Stay away from this place!
Don't even remember if I ever had a food poisonning that bad!

Dined at the restaurant last night. I can tell you that the kitchen is top notch and deserve 5 stars. However the floor staff is not well matched with the hi quality food being served. Strange greeting at door both at beginning and end (the person seemed overwhelmed yet we arrived a 6pm and restaurant was very empty). Wait staff is quick but what can we say…. We did not feel like we were at a top Greek restaurant, but rather felt like a French local bistro! If you want to compete with the likes of Milos or even Zante you will need to invest in the wait staff being better and more knowledgeable in order to better accompany the guests experience!

You will be closing to renovate and revamp … don’t forget the staff! They need help as well!

We will not recommend this restaurant or return! It’s a shame since the food is 5 star quality!

Ikanos was great! Definitely a high end restaurant experience from the service to the ambiance, but most importantly the food was incredible!

The dips to start were some of the best I’ve had and the whole presentation was on point from the start. The server was more than happy to help us through the menu, suggesting options and checking in to make sure we were satisfied.

Cannot wait to come back again - it is the perfect date night but also seems they can accommodate large groups!

Toi qui te décris comme un restaurant gastronomique, visiblement la notion de gastronomie t'a clairement échappée durant ce repas auquel j'ai participé, un party de noël avec un menu réduit, une chance vu que rien n'était prêt à notre arrivée.

Suite à la prise de commande des plats, attente d'environ 50-55 minutes avant de voir les premiers entrées arriver.
Par contre les drinks en extra (19$ le verre de vin oui oui) sont arrivés plus rapidement, sans parler des bières (Boréale) qui arrivent en canettes avec des verres à sirop comme contenant (paaaaarddonnnnnn? !? !?)

En entrée, un tartare de saumon, fort bon il faut en convenir, malgré un assortiment d'assiettes complètement dépareillés pour la tablée de seulement 8 personnes, le tout livré sans pain ni croutons, parce que évidemment, tout restaurant "gastronomique" sait qu'un tartare se mange sans ces indispensables pfff.
Que dire de la tête du pain quand nous l'avons demandé, on aurait dit du pain à rabais vendu moins cher le lendemain de la fabrication dans les boulangeries.

Plat principal, c'est la que la dérape commence. Le bar noir, il aurait probablement mieux valu que je finisse moi au bar avec des drinks plutôt que de commander un plat supposément dans votre gamme de spécialisation (les poissons non?), un morceau de poisson à la cuisson trop longue, sur un assortiment de légumes/fèves beaucoup trop présents afin de faire penser que l'assiette est remplie (à la base c'était du poisson que j'avais commandé, pas une salade de légumes.).

Le dessert, sur la carte indiqué comme un quelque chose (je ne me souviens plus le nom) à la noix de coco et mangue, une fois à la table, je pense que les échantillons du Costco sont plus conséquents, tout en n'oubliant pas de mentionner le goût complétement effacé de la noix de coco dans ce dessert ressemblant étrangement à du jello saupoudré de noix de coco émiettée, la seule chose goûtue fut la sauce à la mangue.

Halalala, je passerai sur les serveurs courant comme des poules pas de tête de partout à devoir se concerter pour savoir qu'est-ce qui va où, en étant moyennement aimables, à croire que demander du pain les dérangeaient.

Et.roulement de tambour.le tout pour un grand total de plus de 60$, taxes et pourboires inclus, un peu cher pour un repas trèèèèès ordinaire.

Conseil pour vous, si vous voulez vraiment y aller, acheter des places à rabais sur des sites de type groupon/tuango, sinon passez votre chemin, vous vous rendrez un grand service à vous et à votre porte-monnaie, il y a beaucoup de restaurant sur la même rue qui sauront vous délecter à la hauteur de votre palais pour bien moins cher.

J'y suis allé, j'ai testé, plus jamais je n'y retournerai.

Went for mtlatable. Go go go! The food was absolutely delicious! Wine list is a little short and expensive but the food made up for it. Thanks for a wonderful dinner and evening!

