Family owned business serving delicious and home made food! The attention coming from our server was impeccable. I will definitely be coming back.

Loved the food. Loved the paneer kadhai so much that I packed to eat after coming back home to Ontario.

The food is really good, the lady was so nice and i believe it's family restaurant with their son working also.

Great customer service at Didar! Great quality and quick service in comparison to the grumpy customer service at Thanjai. I recommend people to visit Didar and experience the homely taste.

Their food is great! My favorite is the buttered chicken and the garlice nun. Staffs are friendly. Best time to go is during dinner because the street parking is free

1st time is a success! Perfect naan…. The chicken melts in your mouth… the cheese plate is just yummy! And the beef is amazing! Will definitely come back! Sooo hospitable!

A very nice place with a caring staff. Their menu is extensive and offers a wide range of Indian food. The flavors are great and it is beyond delicious. Located between Cote Sainte Catherine and Plamondon metro it is the perfect place to bring your family and friends.

My husband & I decided to try this establishment. The service and food was nothing short of award winning. Honestly when entering the restaurant, the smells and flavours quickly captivates your tastebuds. I knew then that the food would be amazing.little did I would taste an award winning butter chicken. If you want delicious authentic Indian food.come to Didar.

The food is good but I'm mostly overwhelmed by the service. Even though I arrived late, they served me wonderfully. At the end, they refused my tips because they "don't work for tips and that's a family restaurant. " The simplicity and coziness made this my favorite Indian restaurant in Montreal so far. If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular.

Butter chicken and Paneer related dishes are really good, also the dal makhani. Friendly staff and a good place to visit with friends. I recommend dining in as the restaurant is really good. Naan are slightly expensive and are sometimes served with less or no butter. Also i think the quantity could be improved as per price.

Food was mid at best butter chicken was a disappointment only good thing was samosa

& when i didn't offered a tip she went upset & angry lol like im supposed to tip y'all fix your food first

Delicious food and very welcoming staffs. The best Indian restaurant in the area. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Food was very good. Service was good. French was denied to us at first but then a French-speaking server came to our table (this is the reason for 3 instead of 4 stars). The atmosphere inside the restaurant is not really inviting: there's a TV drawing kids' attention, lighting is insufficient, restrooms are far from accessible and look/feel like an afterthought.
I would gladly eat _from_ this restaurant again but I prefer no to eat _at_ this restaurant.

Des people make business with d name as Indian restaurant and they treat Indians very carelessly and with disrespect…. And u can never expect Indian taste, flavour or d Indian ambience here. It’s a waste of money, time and the major one is u spoil ur taste buds with d worst taste of their tasteless food in d name of India… shame on u guys for spoiling the Indian image…. I wud never visit and never recommend anyone… and most important is the owner and his wife’s arrogant behaviour… they serve themselves to avoid paying a server but they don’t have dat humble nature… arrogant and disrespectful…. Worst place to visit in Montreal… true Indians never prefer dis after one visit…

Really delicious, reasonably priced meals with fast and friendly service. We had crispy, fluffy pakoras, smooth and silky dahl, and veg thali which was packed with flavour. Will definitely return!

By far the best Indian food. Best lassi and naan with all the Gravies will teleport you back home.

Being coming here for more than 10 years. Authentic and tasty Indian food. The waitress is okay but the food is good.

Very bed service old lady continue talking to phone and seating their she said take out time 10 minutes but 35 minute wait rote talking no give us fork no napkin also washroom is dirty no paper.

I just ate here tonight for the second time and just like the first time, it was excellent! The butter chicken is probably the best I’ve had in the city and the Karahi beef was so tender and well seasoned that I kept eating despite being pretty full. The samosa was delicious but what really got me was the tamarind and the mint sauce which are homemade and really excellent. I drove there from Verdun despite the 3 Indian restaurants in my neighborhood and will continue to go to Didar whenever I want Indian food. Great staff and good service. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Dropped by for lunch and very much enjoyed our meal. I would definitely recommend this place and would eat here again.

Honestly, my favorite Indian restaurant in Montreal. Everything is delicious and everybody is so nice. Even if I don’t leave in Montreal anymore, every time I pass by, I grab something to eat later. They never disappoint. You gotta try!

We found hair in a Pakora then after brought us a plate with hair and they gave us dirty takeaways for the remaining food to bring home. Overall food was 3 out of 5

Finally found some indian restaurant in Montreal serving good food closer to actual Indian taste. Food was tasty n fresh. Deducting one star only bcoz of bad attitude from the server (she was vry rude) @ Owner pls take a note.

Fantastic experience! Didn't know where to go for Indian in mtl anymore. Skipped the usual known spots and took a chance and was not disappointed. Service was great, the suggestions they gave us for dishes were on point. My new go to for Indian! Enjoy!

I have been to India so many times and it is great to find a restaurant that authentic in taste. Don't expect anything nice or stylish, even the Lassi comes in a plastic cup, but the richness of aroma and the taste was phenomenal. Same is true for the Naan - delicious. I recommend to try it out - if you can ignore the simplicity of the restaurant.

Good restaurant, value for money and authentic taste. The family runs this place and are welcoming and service oriented. It is one of the many restaurant allow bring your own wine.

