Residence Inn by Marriott Montreal Downtown

This should be a 4 star hotel but the elevator situation alone will ruin your experience. Adding insult to misery the hallways are not air conditioned at all leaving you to sweat while waiting as long as 10 minutes to get an elevator. And for those suggesting using the stairs, can't bring a weeks worth of stuff from the 18tg floor. Avoid until the situation is rectified.

My new truck was stolen from this hotel parking. They contract with impark as contractor. Hotel staff are the one you will charge you for the parking and tell exactly where to go and park by giving you the printout as attached in the pictures. I stayed in room 404. Hotel supervisor confirmed that many vehicles have been stolen from this property before. Police is unable to help and mentioned to speak to my insurance who also mentioned that the vehicle is almost on its way to exit the country by port. The camera quality is not good confirmed by the police as they have seen many case at this hotel. Seems like insider gig.

Great experience staying at Residence Inn during New Years. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous. Would highly recommend this hotel as it’s also in a good location which makes it very easy to get to places. The staff was also very kind and helpful.

Front desk person (forgot her name) was exceptionally nice. Just a very polite warm greeting and helped out with the parking situation given my car was too big. Location was great. Rooms were nice, kitchen was well equipped. All for a nice low price. Close to shopping areas.

Everything you expect from a suite hotel. With the expected kitchen (careful all the basic hardware, but no condiments, no butter, no salt, etc) living room and bedroom. This feels more like a small apartment than a hotel and is a great place to stay on longer trips when you don't want a bit more space and/or don't want to eat out every night.

My partner and I were visiting Montreal for our anniversary, and got scammed by our Air BnB! After speaking with Eric (supervisor) at the Marriott, not only did we get an awesome room at the last minute, but they were kind enough to make us a gift basket to make up for our bad experience! We thought this was awesome, since it wasn’t even their fault we had a rough start to our weekend. 10/10 would go back again!

It is a cozy and clean hotel with welcoming staff. I stayed in a two-guest suit and every thing was good.

Hotel is comfortable and affordable, but it's far too large of a building for the amenities. You will regularly wait 5-10 minutes for an elevator in the morning and evening. I ended up taking the stairs instead multiple times, which was fine on the 5th floor but may not have been tolerable on the 28th! Breakfast was also way too limited for the size of the hotel: They warn you that breakfast is busy in signs throughout the building but haven't seemed to have tried to fix the issue, even though if you go down as late as 8: 15 you may be left with only cold cereal. All in all it's OK but I wish I'd paid $20 more for a better experience.

Pretty good budget hotel in great location - walking distance to McGill village. Staff is helpful and I got replenishment of body wash within minutes of request. Everything was clean. The breakfast is pretty standard - not many vegetarian options. There was construction out front in September so bit of a dodging game getting around it to entrance.

Hi y'all! Still staying here due to work and I have to say, if I need to have a second home this is it. Loving the staff and our room. It is amazing!

Very nice stay, staff was very friendly, and the room was exceptionally clean.
Other than a noisy neighbour and the food at breakfast it was a very nice stay.

Would have given 4 stars except the price was way too high (we were a little desperate). Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was a little dated but clean and the kitchenette was good. Reception parking was not always available and there was construction everywhere around the hotel. Our room faced an area blocked in by other building and was therefore more quiet than normal for a city hotel. Breakfast was OK and COVID friendly but very basic

Very kind staff, came here last minute after a disaster with reservations in another hotel down the street. Found us a room and checked us in within no time. They were kind enough to send a basket of goodies for our anniversary as well. Very thoughtful and accommodating!

We absolutely loved it! It was affordable and our room was very comfortable and even had a mini-kitchen which was very convenient.

Their breakfast buffet was simple but really tasty. It was closer to how hotels breakfast used to be but the food was packaged seperately.

As for the parking I would recommend looking around the area for cheaper options. We were there on a weekend and found that the public parking right next to the hotel parking was significantly cheaper (check photo).

The whole experience was excellent indeed. The hotel location, its cleanness, the effencity of the room and on top the staff were very nice and knowledgeable, especially at the front desk the young man with beard and in the restaurant (Jad et Aisha). I met the hotel manager also, he was very nice and helpful. This wS my 3rd visit to the hotel and would certainly repeat it.

Beautiful hotel. Great breakfast and amazing service. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a good hotel to go alone or with the family.

Had a good stay here. Great location. Breakfast was easy to pick up and had good variety. Parking was reasonably straight forward but watch out for the street construction. WiFi was on the slower side so watch out if you were planning to do some work or take video calls.

The location is excellent! It’s in the middle of downtown Montreal. Everything is close by. Restaurants, coffee shops, retail shopping etc. I would highly encourage you to call in advance to figure out parking with the hotel staff. It’s behind the hotel. Drop off your luggage at the front of the hotel and then go back to park the car. Staff is friendly. The only negative is the size of the room. They are smaller than what I thought. Lifts were available quite quickly and we didn’t have to wait. The breakfast was yummy: eggs, jam, Nutella, bagels, coffee, tea and fruits.