Excellente adresse à Montréal pour des fruits de mer. Un restaurant gastronomique où les grillades de fruits de mer et poissons entier au josper. Les huîtres sont très fraîches. Les plats très bon goût. Nous avons bcp apprécié.
Le serveur était très aimable.

First of all - maybe this is an isolated incident but it took us 10 minutes to find the entrance. It was during the pandemic. There was no sign anywhere so we went around the building and back. Hopefully it's been fixed!
Nicely decorated. The Caesars salad was amazing and had a big portion. Other dishes were fine.except for the scallops. I remember it was around $23. And when the waiter brought it to us, we were shocked. It was 2 small, grilled scallops in a metal tin. I am not kidding. No decoration, sauce, or even on a plate! Not sure if I'll go back to dine in; maybe a takeout for the Ceasars sald though!

Nous sommes de Sherbrooke et étions de passage à Montréal. Après de petites recherches, Ikanos était le restaurant de choix pour un bon repas de fruits de mer. Nous avons eu un service hors du commun et un repas, de plusieurs services, qui était plus que wow d’assiette en assiette! Vraiment pas déçu du petit détour, j’y retournerais n’importe quand et le recommanderais à n’importe qui sans hésitation.

Nous avons choisi ce restaurant par pur hasard et c'était une belle découverte. Je recommande en particulier les calamars grillés (la sauce en accompagnement était délicieuse), les courgettes frites et l'entrée au crabe des neiges.
Les huîtres étaient bonnes également.
Le service était impeccable.
J'y reviendrai avec plaisir.

After placing our order, we waited around 25 minutes until we had to ask the waiter what was going on with our meal and drinks, which we then learned they had prepared and forgotten. The food was expensive, with very small portions, and overcooked. Not worth it.

IKANOS! ! WOW! By accident, what LUCK! We found a treasure! - Walked in and had quite possibly the best meal in our many decades of travesl! The Lobster! WOW! The Tuna! WOW! The Snow Crab Salad! ! WOW! -We have eaten lobster & mariscos north & south of the equator; up and down Atlantic & Pacific shorelines. IKANOS one of our very best experiences! We only speak spanish & english. All we can say is! WOW! ! QUE RICA LA COMIDA! Sorry, we cannot remember names of owers/staff this morning. Thank you to all of the Staff/Owners at IKANOS! We are from far away New Mexico USA - We are well traveled. IKANOS is at the top of our list! On our next trip to Montreal, which we have this morning newly placed for next June, we will be back at a little table in the front corner smiling and laughing - wife and I - in love with each other. Thank You! IKANOS!

Terrible experience. We ordered through Ubereats and part of the order was missing and also portions were too small for the price that We paid.and also quality of the food is really bad compare of the other Greek restaurants in the city like Milos or Petros.

Wonderful dinner. The tasting menu was delicious and an abundance of food. Staff were all very attentive and lovely.

The food was ok good.but the service was the worst Ive ever had in my entire life. It was embarassing. She was pushing us to order a set but couldnt explain what it was and also forgot so many dishes. She said she was surprised not everybody would want the same thing (?). Some friend never actually got what they ordered an hour later. Not what you expect for a high end restaurant of this price.

If they can't hire proper staff, do should not open.

Fortunately, another staff, maybe the manager, helped us in the end and it was appreciated.

Terrible experience, avoid at all cost.

Un premier retour au restaurant après ce long confinement! Un vrai plaisir gustatif à partager entre amis! Tout était délicieux de l’entrée jusqu’au dessert! On y retourne? Sûrement!

Not the first time at Ikanos, and the experience is still great. Service staff is excellent, and ambiance is very nice. Also not too uptight and nicely casual.

The star here for me is the seafood platter. That plus a side and a starter is probably the best value. There is a 22oz steak to share that I haven't tried yet which could be great, but I feel like having steak at Ikanos is betraying the main reason to go there. A surf n turf is probably a really good idea though!

