They force you to tip, the highest. They gave me my money back because I was missing a couple of dollars (they ask for 15%). I think they should mention it somewhere. The food is adequate but expensive

Le service est exceptionnel! Des serveurs souriants, très sympathiques, qui connaissent la carte par cœur et qui sont de bons conseils.
Nous sommes venues à 6 pour une occasion spéciale ce mercredi, nous nous sommes régalés. Il y a également de très bonnes options végétariennes.

J'ai adoré mon souper le 3 septembre 2023 et surtout le service de Patricia. Elle était attentionné et discrète en même temps. Nous étions 4 et avons adoré notre souper. Prenez le boeuf braisé. Il fond dans la bouche. PATRICIA saura comment vous conseiller.

Tre and wanted a good meal before the show. Recommended by Centaur Theatre and they were spot on. Ophelie (sp?) was our server and she was great. We were two and shared the Smokey Shrimps with maple syrup and lemon, the soft shell crab club in a brioche with bacon and lemon aioli, the Zaatar carrots and rapini with parmesan and burnt lemon. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and was well presented. Serving time was spot on too. I started off with one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had, and my tablemate and I had the white sangria. Look for the hanging “Epik” sign above this little gem - as it is in the lobby of the Hotel Epik. You have a choice of 3 parking lots just around the corner on St. Francois-Xavier. We’ll definitely be back to savour the rest of the menu.

A restaurant that is tucked in front of a hotel lobby, so it may be easier if you look for Hotel Epik instead of Le Polisson. Also, sometimes the restaurant go by the name of Restaurant Epik, like on the credit card receipt.

I ordered the chowder. The menu said it's lobster chowder but the waiter informed me it's clam chowder that day. Portion size is quite reasonable for that price. But there was a small piece of clam shell left in my soup. The dessert however was a bit pricey. I could get a better slice of cake from The Keg at that price.

The environmental was alright. It was slightly on the cold side because it's at the front of the hotel. The chair wasn't great because the padding was a bit thin. Staff was nice and was prompt.

We were wandering Old Montreal and luckily found this place! Don't be fooled by the limited menu. They do a few things very, very well. We had mussels, carrots, potatoes, all done perfectly. And if you are lucky, Charles will be working and charm the socks off you. A hidden gem in a very pretentious area.

Perfectly portioned, perfectly seasonned seasonal ingredients. Amazing. Highly recommended! (should have given more tip!)

This place would make you feel like you are in a cheap school cafeteria. The servers were more like those you would see at fast food joints. We came here as most restaurants in the area were totally full. No wonder why this place was mostly deserted. The saving grace is that the tiny lobster roll tasted ok.

C'est la deuxième fois que j'y vais! L'accueil et le service sont à la hauteur de ce restaurant. Très conviviale avec un personnel très performant et surtout souriant et qui te donne surtout envie de revenir à ce restaurant. L'un des meilleurs restaurants (Le meilleur) du Vieux Port! Les boissons et le repas sont juste un délice. Merci pour tout et à bientôt!

I was so impressed with my dinner tonight! We were a group of 8 that received the BEST service ever. I tried the Smokey Shrimp Maple, Lemon and my husband got the Lobster Roll Brioche, Aioli. We ALL finished our plates and were so impressed with the quality of the food, the AMAZING flavours and the short amount of time it took to receive it. Our waiter Charles was engaging, fun, sweet and helpful. The Chef Marc handled us with class and was very professional. I will definitely be back! 5 star service xoxo

Good service. Food was fresh but not that tasty. We order the calamari, mussels and the cauliflower. Calamari was good, but the rest was kinda tasteless.

My friends and I had a girls night out in Old Montreal and had a fantastic meal here. The menu changes every day. Our waiter Charles was so fun and attentive - and made great food recommendations! And the chef, Marc, came out several times to talk and joke with us. Every aspect of this meal from the food to the staff was just amazing. It’s been a long time since I’ve dined somewhere where all the elements to a great food experience came together like this.

As others have said, the service here is a high point: fun and friendly. Matthew in particular was very good value. But the lighting is too bright and the set up feels like a restaurant squeezed into a hotel lobby (which it is), so it doesn't have the atmosphere we'd wanted for a date night. The food was good, but nothing special: the truffle mushroom toast was excellent, but the seafood was slightly over cooked and short on flavour. A good spot, not a 5 star one.

Came for dinner. Had a lobster roll which was underseasoned and a bit bland. Fries were good but stingy with portions. Totally understand the cost of the location and the need for profitability but they could do better. Drinks were ok but at these prices could have been a bit better. Service was good but a bit slow. Deck out back is nice and has good ambiance. Team is working hard but some tweaks are needed.

Solid 3 out of 5. Food was very good but a little pricey. The service is so so. I ordered fish and chips but they didn’t have vinegar. They had to get a ramekin from the kitchen and pour it in.

