In response to the negative review from Adam Beswick concerning his failed upgrade: Plusgrade provides services to the airlines. The airlines themselves administer the programs, so calling Plusgrade is not the correct course of action if your upgrade payment attempt is flagged by your bank.

What does happen if your upgrade payment fails is the system sends you an email asking you to either a) confirm the charge with your bank and submit a request to retry or b) enter new credit card information and submit a request to retry.

Of course this email may end up in your spam folder, so it is a good idea to check for the email there if you get a notice from your bank about a declined payment.

I have used this service successfully a number of times with different airlines, and it is a wonderful experience to fly in a better seat for a fraction of the direct purchase price. I'm also employee number 4 of the company.
