Pikolo Espresso Bar

Je ne me suis attardé qu’une quinzaine de minutes au Pikolo, donc, tandis que j’écris encore cette première ligne de texte, je crains que cette critique ne soit pas très élaborée. D’abord, j’ai eu une énième confirmation que je ne suis pas friand des boissons glacées (thé, café), peut-être parce qu’on y déverse trop de glaçons, avec comme résultat cette sensation de ne siroter que de l’eau aromatisée. En somme, mon thé glacé bleuet et rooibos m’a laissé… de glace.

L’espresso Pikolo et son fort caractère sont revenus rebalancer les choses. Le café est de qualité, le dosage bien réussi et la température était adéquate. Refaire le plein de caféine dans ce charmant café de taille modeste, où chaque détail a été pensé avec soin pour créer une ambiance intime et accueillante, est plaisant. L'intérieur est élégamment décoré, mais dans une sobriété qui respire le bon goût. Les palettes de bois du comptoir, les murs blancs et les lampes métalliques suspendues créent une atmosphère apaisante, au même titre que les plantes en pot et accrochées au mur.

Malgré sa petite taille, l'espace est utilisé de manière astucieuse, avec des tables bien espacées qui créent une sensation d'intimité. Le soleil couchant y jetait un peu d’obscurité qui invitait à la détente, ce qui en faisait un lieu idéal pour se retirer et déguster un café tranquille après une longue journée de déambulation dans la ville.

Malencontreusement, mon souvenir le plus « fort » - vous conviendrez de l’ironie - est le goût dilué de mon thé glacé. En revanche, il ne semblait pas déplaire à ma partenaire du jour.

Pista étant fermé, j'ai essayé le Pikolo pour un matcha latté glacé cependant, ce fut un lait glacé au matcha.dommage. Vraiment moins cher qu'ailleurs mais aucun goût.

Good quality coffee, nice space to sit and work there, gave a 4-star since the staff are not really nice/welcoming

Le service, les café et l'ambiance sont merveilleux. Mais je pense que la musique c'est trop forte.

Great place, only 3 things that bothered me

1- Not to many outlets to charge

2- Employees chitchat was on a higher volume than I would have liked ‍

3- Wish there was more comfortable seats, they’re all wood so you can’t seat for too long

The new location is very nice, warm, and welcoming. It feels a little smaller than the old place (I think it was on du Parc), but that doesn't take away from the cozy atmosphere. There is bench seating infront of the window overwatching a park. I couldn't spot many/any outlets, so if you want to get some work done here, better bring a full battery.

The food was good, but really, you go here for the coffees. I had a great latte, the foam was decorated like you'd see on instagram. It was great and a cold winter day.

I bought coffee beans to give out in some gift baskets and everyone who's tried the coffee has loved it. It is also ethically sourced, which is a great bonus.

10/10 would go again if I'm in the area.

Kiara is my favourite barista at Pikolo! She's always smiling, and my favourite part of the day is seeing her work her magic on the beautiful coffee machines. Get the flat white for sure!

Passed by around 2 PM and decided to stop and give it a try as I was freezing. Coffee was good, not a lot of variety of baked goods when I was there but got a scone.
However, I cannot rate this place any higher nor recommend it because of it was not clean, there were flies everywhere around the coffee machine. It was far from hygienic.

Votre sac de café Mélange maison est tellement bon! De loin le meilleur, si vous aimez un café pas trop torréfié, juste assez pour faire ressortir les notes de fruits, caramel et chocolat. Miam

Have to admit i was sad they moved as this was always my go-to when staying downtown and the new location is a bit further away. But it was well worth it. Great coffee, great service and the new digs are really nice.

I really don’t get the fuss, the coffee was okay, I’ve had way better coffees in this city. It’s cute and cozy but nothing special.

Great espresso, make sure to try the pumpkin spice latte in the fall while it's available

They serve delicious cold coffee with orange hint, barista was friendly, nice music, loved the experience and will come again!

Bright space, good wifi and solid place to work. Not too many outlets, but you can find one. Staff are super nice! Hate to be basic but the pumpkin spice latte was really really good.

No electric wall plugs for laptops or phones and over-priced coffee. I have a feeling the owner do not want people to stay there.

Un nouvel emplacement de choix! Situé au coeur du quartier des spectacles, ce café est un incontournable. Café savoureux! On y retourne!