The fish is also good. $71 for Seabass can be a bit off putting, but if it's indeed a fresh import, cooked in the wood oven, served full at the table deboned, I can see how you get to that price.

Oyster black garlic mushrooms were good, but you can skip it. It's nice in moderation but don't need that big of a plate of it. It would be much nicer to have 2 smaller sides than a big side of that. Else, the Greek salad looked nice.

Ikanos does (or did pre-covid) have very nice value for lunch though, so you could try that too.

Quel festin! Nous avons eu un merveilleux réveillon de Noël grâce à la délicieuse boîte du pécheur. Un délice très facile à apprêter!

Delivery: salmon and tuna tartares were very good, tuna especially. Octopus was perfect. Olive oil cake was nice but a bit frozen.

The food is simply unrealistically tasty and has a very attractive and appetizing look. The service in this restaurant is worth special praise!

C'est bon.mais serveurs et serveuse pressé d enlever ton assiette dont une assiette de légumes pas fini qui disparaît, et ma femme qui demande une suggestion de boisson et qui reçoit une flûte de champagne à moitié remplie pour 26$, un peu trop chère à mon goût pour l ensemble des plats

Went to Ikanos for the first time after hearing good things about the restaurant.
The food is good and interesting in terms of creativity.
We found it quite pricey but were ok with it since the food was good.
In terms of service, the waiter was up-selling quite aggressively. Not sure if it's a rule from management but we felt that we were mislead a few times during the meal.
As an example, the menu shows their sorbet at 4$ so my wife and we ordered one. The plates came with 3 balls of sorbet each. On the bill, desert was 12$ each. The waiter should have given us a heads up before imposing 3 balls per plate. Not sure if we'll go back.just a question of principles.

Trendy restaurant, Valentine's menu was disappointing. The 5 services were actually 5 tapas. I have a bird appetite and I was hungry after leaving the restaurant. Pricy and I think it's a greedy restaurant focused on marketing than real interest in food. High end restaurants present tiny portions but with top notch quality and taste, Ikanos present cut in 4 portions with regular quality. Not everyone can play in high end it seems. Also, except from the name, do not expect Greek food. Disappointing overall.

Beautiful decor, great service. Presentation of each plate was appetizing. The waiter took the time to explain each course. Slightly pricey however worth the experience. Initially seemed small in terms of portions but appetite was satisfied rather rapidly. Overall ambiance was warm and welcoming and food was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Resto chic, proche du vieux port de Montréal. Ambiance calme, déco épurée et recherché avec du personnel sympa. On était deux personnes et on a pris le plateau de fruits de mer. On a bien aimé les plats. À noter que c’est un restaurant spécialité fruits de mer. Aussi, les prix sont un peu plus élevés que la moyenne mais par rapport à la qualité/prix. Cela reste raisonnable.

Nous avons partagé le plat de grillades qui consiste en une entrée, une grande assiette de fruits de mer cuite au charbon de bois. Suivi d’un poisson lotte avec légume à et un succulent dessert. Le tout 222$ avec taxe et pourboire. C’était copieux. On a pas pu tout terminer malgré que tous les plats étaient parfaits. Excellent service aussi avec un personnel chaleureux et dynamique. Bel éclairage et niveau sonore parfait. Tres bonne expérience au final.

Excellent food but very long wait. Once seated, it took 25 minutes before our waitress brought us water. Afterwards, there was 45min to hours between each course. We enjoying taking our time and not feeling rushed but this was excessive.

That being said the dishes were absolutely delicious and the service was attentive and polite. The Grilled seafood platter is a must and the appetizers were all succulent.

The place offers a vast variety of delicious food. I love dining here. The employees are always super nice, prices are convenient and the place is always clean.

Incredibly expensive, but otherworldly food. Meals $60+ per person, bottle of wine $60+, but service excellent! My first octopus experience, and they cooked it like kings, in their Maplewood oven, which makes everything they serve absolutely amazing!