I had a bad experience. They had stone in the bed of cabbage of the tandoori chicken order, and I broke part of my tooth eating the cabbage.not even the chicken but the cabbage. I was shocked, and upset about it.

Once we ordered malai kofta, kofta were hard and dried, while paying we complained.that guy on counter said, Hmm ok, just ingnored us.then we never visited there again.
They should offer discount or coupon so if their food is not good, after all customers is paying only for good food and taste.just my recommendation if food is not good.call them right way after first bite otherwise they will give excuse.they said we cannot do anything, we can fix that earlier.

Totally satisfied with taste and service. Had excellent authentic taste after a long time, and I eat out a lot. Too bad it is far from where I live. Will visit again if in Montreal.

I didn’t have option to give zero stars so had to choose one. Very slow and inconsiderate service. 20 mins after placing the order we were told it will take 15 minutes more for the food to be served, and this was when we ordered a simple veg and non veg thali. They hadn’t even started to cook the meal after 20 mins of the order. We walked out without eating. People who came in after us were served immediately because we felt they knew the owner. Will not recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I came to this restaurant after a long day at the Holocaust Museum nearby, and were floored by the amazing quality of food.

Growing up in a South-Asian household and visiting a number of Indian restaurants it was very clear to me when I ate the food here that this is in fact the best Northern Indian food I have ever eaten. Everything was flavourful, spiced, fresh, and not oily or greasy.

The naan was soft, and the rice had its own aromas as well.

I've already told my family back in Alberta that this is the place to be when you are craving some authentic Indian food in Montreal.

The host of this restaurant was a lovely older Qala (aunty) and I felt like I was at home with my Nanijan (grandmother) when I chatted with her. I hope that they are still here when I return to Montreal down the road.

The food is so tasty here and I highly recommend that you should come to this restaurant! Nice decoration, delicious food, excellent services.

Only thing i like here is samosa. Rest of food is tasteless. Another highlighting issue is - there is a lady at counter who deals with customers is very very rude. She have 0% idea that how to speak and deal with customers. She needs to improve her way of speaking because food comes after your words.

I usually go there and they have real Indian or Punjabi food. Although restaurant is small, but the food is very tasty and real authentic Indian. The staff is very polite and nice. They also have sweets. I really like this restaurant.

I always have stomach issues with Indian food, BUT never from Didar, solid amazing Indian food, you have to experience it!

This is by far the BEST indian restaurant in Montreal. The tandoori chicken is a great deal, and the other dishes such as butter chicken, tikka, etc are simply DELICIOUS! Also, the staff is so sweet.

I order saag and bhindi today and it was super yummy. Everything is perfect. My guest like it tooo. Thank you very much for your great service.

A little pricier than the guys on Paré, but a wider selection of vegetables (and meat). Sometimes we do a mixture. Butter chicken is particularly good here.

I haven’t tried Didar in a while until last week & me and my friends ordered 2 diffrent thali’s and a lamb biryani extra spicy we had a good time. The restaurant is clean, Timing and staff was great. Must Try if you are around!

After every visit, I want more and plan to come back again. The quality and quantity of the food is far superior than the rest. My favourites for vegetarians: pick any item under the menu, sit back and let your taste buds appreciate you for your choices.

0.1 star rating is too much for this place. They should remove the name "Indian" from their restaurant name. What ever the dishes we ordered in main course were all sweet. When we complained to the management, owner of that restaurant talked with us very rude pretending that we don't know the taste of Indian food. Hell with him. Never ever go to that place even If i am starving. Charged for every dish even though we said, we didn't like the food. Worst. The Worst. The most Worst place

This place is good for Indian food however in some dishes they have changed totally the taste. For example in Manchurian we never used chickpea flour, and they people use it in Manchurian so it tastes very different not like Manchurian. Otherwise everything is good

This place is the best! I’ve been coming here for almost 15 years and even though there’s been a name change along the way, the quality has remained high. Their vegetable pakora is one of the most delicious things on the planet. If you plan to take out, be sure to call ahead - they always have so many orders. Food is always fresh, flavorful and hot.

Ce restaurant a vraiment l’air de rien de l’extérieur, même que ça la sérieusement l’air étrange. Toutefois, il s’agit d’une véritable découverte. La décoration est modeste et plus simple.

Le gros atout de ce lieu? ! La grande qualité de ses plats. Tout est absolument excellent. Le riz est une tuerie, c’est tellement bon. Le poulet au beurre est authentique et on peut même épicé les plats à notre goût en demandant à la serveuse. Le tikka masala etait aussi excellent.

Pour ce qui est du service, la dame est gentille et attentionnée. Toutefois, elle ne parlait pas le français, seulement l’anglais.

I went with a friend. Food is ok, not extraordinary.we took butter chicken, chicken tikka, spinach, rice & nan. The chicken was not that fresh! We had an excellent service. It is a byow resto.

Neither a happy nor wonderful place to eat. They use cheap oil you could taste that in the food. I visited yesterday with my friend. Everything soaked in oil making it so heavy that you can't eat it all. Everything was served with a bitter gesture by the lady. We wanted to just paid and leave. I am never going back there.

The food here is amazing! So worth the price! I love the paneer that is made in house. I recommend their buffet that they have 7 days a week.
