Saint Sushi Plateau

Very disappointing experience. The owner might be trying to modernize Japanese kitchen, but they have not succeeded. We ordered ‘tasting menu’ x2. For 53 dollars each it is not a good value for money. We didn’t feel the ‘fish’ in the sushi at all and felt like eating rice mostly mainly mixed with some sauces as most of the time the fish was mashed and it was a continuation of mashed stuff. Most of the time, we didn’t know what we were eating as each sushi had many ingredients. If you have low sushi standards by all means this place could pass. Yet the starter was good. At first glance the resto looked very nice and the waiter was friendly, but at the end of the day it is the food that dictates how good a resto is and the food was not impressive. We eventually passed on our comments and the waiter heard us but nothing positive came out of it. At the end of the day the place seems to focus more on looks, trying new recipes, presentation, being original and modern rather then being simply good.

Le restaurant Saint Sushi à Montréal est un véritable bijou pour les amateurs de sushi. Leurs créations sont artistiques et délicieuses, avec des combinaisons de saveurs uniques qui éveillent les papilles. Outstanding dining experience. The owner clearly takes great pride in his craft. I say craft because our meals were a work of art…. And delicious!

The short of it is this place is not worth the money they are charging.

I have had sushi from all over the world, including Japan, LA and Vancouver.

This was some of the most expensive and underwhelming I have had.

It’s your basic mall sushi quality but you pay 65 dollars for 18 pieces and the waiter acts like it’s Michelin star.

Meal for 2 without drinks was $100 dollars.

Not worth it by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe it was a better value before and that’s why it has good reviews. But what I saw felt more like it’s a tourist trap then a good place to eat.

I did give 2 stars because the waiter was nice. At least there was that.

Really fun atmosphere -the servers crack jokes andvthey have big full belly laughters even when the place is totally full!

We got the tasting menu and it was 1) so much food 2) such creative mixtures of rolls and sauces. It was delicious from the start with the sashimi in a sweet vinegar mix and julienned apples.

And then the assortment of rolls- wow.

Great place to get your tastebuds shining.

Awesome joint, a little loud and hip hop for those not super into that vibe. Otherwise super tasty menu and delightful and creative variety. Taster menu definitely worth a try.

Le gout est étrange (not in a good way). Price is pretty high. Service is mediocre (maybe our waiter is new). Decoration is a bit bizzare for me.

The place seems a little dirty, dirty wall, dust & funky smell, table are sticky, sushi was okayyy
