What’s up with the salt at this place. Almost inedible. Don’t order the steak. It’s a thin overcook piece of beef (despite of ordering it med rare) with so much salt on it, that I couldn’t quite finish it. My friend ordered a sandwich, same thing. A salt bomb. In retrospect, we should have returned the food.

We are visiting in Montreal and wanted to sample the smoked meat! This below-level restaurant is a quiet escape off the busy Rue St Catharine. Our server was fun and we definitely loaded up on the meat. My pizza was spicier than the Jumbo Smoked meat sandwich. Super delicious!

The smoked meat sandwich was really tasty and no wonder that was one of the famous recommendations. I tried a rib eye steak as well and its taste was ok. The service was very good but not enough waitress.

Was in town for a concert. This place was fantastic. Of course when in MTL you must get a smoked meat sandwhich. I had the super smoked meat and it did not disappoint. Plenty of meat and fries. Very classy atmosphere and comfy seating. Waitress was very polite and friendly. We stayed for over a half hour eating and chatting here. I'd definitely recommend this establishment.

Lovely Grilled Cheese and Turkey Club Sandwiches. Portions were just right which is to say on the small side for North America. Good value though.

Carrot Caje was great and the Strawberry Cheesecake also was a smash.

Smoke meat before pandemic, 18$, now 26$. I mean its not lamb from a Portugese Restaurant, sad won't be going back, ridiculous price for smoke meat, few fries, salade de choux and half a pickle

I had the Smoked Beef Poutine, highly recommended. Abundant, tasty. Although I am not VERY fan of poutine but it is a must try dish in the region.

The restaurant is in a basement, it is quite dark but the setting is good.

We had the Smoked meat sandwich and smoked turkey melt. Both sandwiches were delicious however I think my favorite was the turkey. This place has a cool ambiance to it.

Great old-fashioned diner with fantastic smoked meat and some interesting menu items. The waiter was fantastic and very fun. Service was good, food was great and the atmosphere, although dated, had an old fashioned charm.

We absolutely loved the vibe, the food, and service here! The staff were friendly and a joy to talk to. The Smoked Meat was juicier and less mustardy than Schwartz's. The all-dressed pizza was loaded with toppings and had the perfect thickness of dough and amount of cheese.

Horrible experience.way too Pricey for nothing.fries were way too oily.not enough food for the price you pay.

Un classique de la gastronomie montréalaise.
Bon rapport qualité prix (un peu cher selon les plats) mais un décor classique, plein de charme. Service ultra rapide, idéal pour un repas du midi.

Cinq étoiles service et repas. La serveuse (une dame blonde), accueillante, souriante, attentionnée était une des meilleure que nous avons eu depuis des années.

Nous en avons profité pour acheter une pièce de viande. Richard, l'artisant derrière cette préparation de viande, nous a expliquer le long processus de préparation. C'est un artiste dans le domaine. Un gros merci à Richard et à notre super serveuse pour cette expérience.

En bref.je vous recommande fortement ce restaurant qui en plus est l'Original avec l'ambiance Old School.

We were two adults and two kids. Arrived at 4pm ish and were seated right away. Excellent BBQ burgers and a delicious roast beef sandwich that was so juicy and flavorful Service was excellent by Jeremy. My daughter had poutine on the side instead of plain french fries and loved it. Highly recommend this place. They also have a basic kids menu covering all the normal plates. Great choice of rich desserts we were stuffed. Put it on your list.

Smoked meat {ask for fat not medium} was absolutely amazing, way better than the other branch. Shout out to John who's the best waiter there!
