Complimentary breakfast with orange juice, coffee. Bagels, tosst, muffins, waffles. There is a kitchenette for cooking your own food. Small bar fridge tinside bunk room o keep your drnks cool is always a plus! Each bunk bed has a small shelf & power bar to charge your devices. Subway is almost across the street. There are convenience stotres, pharmacies, a grocery/health food store (Rachelle-Bery) close by. A little further away there is a supermarket (Maxi) on the corner of Ontario & Atateken.

There is no noise isolation between the bar / common area and the rooms so you can hear guests going on all night. There is not curfew so this can last all night.

À part les bêtes à sang-chaud dont on a pu sentir les secousses au deuxième étage du lit superposé, plutôt pas mal. Le salon-bar est fort bien, et l'ambiance y est agréable; et d'autant plus détendue qu'on nous y permet d'utiliser une carte "joker", remise à l'arrivée, pour un verre gratuit. Sinon, si quelqu'un a oublié sa brosse à dents, aucun souci: il en traîne une, ainsi que du dentifrice, dans le fond de la douche depuis déjà quelques temps. Je conseille!

Really bad hostel, dirty, bad wifi (keeps disconnecting), girl receptionist was rude, felt unsafe (maybe because was on a first floor). Dirty rooms. NOT RECOMMENDED

Amazing hostel, fairly near Rue Saint Denis where there’s a huge variety of restaurants! It’s pretty close to a metro station, but you could easily walk everywhere from the hostel!
The staff is super friendly! I don’t drink alcohol and Felix improvised a mocktail that tasted incredible!
They have activities everyday, and there’s a great atmosphere to meet new people!

This hostel was the crux of the whole vacation, no cap. For a more than reasonable price this place offered free brekky, linens, in-house kitchen, an in-house bar with some slammin happy hour deals, short distance to a metro crossing, and bus stations at every corner. This location made it very easy to get around, see everything, stay out late and still have the shortest routes home to make a frozen pizza before passing out. The bedrooms very spotless, good food, good brews, warm bed and easy travel, can't ask for more. Thank you Samesun staff.

A perfect hostel. Right next to busiest subway station of Montreal, this place is filled with travllers from around the world. Staff is amazing and very helpful. They will let you wait there before check in after checkout too, if you need to. Rooms could be bit more spacious given 8 people are living in there, but it wasn't that bad. Mattresses felt used and bunkbeds made some noise as people moved, but then again, most hostels has same situation.
Place was clean. Kitchen was well maintained. Good sitting and dinning area for breakfast and other meals. Internet was good too. I certainly recommend this hostel for anyone who is visiting Montreal be it for a day or weeks.

It was a very nice place, near almost everything, and it has a metro station nearby. The crew was very friendly and the hostel has a great vibe.

I’ve stayed for 3 nights. The staffs were so kind! And the location is very convinence. It’s near the station and various resturants! They have activites, so if u have time to join, it would be good!

Vibe was great, the bar right in the common area was great, and the proximity to the bus station was awesome. Mattresses need to be switched out as they were very indented, but clean and safe!

It's a hostel, not a hotel. So from that perspective it's alright. The morning breakfast was okay (when provided) and the room was clean. We booked a private room so can't say about the bunk bedrooms. Overall the establishment is clean.
The best thing about this place is, it's close to Berri-UQAM metro station, which is the hun for Montreal downtown metro. It's just a 5 minute walk from there which was very convenient for us.
However, we had a bad experience with this place. The day we were leaving we went to have the usual breakfast and everything was close. We, and other guests, waited for about half an hour but no one came to open their shop. It was totally unprofessional because they didn't even pick up the phone the whole day.
Also, we felt the private room was overpriced.

Really friendly staff. Rundown building and rooms with broken amenities, and cigarette holes in the bedsheets. Included breakfast consisted of jam on toast, cereal, filter coffee or orange juice - so I went out for breakfast. Location however is indeed perfect, and all the sketchy people in the park at the start of the street kept to themselves.

Awsome is the only word i can use to describe my stay in samesun montreal central. Wonderful polite and helpful staff. Best location to stay if u r in downtown and want to explore it. All major places are walking distance. Clean and spacious room. Tasty breakfast.

Stayed here while I attended the Montreal Jazz Fest. Excellent location, great staff. The Bixi bikes within 1 block make for easy travel throughout Montreal.

Concernant l'auberge:
Petit déjeuner très correct, muffins très bon!
Concernant la chambre, nous avions une chambre au RDC donnant sur un parking. Un peu bruyant en soirée nuit avec la présence de personnes semblant quelque peu. Désorientées.
Le personnel est très sympa et très arrangeant.

