My most recent experience was "initially" not very positive. The first diagnosis of our heat pump was not accurate, and it took 3 weeks until it was found that the entire unit had to be replaced. Living through the heat wave without A/C in July was not a pleasant experience.
Yet, once the problem was clarified, the company did the best and everything they could do to accelerate their work for improving our living condition. They responded to my request well.
So, the beginning of this event was not great, but the company compensated and responded/acted quickly afterwards to solve the problem in a professional manner.

I've been using this company for years and the service is always beyond reproach. Service representatives polite, competent and responsive. I bought my furnace from them also, they were honest and didn't over-sell me. Nothing bad to say here.

BE VERY CAREFUL AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH S&S CONVERSATIONS! We had a unit installed with them a few years back where we had received an extended warranty for 10 years on parts and 7 years on labor. This warranty is contingent on us performing annual maintenance on the unit which we have no issues doing. The reason why we are scoring them so low is the following. We had an annual maintenance completed last year and the technician spent 30 minutes at our place and simply sprayed the unit with a Spray Nine cleaner and also cleaned the filters, something I could have done myself yet they charged us over $200 for that. They didn't even use a jet pressure washer like other companies do. I called for this year's maintenance which is now 20% more than last year and they refuse to accept accountability or provide any sort of credit, instead they are argumentative with me and provide misinformation everytime I speak with them. Both their representatives Steve and Patricia lack customer service skills. I inquired with Carrier Canada about switching to another Carrier dealer for my maintenance, although the issue is that if I do so, I lose my extended warranty for labor so basically I am handicapped and forced to do business with them not only to maintain my warranty but for annual maintenance calls as much as I may not be pleased with their service. As such do your homework because if you purchase from here, you are stuck for the duration of your warranty period. There are many other companies that are rated high like Excel Climatisation so look around before contacting S&S Conversion.

Serviceman showed up on time was polite and explained clearly what the problem was and exactly how much it would cost.

Just had S & S replace my old AC with a new Carrier one. The service was excellent. They came when they said they would. The workmen put down tarps leading to the furnace room to keep the floors clean before they started work.everyone on the team was pleasant & polite. They answered all my questions and showed me how to clean my new unit every spring.they worked non-stop until the job was done, and left the house as cleaners it was when they came in. Our a/c was on its last legs and finally died, sent a request in via the website on Sunday and received a response and a full team at our house Tuesday installing. My AC unit broke and when we called customer service, they were incredibly kind, helpful and understanding. We have a newborn at home and they sent someone as soon as they could, and the unit was repaired within a week (limited only by the time it took to receive the new part, which was out of their control). Technician was super friendly and professional. Thank you!

I have my new gas furnace installed through S&S conversions last year. But there's a problem with it. After several visits of technicians, it's fixed in the end. You saved me on one of the hottest days of the summer! My Air conditioner was making horrible noises and kept shutting off. Your technician Actually came when he said he would, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within an hour and a half and charged me a fair price. I’m grateful and will recommend S&S whenever I have the opportunity!

Had a mini split system installed in April with two wall units on the main floor and a ducted system for the upstairs. The sales team was very responsive and worked within our set budget. The install team was professional and clean (as clean as they could be given the amount of work done). We were a little disappointed with the method of controlling the ducted unit, so they came back the next day and installed us a wall controller for the ducted system. We are overall satisfied with the system, however we are still learning how to get the room to the right temperature with the ducted system.

Hired S&S to install our heat pump - and could not have been more pleased. Everyone we dealt with was professional. A last-minute medical appointment actually prevented us from being home when they came for the install and the team were respectful of our space and completed the job all before we returned home!

I have nothing but great things to say about my overall experience, these guys are awesome and I highly recommend them. I had no issues with my sales rep Stephane, everything that he promised was delivered on. They checked in on me for my installation, confirmed my appointment two days before and arrived right on time as promised. The installers were extremely professional, polite, knowledgeable and meticulous. They did a superb job and cleaned everything up once they were done. Overall super happy with the work and the unit and I can't wait for a heat wave to test it out.

Professional. Amazing after service. You won't regret using them. We asked them to them to go above and beyond and they delivered time and time again. All the technicians are great, especially Matthew but Pat who is at the forefront, is an exceptional lady and the heart and soul of that company.

After 4 visits from my previous HVAC vendor and still having my AC not functioning well, S & S Conversions was recommended by a colleague. Joseph came to assess the issue. He patiently listened to all my questions and gave me detailed explanations (I now feel I know a lot about HVAC). He found and tackled the source of the problem without cutting corners or implementing short term weak solutions. He provided exceptional customer service and was very thorough and professional in the way he fixed our AC. Almost as if it was his own issue. I recommend doing business with this company.

Installation was great, technical service was great. There was an issue with a hose popping off right after installation, and they immediately came out to fix it without question.

But they ignored requests for forms to get reimbursed by Energir, and I lost $700 in the process. The form was literally 2 pages. I tracked the form down and sent it to them.

