My second visit to Sansotei Ramen on Sainte-Catherine, while visiting Montreal. This is a bright and airy place on the busy Sainte-Catherine street. Great place for a meal before heading on to Old Montreal, if you are sightseeing.

I tried the tomato base ramen this time for a change and it was good. However, I still prefer the more traditional ramen broth. I like that they provide the whole egg instead of just half of it, like some places do. If I recall correctly, I had the corn as an add-on.

The best place for a ramen, my kids, wife and I, we loved it. Very recommend.the best waitresses ever, very kind and efficient.very fast service.

Délicieux! Je ne m'attendais pas à cela lorsque j'ai commandé avec Uber pour livraison. Franchement savoureux pour le prix. Je vais commander à nouveau.

Fast & good service. In total, it took us 15min In & Out. The quality of the ingredients was good. The broth was not salty enough for the Tonkotsu. The broth for the Tantan spicy was way too oily. Overall ok experience.

Very fast and friendly service. The most delicious broth I have ever had in all their ramens and tonkatsu's, a very well balanced flavour with depth. Inexpensive for Montreal food and yet still incredibly delicious.

I went a Monday night with a group of 5. We had to wait a but since the place is quite small. They have nice varieties of ramen options and a great variety of drinks as well. Their match drink was excellent and the service was good as well. Their fried chicken is a must as well.

Place was full but we got a table pretty fast, the food was good, pretty average. When paying the bill I was obligated to pay for a tip (even if the service or good or not) I paid for my food, then everyone else paid and the waitress said "I already put the tip on your bill but I forgot to add when you were paying so you have to pay at least 10%" which was pretty odd and my friends also thought her behavior was weird but I just paid anyway and left.

The black tonkotsu ramen is definitely worth trying. Thick noodles is the way to go. Ah! And I always recommend asking for extra noodles! Thank me later

Good spot for ramen with a lot of seating on the first and second floors. Ordered the tonkotsu and shoyu ramens.

The portion size was a lot for one person or is good enough if you’re a big eater. The noodles were firm and cooked well and the broth was rich but not overly salty. The pork was decent, it tasted quite old and was a bit too overdone for me.

The restaurant is always crowded, illustrating its popularity. I recommend miso ramen, and chicken zangi. My only issue with this restaurant is that I am still hungry after eating a bowl of ramen!

Last time I tried Sansoitei was in Toronto, so happy that they open this Ramen restaurant in Montreal.
BTW Japanese food is a little bit more salty, if you don't like salty you should not try the Japanese food.

Je commandais très souvent ici. Je ne sais pas se qui c’est passé mais j’ai vu une dégradation de la qualité du service comme de la nourriture.

J’ai changé mon avis qui était 5 étoile pour 3, car malheureusement Sansotei n’est plus aussi bon qu’il était.

Erreur dans les commandes un peu trop fréquente, viande caoutchouteuse, qualité de repas très aléatoire… C’est rendu, selon moi, un resto de ramen bien, sans plus. Avant c’était le meilleur!

Trendy little restaurant. The service was fast and friendly. The vegetarian ramen that I ordered was delicious, spicy enough and very creamy. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent food, we had the black ramen and the ginger gyoza. Both came out quick and were well spiced and salted. Service was great too! Thank you.

Sansotei was alright. They were out of a lot of stuff when went so was down to my third option. I wouldn't say the ramen here is all that great. The chicken on the other hand was fantastic. Very crispy and they used thigh meat which was great. Hot very crispy but still really juicy. So good I had two orders.

One of the best place for ramen! Service is quick, staff is great and the ramen are off the hook and the broth are so tasty. Long live to this place!

Perfect place for ramens. Ambiance is great. Soups are amazing and the service as well. We got served in french which is a plus. Staff were really on point.

I love their Black Ramens. They sure know how to make a flavorful broth! It’s one of my favorites in Montreal. Staff is also very nice and attentive

Very authentic tasting ramen. I've done 10-15 ramen crawls in Japan and this stuff is very much standard tasting Japanese ramen. Price is about right for what you get, too. Highly recommend this for a quick hot bite.

Great food! Super-tasty! If it's loud or noisy - because it's packed with super-happy people, repeat the order back to get a confirmation. Something could have been missed or misheard.

The food was excellent. They have a small menu and everything is delicious and reasonably priced.

The location is small and if it's cold outside then every time the door opens the whole place gets a cold breeze. They could use a double door entrance or something.

Perfect Ramen! J'ai essayé le Tonkotsu Noir, juste excellent, porc fondant, bouillon bien équilibré. J'en aurais pris plus!

Great place for ramen if the other places in downtown are full. Staff are very nice! We ordered a few different ramen.
None of them really shined special compared to other places.

The broth was fine but the garlic oil made it a little heavy for me. The char siu was well roasted and the extra saltiness helped balance the broth. The eggs were well cooked though the eggs didnt seem to be marinated for long enough.

We took extra noodle so portion make look larger on my picture.

One negative would be the lack of garnish. Their garnish options were very small or limited.

Very good, although we came a bit late (2pm) and they didnt have 2 types of ramen of 5 available.

Tasted awfaul I couldn't even finsh it. The bills made no sense, my friend and I ordered the same thing but somehow one bill cost more than the other. They also refused to give me my bill after I paid. The service was also bad overall everything made me just want to get out of there asap.

This place is a real Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen!
I went twice during my stay in Montreal this summer.
As a Ramen Lover you need to order the gyoza for appetizer.
As you know Ramen is a Japanese soul food dish.
Great place and great atmosphere!

Stormy day in Quebec City brought us back to Montreal earlier. We were craving comfort food and we remember seeing Sansotei Ramen while walking around the city.

- yuzu cheesecake

You can choose thin or thick noodles. We were all quiet while we devoured our ramen. The broth was good and not too rich, the way I like it. However, my family wanted more flavour "richer' taste. In Vancouver, there are lots of competitive amazing ramen restaurants especially downtown Vancouver and Richmond, BC which you can customize your broth. Regardless, it felt like 'home' while dining at Sansotei. One thing to note, while dining in Montreal, don't expect partitions between tables or table distance for health and safety. They do check QR code and so far, they all accept BC QR code with ID. This was during mid-November 2021. Service was great!

Tried it for the first time, they had delicious tonkotsu ramens for a fair price, the place was clean & the staffs were friendly. Keep up the good work!

Small nice restaurant the minute is limites 5 options of ramen few appetizers and some drinks the prices are from 14 to 20$. The food is tasty but there is not enough meat. They gave us 2 slices of pork meat in the whole bowel. The food was tasty the service is good the restaurent setting is so small. They took time to prepare the food.