Sur le quartier:
Très pratique, supermarché, fast foot, resto, Tout à proximité immédiate, même le métro.
Cependant, le secteur peut ne pas convenir à tout le monde.
Venu avec ma compagne, c'est un quartier qu'elle ne conseillerais pas à une femme seule (elle n'osait pas sortir fumer sa cigarette seule). Beaucoup de personnes semblant drogues ou alcoolisées au niveau du parc à proximité et de la rue Catherine Est.

Decent and clean. Supprisingly great shower. Staff speaks well and multiple languages. Friendly and activities. Location is perfect for many parks and events if you time well. I recommend checking out parc activities nearby. Seemed well animated and frequent.

Cheap comfortable and well located. Close to the transit station too. (Long distance bus and other)

Bixi bikes are an option and nearby. To rent a bike and just deposit it in another station anywhere. You can just take another one when you wish and don't need to get back the same one. (But do return your bikes each time. Safety deposit is high too. But return it well and your fine)

I came here just for a night (in transit). The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly and so helpful.especially the overnight staff. They helped me print my bus tickets and as well as other situations that arose.

The room was clean and very comfortable, it had a great shower and bed. The breakfast was delicious. Great location. I would definitely recommend it.

Literie vraiment pas confort et propreté à améliorer. Je déconseille pour plusieurs jours si on veut bien dormir (dortoirs). Bien situé pour se balader et très proche de la gare de bus, pour ça c'est bien pratique.

Excellent hostel and small onsuite room. Everything was clean and cozy, though having a street facing room was a little noisy overnight.
Service was excellent, coffee cups were well appreciated, and company of other world travellers was fun.
I just wish breakfast started earlier than 7: 30 as it's not useful for going to the office later.

Me and my friend booked a private room for 2/25. When we arrived, the front desk girl said that her colleague had changed our reservation w/o telling anyone or w/o reason so the computer showed that our check in was 2/27 instead. She apologized and gave us a “private” 8-bed dorm just for us. We were okay about the situation. But one day we came back to find wet foot prints on the ground that did not come from us. Apparently a guest came into our room while we were out bc the girl forgot that she had promised us the room as private. Also the place was disgustingly dirty. There was a piece of food under the bed, web of dust on the ceiling, mold in the bathroom (and overall not shiny clean), stubborn stains on the bed sheets with beds that were very squeaky and uncomfortable.

The staff was kind and funny. The price was very good. Rooms a little bit small, but was ok for 1 night. The location is not very wow, but it's quite closer to a street full of restaurants. I suppose it is OK for backpackers.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a short trip to Montréal last week. Our private twin room was very comfortable. The shower was great, bathroom had clean towels & we were easily able to ask for more toilet paper when we needed some. The front desk is located right by the front doors, and you need your keycard to enter the building which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We never felt unsafe or uncomfortable, staff was friendly & helpful, and the location is perfect. Was located just around the block from our bus stop, and we were able to explore so much of the city on foot. Very affordable as well, and nicer than most significantly more expensive motels I’ve stayed at before.

Belle place, comme dans toutes auberge de jeunesse. Le staff es vraiment cool (pas mal moins poche qu'au M Montreal) les clients très agréable et de bonne jasette.

Love the location. It‘s near downtown, there’re nearby bus and metro stations, convenience stores, food street - most of the places are walking distance. Rooms are clean and furnished as described. Although the size is a bit smaller than expected and the blow dryer needs an adaptor, which would cost you if you ask for one at the reception - luckily, I had an adaptor that works with it, so all good. Breakfast is great! Really love their homemade muffins and the waffles. Just a bit sad that they don‘t really refill the food/drinks anymore after 9am (breakfast is from 8am-10am). So you would really have to get breakfast at around 8: 30, at least, to actually choose between all the options.
Community kitchen is also equipped with a lot of things, from pans to utensils to baling sheets to measuring cups and all the spices. You won‘t really need to buy that much for grocery if you do decide to cook.
Sadly, access to the bar is also limited - due to Covid.

OK maybe my fault and first timer in dorm arriving at 10.30 I pre booked great price I arrived paid I whas very well greated by the host checking me in smiling, polite, serviable,
In a hostel or place with dorms well people have places to chill at my deception the lounge couch basically the reception hall is considered pub, 2 dose proof to enter if mention on their site I really dint see it anyway.
2nd I open the door 4 x 2bunks seemed spacious cause it's pich black cant see bed opened a light in bathroom but maybe its me I hate disturbing locker I could see just the taught of going thru my back pack wich I dint even took off my back nooop. Went back to desk clerk whasent autorised to refund said he would leave note to manager 1 day after dint here anything.
My recommendation would be simple and I have hard time rating in stars cause it's tweaking the staff when that situation arrived not much experience in dorm or place wich is easily ask in the booking process
If the clerk wich did an amazing job of what his superiors told him, would of came and show a little dim light switch and and explained that it's cheap but your 8 they and you expect bit noise or be bothered have some in and out.