Très décu, l'hôtel affiche fierment partout que les animaux sont les bienvenus mais attendent le lendemin matin lorsqu'on quitte pour nous dire qu'il y a 100$ de frais pour le nettoyage de la chambre.
Nous avions bien indiqué dans notre réservation la présence du chien.
Franchement pas agréable.

Lit très confortable, chambre avec cuisinette quand même spacieuse, réfrigérateur immense, personnel souriant et accueillant. Petit gym disponible.

Worst hotel with tiny rooms, no on site parking, less breakfast options, no slippers, no hand wash liquids or sanitizers, tiny elevators.

If it was possible, I would write 1000 stars, it is simply the best hotel I have ever stayed in my life.
Perfect service, from the moment you enter until the farewell, super clean and the breakfast is the most delicious on the planet.

Stayed here for 4 nights, Very Nice hotel. Excellent, professional service. Top notch. Cleanliness is superior! Rooms are spacious, the kitchenette is fully loaded with all the utensils, dishes, towel, dish clothes, etc, all you need is there and even ice cubes for your drinks! …Staff is very friendly and professional. Very accommodating. Will most definitely come back. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. The location was outstanding few min from Galleries des Source shopping center. The staff at the front desk went above beyond wonderful. Big shout out to Ray sales manager who took care of the whole family, made sure my daughters and wife felt right at home. To the whole Team Nikki, Angie and Lynzee BIG Thank you for also making us all feel very special. We defiantly endorse staying at this recently new built 5 STAR hotel, Thank you and see you soon.

Great rooms, wonderful service. The only complaint is building construction across the street starts at 7 am, which isn't their fault, but affects enjoyment of the property regardless.

Location is very convenient and staff are nice. Room is clean despite the decoration is a bit too plain.

Dirty, dusty, full off hair, Pricy, bad breakfast, réceptionniste was rude (big Guy with curly hair), charge me full price (i usually hâve spécial discount cause i work for gouvernement). Vallet Guy was Nice

Unexpectedly our standard room had small kitchen (stove, refrigerator, kettle, microwave, stencils etc.)

Don't worry about parking (it's absent according description). The hotel has booked parkng slots in underground parking nearby. 20$ per day - multi entry parking ticket.

The only one thing could get you nervous - to find a parking place in front of hotel for check in/out procedures.
There are a few parking spots only and no room to wait on main road. You probably should drive around unless it's free.

Great check-in experience. Updated rooms with nice showers (at least in my room anyway, can't speak for others). Great location - 2 or 3 blocks to Rue St. Catherine with all sorts of restaurants and shops. Large breakfast area with selection of bread/pastries, cheeses, yogurt, eggs (scrambled and hard boiled), breakfast meat, waffle maker, fruits & cereal. Juice/milk/water available as is coffee/hot water for tea. Probably forgetting some things on breakfast bar. Decent sized gym/workout room, good variety of kettle and dumbbells. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Very well located in downtown Montreal.quiet, clean rooms, friendly staff. The suites were spacious and well-equipped.

Staff was excellent as was the maid service. Room was very nice with large bed, very comfortable, mine fridge, mini stove, microwave and dishwasher. Large shower but no tub. Elevators are small but there are 3 of them. They have a gym area. Treadmills only. No pool or sauna. Paid parking is very close and underground. Price was fair. Walking distance to underground shopping, museum, Bell center and restaurants. Breakfast was included. I would stay here again. Old Montreal could be walked but is kinda far. Driving seemed easier but street parking is limited. Paid parking is available in the area. Front staff was excellent in mapping where we wanted to go for us and knowleageable on locations.

Great location, close to many restaurants and bars. Also a couple blocks away from St. Catherine. Very clean and modern rooms, great reception staff. The only reason I wont give it a 5 stars, is because their parking arrangement is not ideal. You have to drive around the block and park at a different location.

It's a pretty nice hotel. Centrally located in downtown which is very convenient. Breakfast is very good and makes the stay here worth it. Room pictures online make the rooms look bigger, when you walk in the door you really see how small the room is after you have payed them your $$$. It's a nice hotel for the price. No pool is a huge let down.

Horrible strong smell inside the room. There is cheaper public parking in the same parking area, yet they charge 4 times the price of overnight parking in the public udnerground parking lot. The receptionist obviously did not tell us about that upon our arrival at 6pm and charged us 25 plus tax for overnight parking. They also calculated the taxes wrong. They charged me 18.69% of taxes (19% for the room and 14.97% for the parking). This is ridiculous even for Quebec, I don't understand why I am being charged 19% for hotel taxes; where did the extra 4.03% come from? I came to Montreal at the end of the year last year, and there were no surprises when I lived at other hotels. This is ridiculous. Never staying at Marriott again.
