambiente. The food is very fresh and delicious. The service is really kind and the food arrives very fast! The Toillete is very clean as well. If you like vietnamese cuisine I can only recommend it to you!

Bring cash. No credit or debit cards. ATM on location but unless you want to pay high fees.avoid it.

As for the food, this place is my yard stick for Pho and spring rolls. The peanut sauce is mind bogglingly good
