Restaurant Chez Claudette

We had just arrived in Montreal and we were craving a good poutine - Chez Claudette delivered and exceeded our expectations!

I've been coming here since the days of yore. It's still the best Italian pouts in town, also love the celine p, and cochon trio. Lovely personnel too. It can get quite chaotic as it's very popular place, so I mostly take out, but also nice to sit there during the off-times.

Pas la meilleure poutine que j'ai pu manger, elle était bonne mais sans plus (la sauce végétarienne est une sauce au poivre)

Impossible de se tromper lorsqu’on va dans cette institution classique du plateau Mont-Royal.

La poutine était plutôt bonne (bacon et oignons).
En revanche, le serveur qui s'applique un pourboire sans nous le demander, c'est moyen.
Surtout pour du à emporter.
Les prix restent élevés (plus de 17$ en prix final pour une poutine).

Got the Poutine Trio. The hotdogs were disappointing and the poutine was ok. The staff was friendly.

Amazing food and even better service! The servings were huge and absolutely delicious, melty cheese curds on crispy, sweet fries smothered in a thick brown gravy and available with so many other toppings. The owner was so happy and you could tell he loves what he does. The only problem is a long wait for our food but that was only because it was so busy which proves even further how good the spot is.

On est arrivé dans les lieux pour nous faire attendre et dès qu'une mademoiselle passe après nous bizzarement elle se fait servir avant nous et ensuite l'autre employé nous dit qu'on doit attendre d'une manière arrogante. On est tout simplement reparti. Le pire service que tu peut trouver à Montréal.

They have so many delicious poutines! Would highly recommend the Belle du nuit, or any of their other “5 star” poutines.

I wish everyone was as cheerful and nice as the staff in this restaurant. Their positive attitude was so contagious it was amazing. Not only that, but their poutine size are super generous. A small poutine is pretty much like a medium size and is enough to fill you up!

I will take my time to do this right as the people are a big part of this rating.
Went into the place not knowing exactly what to expect! Gloria Street fighter synonym near a gas station in a more residential than restaurant police station this place we'll see it's a staple of Montreal! This place walks away and takes a new place to me instead of The Beanerie on Mount Royal Street it's definitely has the old charm great prices very friendly people that gives advice tell you what's a good choice, ask you what you feel like eating help how hungry are you make any choice you want. Even in perfect English! Keep in mind this is fast food pure Quebecois fast food greasy spoon! You walk away paying for a very decent size meal with a lot of food! It feels authentic you don't have to go to the deep country to get an authentic Poutine.

I used to come here for 10yrs all the time and say Banquiste is overrated. But new owners are rude and poutine is inconsistent depending on who’s cooking. The OG cooks make it the way it’s always tasted, great. I would check inside who’s in the kitchen, but old man at till is rude and won’t speak to you in French if you’re a minority. So now I go to Banquiste even though it’s a lot farther from me.

Les meilleures poutines de Montréal, les touristes en moins. Les portions sont super généreuses (la petite poutine est déjà énorme) et les prix très accessibles. Il y a aussi beaucoup de choix. Je vous conseille particulièrement la poutine Chili. ️

A visit to Montreal without sampling a poutine would feel wrong, so on a recent trip to the city, Chez Claudette made for a tasty and heavy dinner. The fries were crisp, and with an almost sweet taste, that were complimented by a good, but tad salty gravy, and excellent cheese curds. The result was a tasty ensemble of Quebec's specialty dish. I ordered the regular poutine this time, but would certainly experiment with a few additional toppings on another visit, or perhaps pair it with a burger.

Le temple du trio hotdog steamé -poutine. Les portions sont énormes pour un prix ridicule. Essayez les hotdogs vapeur all dressed, le classique de la maison. Le fromage de la poutine n'est pas meilleur, mais tout est compensé par la rapidité, gentillesse et efficacité du service. Idéal si vous voulez casser la croûte sans vous soucier de votre régime.

I went here to try a poutine after seeing the place in a YT video from a foodie. Unfortunately this is far from being the best poutine. It doesnt even make top 20 in my list. You can go to any case-croute restaurant and it will literally taste the same.

I guess the reason why so many people speak highly of it is because right across the street theres a bar and drunk teenagers go eat there. That's my hypothesis of why this place is overrated.

They've been on tv, famous youtubers have been here, food bloggers, etcetera.
The last time I saw it featured, was in Alex Delany's program "Alex eats it all" from the Bon appetit magazine YouTube channel. He went to the best poutine restaurants in Montreal to try and pick a winner. Guess what? Yes, he picked chez Claudette as the best

I've tried many of their poutines (they have a huge selection) I love all of them, there's nothing there that I dislike. The gravy is just spectacular, the fries are perfect and the cheese curds are nice and squeaky. My favorite poutine is a secret one lol
Is not in the menu anymore but they still make it for me. And I can't tell you the name or else they might not make it anymore, sorry hehehe

Quality comfort food at a honest price. It's one of those poutine places that have a very wide variety of flavors, so choosing what you get is a bit of a head scratcher for indecisive people like myself! The best tip I have to solve this, is to go back often and to share with your friends.
