Restaurant Bellissimo Dorval

We have been to the classic Italian restaurants on Lakeshore many times over the years but, for some unknown reason, never had the chance to visit Bellissimo. This is a real classic neighborhood eatery that is clearly popular with the locals (and has been around a long time to prove it). Clearly it was refurbished, with a nice clear décor that is neither over the top or cheesy. The menu is a classic Italian as they come (Linguine Vongole, Chicken Parma, Fried Calamari, Aranchini, and the like.

For our meal we shared a classic Caesar Salad (ok but surprisingly not very tasty), Piccaatta al Limone (excellent.veal was super thin and tender and I like the lemon sauce with noticeable amounts of butter and garlic), Veal Marsala (also excellent with a flavorful mushroom sauce) and a Tiramisu for dessert (very good, extra amounts of chocolate but a bit more moist at the base than we are accustomed). Service was hopping as the place was busy but everyone paid attention to us. Call out to Stephanie for helping us enjoy our meal that much more. Enjoy!

First time visit. Fabulous food. We were meeting up with old friends and we sat out in the patio. Atmosphere was quiet and very comforting.

Food was very good, service was friendly and very attentive. Nice place to dine with friends and family.

Service impeccable aujourd’hui. Nous étions 11 et nous avons toutes été bien servis. Nourriture excellente. Belle terrasse. Nous avons passé un beau moment.

Extremely salty dishes! Be aware that when you order pasta, you get an amount that would fit in child’s palm. Very stingy compared to majority of Italian restaurants in West Island. Potatoes and veggies means 2 small potatoes cut in half and 1 tiny slice of zucchini. Awful quality and quantity for the price.

Had not been at this restaurant since pre-pandemic, i came in without reservation, they keep getting better. They make you feel very comfy and welcomed, like you’re visiting an old friend’s home.

Did not like that kind of closed terrase, you see nothing only the wood fence. I felt uncomfortable

Food, service & atmosphere was all amazing when we went here for dinner late last fall.

The food was amazing. Stopped here with my friend after a long walk and had the best arancini, calamari and cavatelli. The staff is so nice, friendly and accommodating. The outdoor terrasse is so beautiful and calming. Ordered a cappuccino and a creme brûlée. So good.

Bel endroit! Beau jardin terasse à l'arrière. Le service est très bien, les apéritifs sont bien dosés et très bons et la nourriture est fraîche et délicieuse. Très bon prix. Je recommande la place.

On a beaucoup apprécié la nourriture excellente et leur accommodement pour être servi rapidement puisque nous prenions l'avion.

Highly recommend Bellissimo! What an amazing dining experience we had this evening celebrating my wife’s belated birthday with a beautiful meal at this restaurant. Service, atmosphere and food were all top shelf! My wife had the lamb shank and I had the Veal Marsala and every bite was perfection. Congratulations to Robert and his wonderful staff for a fantastic restaurant and thank you for our evening shared with you. See you again soon!

My partner go there every single time we are in Montreal. It's our favorite restaurant! We can't wait to come back in May!

First time there tonight, Feb. 11/23. Food and service was very good and it is priced accordingly. I had the lemon veal which was outstanding and generous. 5 stars

Some of the the reviews here are ridiculous. When you go to Bellisimo you're leaving happy. It's impossible to have a bad overall experience.
I was with a group of 18 people and my guests had 100% satisfaction.
Special requests and table arrangements were taken care of immediately. A good sign was the flawlessly clean silverware wrapped in a cloth napkin, accompanied by crystal clear wine and water glasses. I didn't notice problems at other tables either and it was Friday with all tables at MAX capacity.
There was an issue with one dish that was prepared for my table but was taken extremely seriously. It was a minor issue with cooking and preparation NOT a quality issue. Despite the pizza being slightly undercooked it was still better than most places anyways. As soon as Giovanni and Malik became aware of this they took the time to apologize and refused to let me pay for that item. They even went a step further and invited me to the bar and bought rounds of drinks for us. My brothers girlfriend passed by the bar and they invited her in as well. It was a party inside my guests party!
This place treated me like family and was one of my best restaurant experiences.
Of course a restaurant of this class had a well dressed gentleman providing live music. The ambience and decor is perfect as I expected. It's a historical building that adds to the experience.
If you had an issue here and just mentioned it to the busboy as you left the restaurant that was unfair. There is no way the owner or manager let's anyone leave unhappy.

C'était excellent! C'est la deuxième fois que j'y vais la nourriture est excellente, chaude, goûteuse, le service rapide, les serveurs sont très respectueux et à l'écoute des besoins nous avons adoré. Merci beaucoup

We were a party of 18 celebrating a friend's birthday. The service was attentive. We never needed to ask for more water or bread or to have the wine glasses topped up. The appetizer with tomato and bocconcini, prosciutto and melon, salami, and olives, was delicious. It was followed by a fresh green salad with a sweet balsamic vinaigrette. The main course, veal marsala, had tender, mouthwatering scaloppini of veal in a tart and sweet sauce, with potato and vegetables. The dinner was completed with a small piece of tiramisu and coffee. Because the service was so efficient and unobtrusive, we enjoyed our meals and could focus on our conversations with friends. That's how a meal out with a group of friends should be. A fun evening complemented by a superb dining experience.

We had the group menu. The service is good but the food is so so. The tiramissu is good. Can be improved

Hard to find parking, one of the waiters was very condescending had to talk to manager. Have NO intentions of EVER returning
