Restaurant Jano

I picked up one whole chicken to go, most of the chicken is burnt, charcoal burnt, whatever meat left is rubbery and tasteless.
Very disappointing experience, the one chicken cost me 30$ with tip.

Too bad, they lost me.

The best Portuguese restaurant. The chicken is amazing, very close to what we eat in Portugal. I always order from there and I never regret. The food is always good and fresh. Obrigada pelo pão, faz me lembrar muito de casa:)

I had the ribs. As the waiter for their other sauces when you order. The ribs will be accompanied by two sauces, a salad and another side, I had their fries. This was a lot of food for one person.

The ribs themselves were a little dry, this is why the four star, when you have had moist, tender ribs that come off the bone that becomes a golden standard.

The two sauces that come in the plate are great, the waiter offered an additional sauce that was a little spicy but incredible good. Ask for it.

This was my first time in Montreal, the fries are different than what I am used to for the better, I thought they were great.

The salad was fresh and flavorful, I would prefer it with a little less oil.

This feels much like a family restaurant, cozy.

Fully recommend you give it a try.

After a fiasco next door, decide to bring the kids here to have a pleasant lunch. It is a very kids friendly restaurant that has excellent food that's not out of the price range. Waiter was very nice and got us what we needed (2 family with kids) and bought us crayons for the little ones. Their chicken platter was excellent and some exceptional home fries (interesting crisp) that comes with it. Their grilled squid was a bit chewy but could pass taste. They also have a good selection of wine to go with your meal (I did not have any). Overall had a excellent place to stop by for a pleasant lunch / dinner.

Wow! I want to thank the lovely owners, cooks, and service workers here at Jano! I've never felt so welcome in a restaurant before; the food is delicious and I kept forgetting I was in Montreal, it really felt like being transported to Portugal

Tres cheap sur les portions

Stubbled on this place when visiting a friend. Went in for a quick Caldo Verde soup and Bifana pork cutlet sandwich and fries but I will definitely be back to try much more.

Thanks for the hospitality and the Pimenta sauce for the road!
