Legitimately the best dining experience I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly. Absolutely fantastic food and dessert, the service was amazing and the staff was unbelievably friendly, and the views from the outdoor patio are unmatched. Great place for a romantic dinner, this is going to become a staple of my trips to Montréal!

I would like to take a moment and thank the complete staff at Salumi vino for a wonderful experience, my wife and I were extremely satisfied with our choices, to start I had the salsiccia e polenta with truffle DELICIOUS! My wife had Gamberi al sambuca she really enjoyed them, then I had the tomahawk steak AMAZING! AMAZING! And my wife had their famous homemade savory gnocchi, and for dessert we had a chocolate mousse each, the ambiance was peaceful and lovely the staff were extremely friendly, I definitely recommend this authentic gem to anyone interested in having a delightful evening in old Montreal. Came here with a bunch of friends and we all came to the conclusion that Salumi Vino's Food and Wine are equally as fancy as they are tasty. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their menu items and this is the perfect dinner spot.

I visited Montreal with my sisters over the weekend & we stumbled across this restaurant. The food and service was amazing. & the oven-baked eggplant parm was too good! Despite not having a reservation the owner was very nice to squeeze us in. & the waiter was super friendly. & the chef also welcomed us in with a friendly face.will definitely come back here with my family if I visit montreal again

I ordered the Gnocchi with Black Truffles and it was absolutely amazing. Quite honestly the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. The fellow who took order offered great advice and was extremely attentive to our needs. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

I would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre for the price and the service. The food was almost 2 hours late with no explanation or apologies of why the food was so late. For an italian restaurant, the pasta was tasteless, and the tuna was uncooked. To top it all up, the server messed up our bill!

Perfect evening. We arrived at 6pm and were warmly received. I ordered the meatballs and my wife had the ceviche. It was divine. The meatballs reminded me of my Italian neighbor as a child. For our mains we had the homemade ravioli and the handmade gnocchi. My wife and I have extensively travelled the world and I must say this was one of the best pastas we ever had. The wine recommendation, Vignalta, was perfect especially considering the variety of flavors in all our dishes. Tiramisu was delicious and after indulging in a few grappas we continued our great night. Thank you Mario for the attentive service.

Went to Salumi a Sunday evening, 4 adults and 4 kids 8 year old.
Everything was just great!
They treated the kids like they were a group of adults which they loved!

The food was nothing short of EXTRAORDINARY!

Ceviche, Mushroom ravioli, and home made Gnochi were th highlights!

I cannot express how disappointed I am. I have no problem paying a high price tag, but for ice cold burrata, clumpy cacio e Pepe, tough bavette, and what could only be described as chocolate mousse from a pouch, absolutely not. The only people who enjoy this restaurant are those unfamiliar with Italian cooking, looking to get a surprise with an exorbitant bill for mediocre food at best. I will say that the service was quick and very friendly.

Update: I am unable to reply to the owner but I will say that I would normally have spoken to the staff directly but it was a special occasion and it was inappropriate in my opinion.

Belle découverte. Excellente nourriture et presentation. Beau décor et très propre. Proprio très sympa et généreux. Service attentif. Mon nouveau resto préféré.

Service was attentive but my Caesar salad and vitello gorgonzola e funghi were very bland, and simple accomodations were declined (i.e, requested butter or olive oil on the standard pasta side instead of tomato sauce because the main dish had a cream sauce, but was told politely it could not be done.) Of the two available desserts (chocolate mousse or tiramisu), the mousse had a nice flavor but was deflated, so more like melting ice cream than mousse. My family is Sicilian and the basic preparation was authentic, but the flavors needed a bit of punching up.

Truly felt like Italy to me – incredible Italian food.  Such positive energy on the outdoor terrace. The service was great and super kind.

Not impressed. Dishes were limited.which the owner should tell you before you look at menu. It took a long time to get our order in and meals served. Meals were decent. The owner should help more instead of hovering over chef. Also, he should keep his racist opinions to himself.

I had a great experience in general. I saw a video of crazy big steaks on instagram and booked a table for the same day. We had steak, ossobuco, and pasta. Everything was to die for! Bottom line, nice place, the staff is super super cool, enjoyable music, great food. Wow the key lime pie is the best I had in Montreal. What else can you ask for? ;)

J'ai moins apprécié le fait que le passeport vaccinal n'est pas systématiquement vérifié à l'entrée, car on demande parfois aux gens d'aller s'asseoir à leur table et on vérifie plus tard alors que la personne a déjà enlevé son masque à travers les clients attablés. Je ne suis pas certaine non plus du respect de la distance entre les tables.
Nous sommes restés moins d'une heure trente, car nous avions un spectacle.

Quel sympathique endroit! Excellente table, belle carte des vins, service sympathique et de bon conseil. Superbe soirée.

The biggest let down from a customer appreciation / service perspective I've experienced so far.

I chose this restaraunt as the place to celebrate the surprise proposal I was doing while visiting Montreal with my now Fiancé.

To anyone that is celebrating a proposal, you will know how much the whole day/weekend will mean to you. You want to make every second memorable for your partner. Unfortunatly this restaurant was the biggest let down and clearly do not appreciate potential customers who would like this celebration to include their business as part of their plans.

I reserved a table online a week in advance, leaving notes with my reservation booking to ask about someone contacting me to see if we could arrange something special for the evening. 2 days passed and I still had not hear anything from them. I then tried to call multiple times and even left voicemails asking for a call back and still did not hear anything. I then sent a message to them again on Touch Bistro booking system, still nothing. I even sent them a private message on their Instagram and not a word.

Do not waste your time with this place if you are looking to make a special memory or celebrate something, they clearly do not care about their customers.

