Pigeon Café

This is a very nice cafe but food and service are not the best especially relative to price

I was very disappointed with my food we were 4and shocked by the food which was not fresh hard bread sandwich was terrible eggs were cold I am not convinced that this restaurant has skilled cooks and they are not checking what they are prepar9and serving us too expensive nothing on the plates very big disappointment.

The restaurant has an adorable ambiance and a pleasant atmosphere, though the music was a tad too loud. The food and coffee were enjoyable. While our waiter was friendly, there was a slight delay in their service. I appreciate the convenience of being able to make reservations at this place!

Finally A nice coffee shop in ville saint Laurent. Great service and by far amazing coffee. The BLT with salad has great flavours. Highly recommend this place, and wait for the Terrasse to open.

I like the vibe of this place and the food is delicious and really original.
Great for lunch and brunch.

I ordered a great breakfast meal with whole-hearty foods: eggs, diced oven fried potatoes and cheddar cheese.

Service très mauvais, j'ai essayé l'endroit plusieurs fois vu qu'il venait d'ouvrir en se disant aussi que le personnel est encore en formation mais au bout de la 5eme fois, avoir tjr un service aussi long et déplorable et le gérant qui vient protester que c'est pas a cause de la cuisine que ma commander est en retard. Alors que c'est la serveuse qui nous a complètement oublié. Bref a part le beau local. Le service et l'ambiance sont médiocres.

Our food was very good but had to send back our daughter's pancake back twice because it was undercooked.

It's kid friendly in the sense that there's room for strollers and highchairs but there is no kid menu. Pancakes and a fruit salad (berries and melons) was more expensive than each of our meal.

Definitely worth a try but make reservations.

I was so excited to see a Pigeon Café near my place as I've been a lover of there coffee since I discovered it. I walked in ordered my coffee and as I was waiting for my coffee I noticed several plates with jokes, one of which was "men are creatures of habit, bad habits" None of the other jokes were targeting anyone, as if this was the case I wouldn't of cared but clearly this was deliberate misandry.
Dispicable and unfortunate as I would have seen myself going there quite frequently.

Tried their dinner menu for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Loved their pesto pasta!

Une experience tres décevante au niveau de l'accueil. Je n'ai jamais vu un client aussi humilié! Je suis entrée et ai identifié une table vide en attente de mon invitée, un serveur s'est adressé a moi convivialement pour me demander et a mon invitée si nous avons fait un choix, le tout passe bien, jusqu'à ce qu'en plein mode consomation de nos plats, un autre serveur ou je ne sais si c'etait le superviseur, s'est adressé à moi en me disant verbalement: madame tu as pris une table réservée et j une cliente qui est frustrée! Tu n'aurais pas dû le faire et tu dois t'excuser et LA PROCHAINE FOIS NE LE FAITS PLUS! No comment! J'ai bien repondu qu'aucune carte de réservation n'etait sur la table et j'essayait poliment de le convaincre que de leur côté qu'ils devraient gerer mieux leurs affaires mais tout tendu n'arretait de m'interrompre et me demander de m'excuser! Même en lui proposnt de changer la table, il refusait de m'ecouter et répète sans cesse que je dois m'excuser! Toute humiliée, moi qui a visité des endroits les plus humbles aux plus chics je n'ai jamais vu de telle humiliation! J'ai voulu retourner pour parler au manager mais je pense que c'est inutile!

Tres difficile de trouver une place, la logistique d attribution de table n est pas facile…. C est le bordel! On vous laisse attendre de côté, personne ne s occupe de nous. Décevant ….

Food was just okay. Waiter not attentive at all. Received our food, but only knives and it would take 5-10 minutes before finding him again and ask utensils. The music was louder than at a club. Everyone had to shout to talk making the place even louder. Not a good experience and not going back.

I went to see the new Pigeon Cafe on Cote Vertu.

I have been following the feel good story of Sean from Arthur's to NDB and now next door at the Pigeon.

Who would dare to call their restaurant with the name of a dirty bird known to leave droppings on cars without consideration for make or model?

I didn't know that the Pigeon already had a roost on Monkland.

On arrival I asked to see the menu.   I blame myself for not bringing my reading glasses and the management for not having a larger font.

The interior is impressive and roomy with comfy couches, a spectacular Pigeon mural tastefully done, trees mid floor and a nicely segmented bar with plenty of potential.

I am ushered to a corner couch and shortly thereafter a young lady comes over to ask me if I need anything. I didn't see the portable computer slung behind her hip so I was momentarily on another page on which I won't pursue it!

The menu is a combination of American breakfast staples and Middle Eastern /Moroccan favorites. Prices are high. I am from the old school where inflation was just a dirty word rather than an omnipresent reality.

I ordered a Mediterranean toast with a
poached egg and a hold on the goat cheese $22 before tax. A latte would have made the bill $34.50 before tip.

Everything, the avocado, cherry tomatoes, radish and the goat cheese, which they forgot to hold, was flat. The pistachio nuts and the cornbread were the only memorable items.

Opinion: if one is to charge elevated prices, the quid pro quo is the heightened freshness of all that is served must be a constant like in the Middle East.

Otherwise the beautiful bird on the wall will soon turn into a turkey.

Parking and wait staff were good

The restaurant on Cote Vertu is only open 3weeks and last night was the first night open for dinner

Maybe I should be accused of being the Grinch that stole Christmas or guilty of an unfair opinion because of the short time that the restaurant is open.

Second Review.

So I went to try out the Pigeon Cafe on Cote Vertu for a second time to do justice to a less than complimentary review at the outset.

I went with a business associate. He is a finicky eater. No meat no this, no that! To my amazement, the place had a vibe in the middle of the afternoon.

My guest ordered a Mediterranean Toast consisting of smashed avocado, chick peas, radish, tomatoes and goat cheese. The serving was a mountain of fresh ingredients that he devoured with a near clean empty plate as proof of his enjoyment.

I ordered a Pigeon Special, a grilled sandwich filled with smoked meat, salami and turkey heightened by a Russian dressing It was delicious though not for the faint of heart.
Coffee was not memorable. I should have tried a cappuccino.

The bathroom and the floor were spotless.

As well I learned something after a visit to Cora' s two days later. Prices there are no different than at Pigeon Cafe.

Food inflation and a shortage of labor have resulted in big price increases on restaurant menus everywhere.

As such, I remind you that
sticker shock is a take it or leave it proposition!

Sorely dissapointed by the Omlette I ordered for 19.65. Poorly rolled version of an Omlette that was watery on the inside. Two measly pieces of dried out bread wedges. The salad was the main body of the meal. I never felt so ripped off in a breakfast place.

Went yesterday late morning for breakfast. While it was crowded, we did get a table for 4.

The menu has a nice variety. We ordered the Cilbir, which was good and the shakshuka wasn't bad either. The French Toast casserole was good but the Pancakes were terrible and burnt (they got nothing on Arthur's). Their coffee tasted burnt also. They did rework the final bill a bit, which was nice of them.

Either I'd go back on the weekdays or try the other locations. I believe the new one opening in downtown soon will be MUCH better.

I wanted to like this place cause of the cozy decor, but the service really let me down. The food was good but the coffee tasted awful

Perfect vibe for a date or a hangout. Gorgeous decor, plenty of seating, and fresh flowers on every table. It's the little details that make Pigeon Café feel so warm and welcoming!

Already tried the one in Monkland so now that they got closer, it was a no brainer. Love shakshoukas and pancakes. Must try!