They gave me a very reasonable quote to replace my furnace. Not the cheapest but by far not the most expensive. They showed up on time for the quote, to take measurements and for the actual install. Everyone who came over was professional, polite and spoke both English and French which is nice when they’re talking technical details. The install was even faster than promised and they kept everything very clean. They didn’t leave until they were certain the system worked and until all my questions were answered. The furnace is working perfectly. Very happy overall with them.

I have been extremely happy with this company from the beginning. Their sales rep Stéphane was very responsive and helpful, their technical team was very professional and courteous, and the post-sales service has been impeccable. They even discouraged me today from doing additional work that would have proved unnecessary. My wife wanted to move an AC unit that they had installed last week. She wanted to move it to a different spot inside of the same room to improve air circulation, but the technicians indicated that this would not change anything given the small size of the room. They were already at our home with the whole team and could have generated additional revenue for doing additional work, but instead they devoted a lot of time to explain to us in detail why moving the AC unit wasn’t necessary. To me, this shows that they really take their clients to heart and do everything to do what’s best for their clients, and this even after the contract is signed and the installation is completed. I give them my highest recommendation.

We have been with S&S Conversion for 25 years. We have always received great service and appreciate Bernice who handles all the appointments and calls.

We had an old central air conditioning system replacement done by S&S this week. The team were thoroughly professional, polite, and a pleasure to have at the house. They were on time, spread tarps and cleaned up afterwards. NOTE TO OTHER CLIENTS: Have water on hand for the team, they will appreciate it! - Pleased with the new system and thermostat which can be controlled via mobile app - just waiting now for some warm weather! Needed to get rid of our oil heating and kept getting very high quotes for duct work and central air. Finally found S&S who were able to keep our existing pipes and water radiators but change the oil to electric! Also had them install a thermopump and can't wait to enjoy the AC this summer.
This company is great and answers emails, sends required paperwork for government rebates and did a great job installing everything in 1 day.

After a Hydro Quebec power outage my heat pump thermostat stopped working due to a power surge. S&S service was prompt and restored my system. Unfortunately this signaled that my very old heat pump needed replacing. Howard helped me choose a new heat pump and furnace. The entire team was very professional, the work was well planned and the installation in the middle of the winter after a major snowfall was seamless and painless. Very happy and would highly recommend.

I had an issue with my Outdoor unit fan not turning. The technician Matthew arrived at the scheduled time, and after quickly verifying thermostat settings, located a loose wire on the outdoor unit & had it working in no time. No charge since it was under warranty. Professional and Prompt, very satisfied.

Response to S&S (08/03) : I'd like to clarify a few of your points: #1. "Deciding" to leave a message is the only choice when your offices are closed. If your co.doesn't treat messages as important, please remove this option for customers. #2. My relatives were available on day 5, when S&S showed up + quickly left without word as to their return. They were not available on day 11, when S&S later said they'd return. Why the 6-day gap? Note that everyone was available on day 16. #3. The electrician issue is fair, except S&S waited until my relatives called THEM—on the morning of day 16, to ensure their follow-up visit would be kept—to tell them this. Why was this info not shared on day 5? And would S&S simply not have told anyone they were breaking their appointment if they were not called? # 4. Yes, my relatives are happy that S&S returned (day 17? 18?) and restored the AC. We're all very relieved. But please don't dismiss S&S's litany of errors and oversights along the way to this grand success.

UPDATE: AVOID THS COMPANY:
My older relatives' S&S AC system broke just as a record-breaking Montreal heatwave began. They called S&S on Sunday (DAY 1), were told they'd have to wait until at least Tues (DAY 3) ; they were later given more delays. I called on their behalf and a very helpful rep named Josh was able to book service for Thursday morn (DAY 5).
- Thurs.morn: The service people said they needed a missing part + that this would be a 2-person job, so they'd return (no details on when).
- Repairs were booked for 6 DAYS LATER (DAY 11, Wed.), but my relatives weren't available, so S&S booked the following Monday (DAY 16).
- Monday morn: S&S DECIDED NOT TO DO THE JOB. They called to say it was too much time and work for them, and told my relatives to find an electrician instead. All this after 16 DAYS.

My relatives have been customers for 10+ years. We're STLL in the worst heat wave to hit the city in years. We've had 16 days of runaround by S & S Conversions, who at the last minute refused to repair their own faulty system.

S & S Conversions, I'm not sure if your neglect is actionable (class action suit, anyone?), but I do know that I will be telling everyone—in life, online, etc. —to avoid you.

I called more than 3 weeks ago for a repair to my installation that was done by them.
They booked me an appointment for the july 10 and the day before they called and just announced they cancel the appointment and they are too busy to come or to reschedule another appointment.
I comppained

One hour after writing my comnplain I got a call from the company owner he appologized for the conduct of his staff and promised to make it right.the next day he confirmed to me a technician will come the next day.
At 7: 15 the technician knocked on my door and went straight to work.
Guess waht he found the problem in 15 minutes and was already repairing it.
The quick and powerful response of the company owner made me believe again in them and cogratulate him on his leadership and care.

It is not a problem to make a mistake but the real thing is to take ownership if the problem and solve it.
