Sakura

Mon restaurant japonais préféré depuis 1995. Repas délicieux et authentiques (bento, soba, sushi sashimi, shabu shabu), excellent service et thé. Arigato Mamasan.

The taste is okay, but the lettuce leaves under the sashimi are rotten, black and disgusting. This is clearly a rotten leaf. I don't understand why sashimi is supposed to be on these dark limp disgusting rotten leaves

My favorite restaurant of all time. I come here for every special occasion! (Also has the best desert! Fried ice cream and donuts) all I could ever dream about

Great decently priced sushi. Never ordered anything that wasn't good! You can't go wrong with this restaurant!

Long-time regular patrons of Sakura on Drummond, as we ourselves were, might be somewhat dismayed at the change in ambience at the new location on Stanley. It was a treat to regularly dine out at Sakura, and bring friends and family from out of town to experience it. The lighting was lovely, the tables covered in fresh clean linen, with cloth napkins and little vases with sprigs of real flowers. Alas, no more. The Stanley location is quite dimly lit, the wooden tables ringed and somewhat pockmarked (rather wary of placing utensils directly on it), and the thinnest of paper napkins as a serviette. We were looking forward to the tempura entree, but it arrived on the same plate as the main dish, which rather blunted the anticipation. The quality of the salmon teriyaki was not as before, and even the Saki seemed to dilute the spirit, giving no kick. Very sad to write this, as we truly loved to dine there. I would still recommend it as an eatery to chow down in before running off to the movies, but not as a dining experience to share with friends and family. One can only hope this is due to current difficult times, and that it will rebound to its former self in the near future.

Went there during lunchtime. I ordered a set menu. The miso soup was the best one I ever had! The salad is well seasoned and fresh, and so was the fish.
However, the wooden disposable chopsticks are too light to properly eat fish with, and the tea was too dilutec for my taste. The ice cream was okay.
I would come back because the miso and the fish are very good.

I come to this place only because I used to go to this restaurant when I was in University. It wasn’t on this address at the time… time flies…

I used to loved the Sukiyaki from this restaurant so when I passing by Montreal, I have to come in for some sukiyaki again! It tasted just like before and boy does it brings back some memories from University time and how I used to save up some money just to eat some sukiyaki! It was a nice dinner and some nostalgic time …

I've ordered the evening sushi sashimi set dinner. The food and service were both very good.

However, on the menu it says 6 pieces of sashimi, but it was actually 3 pieces but cut in half to make 6. Very dishonest and insincere business owners. Very unfortunate.
