Saiko Bistrot Izakaya

Lovely ambience. We went for dinner with our 1yr old daughter, and the staff was super kind and gracious all around. We ordered the Chirashi and beaver hall roll with a bottle of sake and yuzu cheesecake to share. Fish was very fresh and sake complemented nicely with everything. Highly recommend this neighborhood bistro!

My dining experience at Saiko-Bistro Izakaya Montreal was absolutely extraordinary! My husband and I first time experience the five-course omakase, each one was a masterpiece in its own right. The food was incredibly fresh, and with every bite, I found myself closing my eyes to fully savour the explosion of flavours in my mouth.

Overall, I would highly recommend Saiko-Bistrot Izakaya Montreal to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience. Even though we had to drive from Mont-Tremblant, it was well worth it. I can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings!

One of my go-to sushi places in Montreal! Been there twice and both times the sushi was delicious and so fresh

The staff were friendly. However, the food took forever when the restaurant wasn't even that filled. All sushi that had deep fried items in them tasted greasy and cheap. The washrooms had pubic hair and pee all over the toilet seat.

The sushi was really good and the servers were very helpful. I would recommend it if you're fine with waiting a bit for the food to come.

Les plats étaient délicieux, le service était aux petits soins, le seul bémol reste le prix, trop élevé par rapport à la qualité de la viande à mon avis, ça reste un très bon restau avec une bonne ambiance! Merci au staff!

Overpriced sashimi, extremely long wait - disappointing experience.
I'm not sure if they get the fish shipped to order or what, but was very disappointed in the service.
A simple order takes almost an hour, and the worst part was the waiter forgot to punch one in so we had to wait another hour.

Several tables in our vicinity were complaining about the wait, and reading the other reviews this seems like the standard rather than an exception. The sashimi was also not very high quality given the price tag of $7 for 2 pieces.

Would not recommend this place given the high prices and long wait times.

Four stars for food alone. It was delicious, but it took forever to come out and the server neglected us at the end of our time there.

Tried this restaurant during the MTL à table event. Everything exceeded our expectations. All the food was excellent, special mention to the miso black cod, the chirashi and the matcha cheesecake. Actually I’m still dreaming of that rich-flavored black cod perfectly paired with pickles and eggplant

Ambiance was nice, music was pleasant without being too loud, and conversations could be easily carried despite the packed restaurant.

On a side note, although their online reservation system showed that they were full way ahead of time, I could easily reserve on the phone with them.

Sushis are surprisingly good and the fish sashimi are incredibly fresh. It is probably one of the best sushi for your money out there. (I have over 15 years in experience in the sushi field)

Came on a Thursday night with 14 people. The service was very slow we waited an hour and a half for our food. I can understand that we were a bigger table but by the end of the day it was just us another table of 4 and the omakase people left.

It felt like they prioritized the omakase people over the people that were sitting in the dinning hall. The food was good but wasn’t amazing. I had the chirashi it was alright the avocado was super hard and sashimi lacked the rich fatty flavour it just tasted bland. The only thing that was amazing was the uni hand roll.

But overall it was just nothing special.

High recommend, everything is fresh. Sadly the Japanese alcoholic drink is a very little selection, due to the saq inventory.

Pour deux personnes nous prennons généralement 3 plats. Ce qui revient vite à 100 dollars hors taxe. Mais quand on aime on ne compte pas. ️

Très bon! L'entrée de pétoncle grillé est à se jeter par terre! Un peu dispendieux. Service courtois. Plusieurs choix de saké.

Excellente adresse. Qualité supérieure à la moyenne sur la présentation, la fraîcheur et le goût. Excellent service rapide et courtois, et au moins bilingue. Établissement propre. Nourriture servie rapidement après la commande. Conscience environnementale évidente puisque le seul déchet est l’enveloppe des baguettes (ustensiles). Nous sommes allés un samedi soir vers 18h30. Les sushis sont très beaux. Belle sélection de sakés. Bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande fortement.

Sushi was not very good. The maki were small and not really tasty. It’s pricey for what it is. Got to admit that the waiter was a nice guy. He continued to pour us water even after we paid the bill but decides to stay to talk a little more.

La commande reçue était bâclée. Les items n'étaient pas les bons et les poissons (surtout le saumon) étaient nauséabonds. Je suis vraiment déçue d'avoir payer pour ce repas.

Best sushi in Montreal for me. Sushi is always fresh with an awesome presentation! The staff is nice and respectable. You can eat at the bar and see the chefs working their art of sushi!

I had a great experience here. We tried the omakase. Everything was really good and the fish was fresh. I definitely recommand this place. (I didn’t take pictures for every services)

The food was overpriced for a place that is not an upper scale place as it seems what they try to be. The portions were small and not the best quality and presentation.

The decor was very nice, the service was professional and the food was excellent. They even have two types of Soy Sauce for different types of dishes.