Chef Mark made it a point to welcome us, talk to us about the menu and provide recommendations. Chef’s kindness and attentiveness was on a level I haven’t experienced in a long time while dining and made this restaurant stand out above all others we have visited in Montreal. Really looking forward to seeing how Chef Mark continues to work the menu. I will definitely visit again next time I am in Montreal.

Enjoyed my dinner at Resto Le Polisson! Kind and helpful wait staff and the food/drinks were enjoyable as well.

The nice weather allowed us to enjoy our dinner in the back patio, which had a nice look and feel.

Dining on the Terrasse of Le Polisson was an amazing experience! This restaurant is secret gem tucked away for those who take a chance as most restaurants in the Vieux Port are positioned on the busy street front. The patio had a relaxed, serene and private vibe. The items we ordered from the seafood inspired menu were fresh and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the mussels, lobster roll and fish tacos. The service was friendly, attentive and polished. The sommelier/manager was very passionate and knowledgeable about the wines. Ordered a lovely Etna Rosso which was one of last bottles. Highly Recommend!

Long awaited date night with hubby. Honestly, the service was amazing. The host made us feel welcomed and took the time to help us pick out a wine for the evening. It was refreshing to talk to someone that really loves his job. He was an excellent sommelier. We decided to go with the menu for MTL à la table. We had the chance to sit inside for our meal and enjoy our dessert on the terrace.
Food was amazing! Highly recommend you try this place out.

Dans le cadre de MTLatable, nous sommes allés souper! Service Ninja et chaleureux. On a même eu droit à un petit cocktail offert par la maison pour notre premier date night depuis la pandémie Merci! Belle soirée!

Outstanding food and cocktails. To get more trendy people, need to advertise toward eclectic Italian dish vs plain normal Italian. You have the food already, just sell it that way. Great staff, passionate and friendly. Bravo!

Très déçue de notre expérience. Nous avions réservé 1 mois à l’avance pour un enterrement de vie de jeune fille et arrivées sur les lieux, ils nous disent qu’ils avaient une réservation pour 18 et non 24. Le gérant s’est montré extrêmement arrogant avec nous à notre arrivée. De plus, nous avons du rester 4h au restaurant à cause du service et diviser des montants sur différentes factures semblait trop difficile pour eux.

After reading reviews I expected great service, the hostess was amazing but our server was less then impressing not really the best service but the food was good so 4 star need server to me more attentive

Bon resto où mes collègues et moi aimons aller le midi. J'aime particulièrement les boulettes accompagnées de frites de patates douce! Mousse au chocolat exquise! Le restaurant est très beau. Le boeuf braisé est aussi très bon.

Par contre, la dernière fois les chaises qu'on a eu étaient peu confortables! De plus, auparavant on nous servait le focaccia (pain) à volonté, maintenant le resto fait payer 5$ si on en veut d'autre! Ça fait tellement "akward" surtout quand on est un groupe. Ce n'est pas dans les coutumes au Québec de facturer un supplément pour du pain. Les restos dans le Vieux donnent de moins en moins et facturent toujours plus. Dommage.

Music did not match the decor or talian theme, restaurant was very brightly lit, the dessert was very disappointing and took quite a while to come out. Will not be back.

Excellent restaurant with great food and even better and attentive service, absolute delighted to had dinner there. We had antipasti platter for our group, followed by delicious branzino and finished with latte and tiramisu - one of best I ever had. Look forward to coming again soon.

Went for dinner yesterday and the food + service was amazing! The seafood risotto was probably the best risotto i've had in my life. This restaurant has probably the best service in Montreal. Had a really great night.

Food very good. Service very good. Menu is unique in a good way. The bill is higher then expected.

OVERALL: Épik exceeded my expectations!

RESERVATION: They were very flexible with us changing the time of our reservation and managed to get us a spot on the terrace for my birthday despite a last-minute change. This wasn't expected, but an example of how they went above and beyond.

ATMOSPHERE: The terrace was dimly lit, artistic / creative feeling with art and hedges around the perimeter. It didn't have the touristy feel that a lot of places in the Old Port have.

STAFF: Couldn't have asked for better. Our waiter (Frank?) was funny & conversational and really knew his wine. He suggested my dish and wine pairing.

FOOD: I had the mushroom risotto which was delicious! The two wines I tried suited my appetizer and meal quite well. While the serving size was a bit small, I can assure that the quality of experience and flavour make up for it.

Everything about this restaurant was great. It was so pretty with the crisp blue linen tablecloths. The waiter and busboy were very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the opportunity to meet the chef to tell him how much we enjoyed lunch. We highly recommend Epik if you are in Montreal. We definitely plan to return.

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve gone to. The place is very nice and cozy, lovely ambiance and the food was really good but what makes it better than other places is the service. Francois was our waiter, he was super attentive, knowledgeable and made our night more enjoyable.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to have a nice, special night out.