Excellent in terms of money and services. The staff was friendly. Would like to mention Merry and one guy who is good with cards were helpful with guests all the time. Only thing need some improvement is breakfast options. For a vegetarian, you can include two pieces of bread as they can't eat muffins or cake.

Had a surprisingly very pleasant stay at this location of Samesun, with it surpassing all my expectations as I didn’t expect much from a hostel! It is a very central location just off of bustling St. Catherine Street, with amenities close by and half half a block away from the central hub Berri-UQAM metro station.

Super clean, very modern, well decorated, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and this was even during the lockdown at peak pandemic times. Certain amenities were closed obviously, but I can see this being a hive of activity and a wonderful place to not only stay, but also interact with fellow travellers once this craziness of the pandemic is over and done with!

Bel hôtel, propre et équipe de la réception très sympathique (sauf un qui était désagréable mais il n'y a jamais rien de parfait.

En 1 an, et beaucoup de voyage, c’est l’endroit le plus parfait qualité/prix que j’ai visité. Merci beaucoup, j’aurais aimer pouvoir profité plus de la place, mais du au covid, beaucoup de choses sont restreintes mais les gens sont là pour vous avec le sourire.

Endroit très calme. Service hors pair avec Mlle ELISE. Propre, belle chambre. Je n'ai rien que du bien à dire de cet endroit. Continuez votre beau travail.

The front desk was amazing. The room was nice, but the walls were so thin. While I was sleeping I could hear the people next door’s conversation. I reported it nothing happened.

Super propre avec beaucoup deprofessionalisme Il ny a pas de tire bouchon a notre disposition cependant donc pas de petit verre de vino dans le spa.: (seule grande déception et le pas de.buanderie accessible 24h jai trouve cela un peu dommage)

Its good for me, blankets, pillows towels smell well sterile. The room not musty smell. The only thing you can hear a bit of a noise in the hall and nearby room and the small fridge inside my room make noise when it turn on and off. Wonderful staff morning or night shift. The reception guy (sorry did not took his name) even went out to check me out from the street cuz i get lost or can't follow direction and get me. Definitely I recommend.

People I stayed with were nice, it was very clean and the people that work here are nice and it’s really close to all the bars and clubs and all stuff fun, 10/10 recommend

Lieu chaleureux, très bonne situation géographique, bonne ambiance, activités organisées, retransmissions de rencontres sportives et un grand canapé bien confortable:) personnel au top! Lieu très bien pensé et agréable pour court ou moyen séjour. Seul hic: certains ne respectent pas les lieux.mais on y fait de tout de même de bonnes rencontres avec des personnes de tous horizons:) je recommande!

Yo, Toronto.you need something like this! A vegetarian / vegan restaurant that is *licensed* (hello!), and that attracts a cool, hip crowd. Get with it! You are torturing me.

Great place for backpers. The staff is very nice and easy-going; they really make you feel at home. The vibe is amazing and the activities are very fun. Price and service are extremely competitive. Just a great to stay and have a good time!

Samesun is a cozy hotel with a very friendly stuff and great prizes. We got a private room and it was very clean, environment friendly with soap dispensers, an individual air conditioner that works very fast and well to heat the room. There are some drawers and handles for the clothes. Coffee and thea are free all day around and they have a nice bar with complimentary breakfast and special night events. Also, it is really quiet at night, the only noise that of the mini fridge. The only thing I would improve are pillows, but I'm used to very good ones at home. The bed was also very comfortable. And it is close to many nice place for dinner and shopping. I came to Montreal on vacation and I think it is a great place to spend a few days and enjoy the city. And it is close to the subway.

It's quite nice. The staff are amazing and provide a very homey feel. The rooms are cheap but cool. Overall it's amazing, like a summer camp with activities you can sign up for. I love it. My only complaint is that my room was too hot at night but that's just me

Très mauvaise expérience! Le staff préfère demander aux gens qui se plaignent de quitter les lieux plutôt que de trouver une vraie solution. Lamentable.des mec camés scouat cet établissement et apparemment ça ne dérange pas le staff. Et ne venez pas dire que c'est du diabète ou "juste" de la marijuana comme dans les autres commentaires négatifs, il ne faut pas prendre vos clients pour des abrutis et encore moins les traiter de menteur.soyez professionnel et vérifiez ce qu'il ce passe dans votre établissement!