A true hidden gem in the old port! Went here for dinner with my spouse on a Friday and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere and decor is very charming and modern. The food was excellent. We had the Josper tasting menu and were impressed with every course. My boyfriend is greek and has high standards for greek cuisine. Ikanos certainly delivered! The josper oven gave every plate an unmatchable Mediterranean flavor. We will certainly be back and recommend to all.
Our only feedback would be to add a bit more greek wines on the wine list!

Absolutely one of the best seafood and greek restaurants in Montreal. It doesn’t get more refined, delicious, original, or fresh. I highly recommend it to all!

Je suis très déçu de ce resto. Les portions sont ridicules. Mon plat principal comprenait à peine 4 bouchées et le désert deux minis bouchées à peine de la grosseur d'un 5 cents. Pour un dîner à $26 ça n'en vaux vraiment pas la peine. C'est par contre extrêmement dommage car la nourriture est très bonne.

Excellent service avec un personnel courtois et avenant. Et que dire des plats, le chef est imaginatif. Pour les mezze, le mélange des ingrédients ainsi que la préparation est un pur délice. L'assiette de fruits de mer est un excellent choix et la cuisson est impeccable.

Our absolute favourite restaurant in Montreal - we had been coming here for years before we decided to have our wedding reception here. Flawlessly executed with nothing but class, us and our guests were blown away by the absolute perfection in which this restaurant operates. Kudos to Constant and Vincent, this is our restaurant for life!

Excellente nourriture. Les portions sont généreuses considérant le type de restaurant et tout est très goûteux et bien cuits. Je n’ai jamais mangé d’aussi bonne pieuvre. Le service est aussi très courtois et à l’écoute. Par contre, c’est un restaurant chic et plutôt coûteux. De plus, faites attention à ne pas prendre d’eau pétillante si vous ne voulez pas avoir de frais surprises sur votre facture. J’ai trouvé dommage qu’on me serve 4 bouteilles d’eau gazeuse sans jamais me mentionner qu’elle était payante! Donc, excellente bouffe, mais facture salée.

The grilled seafood platter was great quality. Try their on fire (hard to pronounce) cheese mezze. Really different. Thanks for our cute waitress tonight. An amazing character. Will certainly come back.

Un restaurant qui répond aux attentes des amateurs de poissons frais.
Les prix sont un peu élevés mais se justifient amplement par la fraîcheur et la qualité des aliments servis.la sélection des vins est originale et chacun y trouvera son bonheur. Coup de: petits pitas avec les 3 sauces, un vrai délice.

A bit disappointed by Ikanos. Service was good, ambiance was good but the food was not amazing at all. Everything we ordered was way too salty. I don't know how it could be possible, but we could barely eat the crab appetizer. Everything was average to me. Unfortunately, not worth the price. Even though I had an ok experience (nothing major happened) ; I wouldn't recommend to go to Ikanos, and I don't think I'll ever go again.

This is Doug’s wife, I was delighted with my company but not so impressed with the food. Starting with the bread, which I thought was dry and not unique in any way. We had a good Greek salad, and the fried zucchini. Then the seafood plater, which was grilled to burnt, dry. It looked nothing like what another customers review before this post. One cocktail and one glass of wine. $180.00. Service was good. Disappointed.

If I could give 6 out of 5 stars I would. Pascal, our server (spelling?) was fantastic - a true professional. We started with the snow crab appetizer and customized our seafood plate with grilled octopus, scallops and shrimp, finishing off with the olive oil cake. Each dish was perfect! We prefer red wine so we chose this bottle - I highly recommend Ikanos and may stop there again today!:) This place is a must for your visit to Montreal!

Very small portions. We went in group for a birthday, 4 course meal but i've only be able to eat 2 course and an i could say 1 and a half. They are not even flexible to change stuff that we didn't like.

Going to Ikanos is like having suh an amazing dream, you never want to wake-up. It's like dreaming you're floating on a fluffy cloud of happiness. When you're back home, you're wondering what the heck happened and if it was too good to be true. I suggest taking pictures to make sure it was real!  