Instead I booked us in at Gibby's Steak house which was AMAZING. They truly showed us a good time, and also brought out a wonderful dessert to congratulate us on the engagement.

Such a disappointment 1/10

1) I am entitled to constructively share feedback on my experience
2) I don't tend to propose every week so was hoping to speak with someone about ideas (Which seemed to be absolutely fine with the other restaurant which was exceptional)
3) I proposed in the day and this was the celebratory meal in the evening:)

4) At no point did I even ask for any free handouts and happy to also share the messages I wrote on here if needs be.
5) Your reputation can change if people are disatisified
6) Sending me a bill for what? Enjoy that one

Most importantly - Your response is so immature and unprofessional and really just demonstrates the way you think of your customers. Using sentences like "Hope you're not so lazy with your future wife or are you just another one of those entitled little brats" really shines a good light on your attitude to working with people.

SO HAPPY I never had to pay a dime towards your business when there are some SUPERB places out there in the beautuful city of Montreal.

It is just OK. The calamari is not that good. The pasta sauce is good. The waiter forgot pepper and parmesan

Today I had the Veal with Rapini. The ingredients are always FRESH and the food just like the "Old Country"

Yesterday was the first time we came to that place. But It is absolutely not the last. We enjoyed the evening very much with the good service, with the fine food and with the decent charge. We will no doubt visit there again.

Delicious Italian restaurant, great and friendly service, amazing food and very intimate, great for small groups.

I was the only one made to use hand sanitizer (not an issue, happy to use it) before entering the terrace for a dinner invitation, whereas the other diners were not required to. This means that other diners entered the terrace without having to use the hand sanitizer. I was also made to sit close to other people when there were other tables available. Was eventually able to change tables after a couple finished their dinner and left. As a final blow, the pasta dish I ordered was tasteless. Very disappointed with my evening there and would not recommend this place to anyone who doesn't meet a certain profile.

Delicious food, quiet terrasse, and amazing attentive service, the owner came to talk to us it was fun!

We have eaten at Salumi many times and we loved our experience each time. The owner Mario and the chef are great and friendly. Food is authentic Italian with very nice portions. We went recently with a large group and everyone was amazed by the food and the service. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want great Italian food and a nice dining experience.

Calm ambiance, great service and excellent dishes. This has got to be the go to place in Montreal for a wonderful diner. A guaranteed “Wow” will come once you see the dishes they serve you. Service was attentive and very efficient. Plus a long list of drinks to choose from. My family and I had a wonderful evening. Thank you to the staff.

Lovely spot in Old Montreal. Casual, business, or dress up as there's no dress code which is great! Prices are fair. $$. Wait staff are very attentive. We felt at ease and their patio had excellent privacy from the road. Friendly and professional. The cheifs are very good. The food was just right. We ordered the braised beef pasta, and the veal both were served hot and done to perfection! We didn't have room for dessert so we will have to go again to finish it. Minutes away from the port, easy to find, and well run.

La portion était petite, et mon saumon était recouvert d'une sauce aux arachides.
Je crois qu'un tartare devrait être frais en bouche et avoir différentes textures en plus d'être bien présenté dans l'assiette.
Mon repas était bon, mais pas WOW.
Et j'avais encore faim une fois terminé.

We came to Montreal for the Victoria Day long weekend from Toronto. Salumi Vino was our first restaurant stop for dinner. The food.the service.the ambiance.everything was exceptional. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Honestly the best Italian food I ever had. It had a great atmosphere and amazing staff. This is a must spot to go to.

Ive been to many restaurants in this city but never have i been so impressed with the quality of food and amazing service! Their menu is filled with a large voriety of exeptional dishes (ive tried most) and i can easliy say, it is the closest to eating a real, authentic Italian meal. I strongly suggest anyone looking to eat quaitly food, to try them out!

Un des meilleurs restaurant Italien au Québec et pas le plus cher pour autant. La nourriture y est excellente mais le rapport qualité / prix lui est hors de ce monde. Rien n'est trop cher et tout est préparé en cuisine ouverte, au vu du client. Les aliments sont visiblement frais et de qualité. Je ne comprends pas que l'on puisse servir de la nourriture d'une telle qualité et que ce soit aussi abordable. Français, Anglais, Italien, la réception du propriétaire qui est souvent sur les lieux est impeccable. À la vôtre.

The gnocchi is to die for, you can tell everything is homemade. The best Italian food in Montreal by far.

We went to Salumi Vino after reading all the great reviews on Trip Advisor actually. They weren't wrong!

I had the Pollo Toscana and the boyfriend had the Pappardelle con Manzo. They are both pictured and were both DELICIOUS. Serving sizes that will make you full and as someone who doesn't like pasta (it's a texture thing don't ask), I still tried the sauce of the Pappardelle con Manzo and it was great! We were also served bread with olive oil + balsamic vinegar just for breathing and being hungry I suppose.

The restaurant is quite small and you can see the Chefs doing their thang from your table which I thought was very cool. There is also a patio option but we wanted to be in the action.

Our waiter was wonderful and sorry if you're reading this I can't remember your name but the staff were great. On top of a great meal, the bottles of wine are such a good deal that if two of you are going to have a glass, you might as well go get the whole thing.

If I lived in Montreal this would be a regular spot for sure!

I made a reservation at Salumi Vino for an 8 person family reunion dinner early in the evening on a Saturday night. The owner was aware that an infant was included as a high chair was requested. Both the food and service were good. The 9 month old baby was vocal but not crying. Part way through dinner the owner came over and rudely said that the baby was too loud and we would have to leave. At the time there was only one other table of 2 and a few people at the bar. I would never recommend nor return to this restaurant.
