Restaurant Shifu (Chez Ping)

I ordered takeaway today. Generally speaking, the taste is quite satisfactory. The most delicious product in my impression is chili oil, but today I found that chili oil sells for 4 yuan? ! ! I also ordered a fried spinach today, hurry up and take this dish off the shelves. I don’t know if you have tried it yourself when you invented this dish. It was so unpalatable.

DO NOT believe the order confirmation message you receive from them. We ordered dim sum in the morning and the order confirmation said we need to go pick it up at 11: 30. I arrive there at 11: 35 and they said they only received the order 5 minutes ago because they only open at 11: 30. So they said that I need to wait 30 minutes because they only started preparing the food. Their system is not working and I would not recommend ordering dim sum from them until they GET THAT FIXED!

This was by far the most terrible, disgusting Chinese takeout experience I have ever had. $18 for a tiny portion of “peanut butter” chicken, which was actually some frozen mystery meat drenched in water that had a slight peanut flavour. No veggies, but it did come with some disgustingly sweet seaweed. If the owner is reading this, let me know when I can come back for my refund.

2nd time ordering. First time was excellent. This time everything was good except for the buns that were so cooked that we couldn't eat them: (
Disapointing. I was craving that since they were so good last time

The food was excellent I would give them 5 stars but because I asked for no carrots and they put and they didn’t include soya sauce. Portions are large and the food is super tasty

Super tasty and yummy excellent service the place is just to take out no dine in but it’s worth it meal are huge you can not be finished by one person the amount of food they put is insane plus the people are so respectful and the service are good love it

Came to get take out and foud out that it is take out only. The restaurant is closed and is used for both a take-out counter and storage space. But food was delicious we really enjoyed our chicken and shrimp with mayo sauce, salt and pepper fish and a beef filet mignon with pepper sauce.

Was not sur about the chiken wings wen i got theme.there was some batter wich i dont like in general! But i must say it was realy good and enormous wings.the hot and sour soupe was also good! Wanted more wings but did not have the time to wait for more! Thanks!

I order from here way too much, but the food is just too good. 11/10 recommend. Always get the general Tao, salt and pepper pork and tofu, peanut butter dumplings, and chow mein. The best texture and flavour and huge portions. You won’t find a better spot for Chinese.

Worst fried rice i ever had. Disgusting. Basically rice drowned in soya sauce. Insult to the dish. No veggies at all in the chicken one. Wth. General Tao edible but not spectacular. Sweet and stiff meat in lots of batter. The popcorn chicken was heavily salted. I saw coatings of salt over the whole chicken piece. Very bad food quality. And expensive.: (

Disappointed! It took a long time to be served (restaurant had only 4 tables to serve). Waittress didn't bring any water (had to ask for it). I ordered dim sum. Spair ribs were terrible (no meat only fat). Waittress apologized, no refund for spair ribs. Menu for dim sum costly.

This a restaurant with great tasting food. They offer in house dining, takeout and delivery. The food is flavorful and the price is acceptable because the food tastes so good. The location is a bit weird though. Downside: the same meal will taste slightly differently depending on when you go there. I don't wish to speculate as to why but the food will be awesome one day and just good on another day. This is unfortunate because, they might have gotten 5 stars if they were more consistent. The decor lacks luster for sure but it doesn't even matter because the food is so Damn tasty!

Great dim sum! Worth it if you're in the area or even to go out of your way! Dumplings are delicious and nice plates from their a la carte menu. Only issue is that you have to order exactly what you want, no carts going around that you can just choose from. Love that they are in a strip mall with a huge parking lot, no problems parking.

The best place in La Salle if you want to have Dim Sum! The Chief cook is really good. From the outside you wouldn't expect such nice spot to enjoy Chinese good, Highly recommend!

The food is very good. The problem is every time I call for a pick up order, there is always something missing or the wrong dish is in my order. And I am serious, almost every time. Yesterday I ordered Shanghai noodles and got Cantonese chow mein. When I called to tell them the response was, oh well. Not we'll come and change it or come back or even, sorry we made a mistake. So if ever you order takes out, check your order.

The food is great and the normal service is good too. Most staff are very friendly. Service during Dim Sum can be a bit slower.and less efficient. It's a little bit pricier than other Chinese restaurants though. There's plenty of parking space though, which is very nice. Good place to go eat if you can't be bothered to get downtown.

Very bad service! We arrived here at 6: 40 and there weren’t many people. But we only got served with our food more than an hour later. Besides it turns out the server completely forgot about us. The food was also cold so we had to ask them to heat it.

Ate there Sept 16 at noon. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We ordered wonton soup, which was good, shrimp dumplings, which were ok but more dumpling than shrimp, pork dumplings, which were good but very dense, and eggplant stuffed with shrimp, that had very tough skin. We also had crab stuffed seaweed, very good, and spring rolls, which were also good. The spareribs were very fatty and chewy. The egg tarts to finish off were great. This was not Ping at its best and we have seen better days at this friendly restaurant.

We went there regularly during my last pregnancy. And today, we went there for brunch with my sister for her birthday. Later on the same day, we went to SuperC next door. Our 4-month old baby needed hot water to warm up his formula. We went in the restaurant kindly asking for hot water. The waitress (different from day staff) refused at first to give us some hot water. She kept asking if we would be buying food. She RELUCTANTLYLY gave us a tiny bit of hot water (1/3 of the volume requested and clearly not enough to warm up our bottle) after I told her that we were there this morning. Not very helpful!
In other words, if you want to go there, go there during the day, not at night!

A gem in LaSalle, more convenient for West Islanders than Chinatown for authentuc chinese food. Elegant decor, surprisingly spacious and accessible, lots of parking and next to a Super C so that you can eat then do your grocery shopping next door. The sign for the restaurant is not obvious. They are right next to the Super C at the corner location. They have several semi private seating areas for tables of 8, which is very cool. I tried their dim sum menu with our family. They dont have the waitresses pushing a dim sum cart around like in Chinatown. You order from a dim sum menu and the wait staff brings it to your table. My favorite is the pan fried chive dumpling. Will go again and try their dinner menu some day.

So we were not really hungry for dinner. Looking for a dim sum place near verdun and Ping was the one that jumped out.
Great venue. Nicely spaced tables. Very courteous and helpful staff.
We ordered some dim sums, soups, and a big plate of crispy calamari for 3 persons. Total with tips about $43. No drinks.
I will come back to try other plates.

Was my first time with friends. I enjoyed the variety. Flavors where unique and delicious. Service was efficient and price was fair.

Decent food with decent taste. Each plates are around 4.25$ so it's not that expensive. The service is decent also. The only problem I have is that some dishes were a little bit bland to me, beside that, everything was fine.

Dim Sum is very good as well as their noodles. I often ask for a custom plate mixing certain noodles with another meat and different sauce and they always do it. Their shrimp dim sum is amazing!

As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you're hit by this strong fish smells coming from the fish tanks, not the most appealing smell when you walk into a restaurant.
If the pictures on the menu are anything like the food being served in this restaurant you better go to Taco Bell!

First time i come here and at first i was skeptical about it berceuse of thé reviens.but the service was great fast and efficient.always filling the tea.friendly and attentive
food was fresh and hot.very tasteful and authentic.
I recommend anyone to come try.