Experience pas très agréable au tout début.
J’étais dans une chambre censée être mixte.
Je me suis retrouvée seul avec que des hommes dont un très étrange faisant beaucoup de bruits entre 1-3h du matin ce qui est désagréable. (ce qui a été noté déjà par une cliente qui avait déjà subi ce problème, et moi témoin l’ayant subi).
Je me suis plainte à la réception demandant à changer de chambre.
Ma demande a été entendu.
On m’a changé de chambre ce qui a été beaucoup plus agréable pour moi.
Un membre de la réception m’à demandé ce que j’avais entendu et je leur est dit des nuisances désagréables d’une personne. (le même qui en parallèle s’avère être là même personne dont la plupart des clients ce sont plaints).
Je trouve cela décevant qu’il ne tienne pas compte de l’avis des clients sachant que je n’étais pas la première à me plaindre de cette personne.
Mon avis a été entendu mais celui de d’autres personnes avant moi a été biaisé ce qui est très décevant.
Je ne dirais que ceci et c’est mon avis, Un conseil apprenez à tenir compte de l’avis du client, cela fera de votre auberge un endroit conviviale et non un endroit où chaque nuit certaines personnes s’inquiètent de savoir comment va se dérouler leur nuit.
De même certains clients ont subit de la part des dirigeants des mots inadmissibles et méritez plus de respect à leur égard vu la situation dans laquelle ils étaient.
En général mon expérience a été correcte.
Je remercierais certains membres du staff qui ont été très agréables avec moi et a l´écoute.
Ils se reconnaîtront.
Ceci est décevant pour une auberge étant très bien située dans le centre et à côté d’endroits très agréables.

AUBERGE A EVITER!
C'est de loin la pire expérience que j'ai eu dans une auberge de jeunesse.
C'est un squat à drogués (et je ne parle pas de marijuana) mais plutôt d'héroïne et autres substances illégale.
J'étais dans un dortoir 8 lits, et un homme dans cette chambre, faisait des choses étranges à 3h du matin TOUTES LES NUITS dans la salle de bain. Avec une fille de la chambre nous en avons parlé au staff et ils nous ont dit qu'effectivement il faisait des choses étranges et que donc ils allaient enfin pouvoir le virer de l'auberge (CE SONT LES MOTS D'ELOISE) ; nous étions donc rassurés avec les personnes de ma chambre.
Finalement ce n'était que des mots, le staff n'a absolument rien fais et à laisser cet homme dans la chambre, alors que nous nous sommes plainte plusieurs fois de ses bruits étrange qu'il faisait dans cette salle de bain, mais le staff (ET SURTOUT MICHAEL LE CO MANAGER) a préférer nous dire que c'était sûrement un diabétique d'où les bruits étranges, sauf que nous ne sommes pas des idiots, et reconnaissons et savons différencier le bruit de quelqu'un qui cherche la veine à piquer, et quelqu'un qui est diabétique.
De surplus, le staff montre un visage sympathique au début, et au moindre souci de ce genre, ils deviennent agressif et irrespectueux envers sa clientèle. Ils ne sont pas à l'écoute du réel problème que l'on vit dans cette chambre et ne nous croit pas.
Au final, je suis partis de cette auberge, mais mon amie qui n'avait pas d'autres choix que d'y rester, un matin, ELOISE est entrer dans sa chambre pour lui dire qu'elle devait quitter l'auberge car cela mettait "une mauvaise ambiance" (donc en fait se plaindre d'un dérangement, c'est créer une mauvaise ambiance d'après eux).
D'ailleurs mon amie et une autre fille avait mis un mauvais commentaire sur l'auberge, d'où le fait que le staff à voulu les virer (quelle lâcheté!) au lieu de les aider à résoudre le problème.

Michael le co manager est très agressif et n'a pas envie de croire à ce que l'on dit, il préfère nous dire clairement dans les yeux que ce que l'on dit n'est pas vrai.

JE DECONSEILLE FORTEMENT CET ETABLISSEMENT. Payer une chambre assez cher pour vivre ça, c'est clairement honteux.

La propreté laisse à désirer! Nous y avons passé trois nuits.
Les draps à notre arrivée n'étaient pas propres, ce que nous sommes allés dire à la réception. Ils ont été changés tout de suite par une employée faisant la tête et n'étant pas très polie après notre réclamation mais seulement certains draps car la housses de la couverture plus épaisse n'est jamais changée, elle a l'odeur de différents parfums. Une odeur de moisi persiste dans la chambre et la propreté de la baignoire/douche laisse à désirer.
Ensuite nous avons eu le droit à l'alarme du détecteur de fumée qui n'a pas cessé de retentir c'est pourquoi nous avons demandé à la réception de le démonter. Nous avons également eu une personne qui a voulu s'introduire dans notre chambre pensant qu'il l'avait loué une nuit supplémentaire.
Le seul point positif que nous avons relevé, est la réactivité et la sympathie du personnel de la réception.

Je ne recommande pas cet hotel!
C'est un point de vente de drogue et de drogués, le personnel est au courant de la situation!
