Restaurant La Guanaquita

The tamales and pupusas were perfect! I didn’t know this tiny take out counter existed but it’s a beautiful discovery!

Wow! C’est vraiment un restaurant qui vaux la peine d’être essayé. Nous avons commandé la boîte familiale pour 4 adultes et deux jeunes enfants et il nous restait encore de la nourriture! Les portions valent tellement la peine pour le prix! Nous avons également essayé les plantains frits avec crème sûre, et nous avons eu un gros coup de coeur La livraison fût rapide, tout était frais et chaud! Merci à toute l’équipe!

J'ai commandé 1 tamal au maïs, 2 pupusitas, le quesadilla au poulet et 2 empanadas en dessert et tout était délicieux! En plus, les portions étaient vraiment généreuses! Comme c'était la première fois que je goûtais des mets salvadoriens, un employé m'a expliqué la façon traditionnelle de manger les pupusitas avec la salade de chou et la sauce! Mon amie a pris les bananes plantains et le yuca alors j'ai pu y goûter et j'ai tout autant adoré! Chapeau aux chefs! J'ai déjà hâte à ma prochaine commande!

Restaurant Salvadorien extrêmement bon! Les mets sont savoureux, bien emballés et accompagnés de plusieurs choix de sauces! Je recommande sans hesiter!

Horrible. Walked in and was completely ignored. No menu or pictures of the food in the restaurant and less than favorable customer service.

Honestly the worst experience I've had in a long time. I don't eat meat, so I chose according to my diet and ordered 2 cheese pupusas and a side of yuca.
She did not give me a receipt, so I didn't get the chance to assure everything was correct. She charged the yuca+chicharron plate instead. When I got my order, I gave it back to her explaining that she made a mistake and I can't eat any of it because the meat and yuca was touching and everything. She told me she couldn't do anything about it and she wasn't going to refund me as stated on the receipt (the receipt that i didn't get). She argued with me about it saying that it was my fault for not stating that i don't want the chicharron. Girl if I wanted meat I would have asked for meat, is that not logical?

Anyways, after 15 minutes of back and forth i was only refunded 5$ for the meat part of the plate.

A customer should not be penalized for your staffs mistakes.
A business that doesn't offer refunds, shouldn't allow themselves to make mistakes that cost the customers.

Amazing, amazing pupusas! So fresh and piping hot.definitely worth the 15min wait (we ordered on the spot, not sure if you can order in advance). They got caramelizing the cheese down to an art.no more need to drive all the way to the Latin Quarter to get our fix. So happy to have found this place. ️

I’ve gotten food here in the past and it was pretty good. Yesterday though I can’t really say was good. We ordered 16 pupusas half revuelta and other half con todo. Size was decent but it wasn’t filled much on the inside. I would occasionally get favours of cheese on the revuelta but no taste of the porc and con todo mostly just tasted like a tortilla. They would also just break into pieces since they were so dry usually pupusas are cheesy and meaty. For the price paid and the quality of food we got was disappointing.

Very tasty pupusas! Some of the best I've tried in Mtl. There are no more tables to sit and eat, it's takeout/delivery only, which is ok with me.

L'horaire est un peu difficile pour moi mais sinon rien de négatif a dire!

Very legit popusas. I lived in El Salvador for a few weeks and as soon as I walked in it was like teleporting back there. Same with the first bite. Eat them fresh and hot, or reheat them on a pan with a bit of oil and a second pan on top of the popusa to smush them correctly

Première expérience de cuisine Salvatorienne. Le menu dégustation est très bon et variés. Produits frais et goûteux. Assez pour 2 personnes de moyen appétit.

Quel délice! Ce ne sera clairement pas ma dernière commande. Tout était frais, goûteux et en très généreuses portions! Vous ne devez pas passer à côté de ce restaurant!

Walked out with what seemed like a 60 pound crate of food that could feed an entire platoon for $50. No idea how this place makes a profit.

El Salvador means “the Savior” in Spanish. How fitting, since the food from this restaurant can save your soul. La Guanaquita is the place to go if you want to try Central American delicacies and be blown away. The locale is decorated with clocks pointing to the times of different Latin American countries and ornamented with various miscellaneous items. There are several regional packaged products to peruse and purchase while waiting for the hot, delicious meals.

Speaking of the food, this will make you want to travel to Central America and pay homage to the gift you receive. We tried the X that contained meat so delicious I have trouble putting it into words so much that it was oozing with flavor. Pupusas, which are a staple of salvadoran cuisine, really hit the mark. It came with sauces and potatoes. Spectacular, nothing less. We tried empanada desserts that were sweet and packed with more of that Central American magic.

I ordered the box for 2 to share. Absolutely delicious. I've tried a few Salvadoran restaurants in Montreal and this one tops them! I'll be going back again

Other than leaving with my clothes smelling like grease everything was good. Restaurant advertises as Salvadoran but most of the menu was Mexican food. Still very tasty!

Je viens dy Salvador et donc je suis très familière avec ce type de nourriture. Nous avons essayer pour la première fois et nous avons été agréablement surpris. Le manger est authentique a très bon goût. Jai déjà hâte d'y retourner.

They make amazing pupusas and great chicharron. Their small menu is really refreshing, they know what they can cook and they're great at it. The staff is very kind and welcoming, in addition im always greeted with a smile. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend eating here, or to go, with friends and/or family!

My go to’s on the menu are the pupussas, the flautas and the Chicharron. If I could, I would eat this every day. The people who work there are amazing.