SERVICE
My husband took me to Ikanos for my birthday. We're a young couple so I was a bit scared they would be snob and make us feel out of place. I am happy to say that the staff was really nice and helpful. We asked the same questions 3 times to our waiter, Pascal, and he was very patient.

FOOD
Onto the food now.we took the 5 services menu where they decide your menu. This took us almost 4hrs (we took almost an hour to decide) so make sure you have the time, but it is worth it!

My husband really wanted the saganakis though, they were nice enough to include it. It was DELICIOUS. Every bite was like being in Europe where we had the best fish ever. Plate after plate, bite after bite was a total foodie amazing experience.

The only teeny tiny thing: the duck was good, but it is the only plate I felt was a bit too much after all the freshness of each fish. In our case we had 7 services (thank you sooo much). It was still good, just a tiny bit too much. I don't know how they do it, but your stomach digest so fast, you can eat until your heart's content!

I will definitely go back to taste everything else on the menu!

Wow what an amazing restaurant! We had a delicious 7 course meal that was part of the festival in February (I can't remember the name!) Staff was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the sources of the food! Restaurant gets busy an hour after opening too so get there early! Food is SO FRESH! Was such a treat being here! Lots of seating and the interior is very modern and formal.

La fraîcheur et la saveur sont bonnes, mais le service était mauvais, la portion de mon entrée était plus petite que celles de mes amis, bizarrement c'était le même cas pour une autre amie qui est aussi une minorité visible. À la fin, il fallait attendre mon tour pour payer malgré le fait que j'ai pas pris de café et j'ai demandé la facture pour partir en premier. Aussi il fallait appeler un serveur pour récupérer mon manteau à la réception et fouiller moi même pour le retrouver parce qu'il était "caché" à l'intérieur d'un autre inconnu. En tout cas le prix était trop cher par rapport la portion et les services reçus.

Super soirée.repas delicieux.mais surtout un personnel professionnel sur toute la ligne.affable et a l'ecoute des clients.meme avec un coupon Tuango. Tres belle decouverte.a refaire.

Best all-round dining experience I've had in years. Spending a lot of time on the road for business makes me a finicky customer. These folks nailed the service 110%, the presentation 110% and the food was over the top and did I mention the service.

My guests and I were treated magnificently even at the peak of their rush.

Please read my experience! We booked Ikanos for NYE, needless to say one huge dissapointment! We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated because someone else was sitting at our table which we reserved for 8: 30 at $300 for two people and a child. They had 3 or 4 other open tables. While waiting for 45 minutes, we were offered no water no food and my child started screaming "I'm hungry"! Finally we got seated at 9: 15PM. Our table had no setup or NYE decor like the other tables did. We ordered a bottle of wine, a glass arrived. My son was starving and the waiter said he has to check if they serve kids meals - we arranged it with the restaurant ahead of time when we e-mailed Vincent. He told us my son can pick something from the menu. An hour later and after asking 5 times for my kids food (just a bowl of pasta) I told my 4 year old to go and ask himself. Never in my life before have I come across this situation. The server G.had over 10 tables to handle for a fine dining experience. The runners had no organization or knew anything if you asked. I strongly suggest to the owner to re-organize his system. How about 1 server per four tables and a runner assigned to the same server? Who serves 10 tables with 3 runners who have no clue what's happening the entire night? We waited so long for a beer. Regular wait on a drink was at least 20 minutes. The entire night we just waited and everyone around us did as well. Unhappy faces everywhere we turned. Everyone had a bored look of just having empty white plates served and no food to follow. Service and organization was below any expectations! I really regret bringing my family to this restaurant and will never return. Do NOT GO here if it's busy, they have no idea how to handle a larger crowd, yet they pre charged for the NYE dinner before they made sure the customers are happy.
I think they should have authorized the card for NYE, povided a service and afterwards charge your customers.
Also, the DJ - I have no words.there was no celebration at all. Just a dissapointing meal.
To anyone planning an important event here, reconsider.
