Easy to miss on the street but this place has amazing Singaporean food, has great energy and is very unique. Also it gets packed so expect a wait (it’s worth it!)

The food was delicious. The dense and spicy chicken soup is perfect for a cold winter day. The ribs was well marinated. The sandwich looked like a normal sandwich but was surprisingly tasty!
The only issue was that we were sat in a very ill lit corner of the restaurant. It was very difficult to see the menu or even the food. The picture were taken using nightmode, it was a very very dim corner.
They certainly need more lights there.

Always great vibes, great food and a great time at Satay Brothers! They slid us in before a reservation, but we never felt pressured and the service was amazing.

Honestly can't say enough good things about this place. The service was some of the best service I have ever had in a restaurant. Warm and welcoming. My wife is disabled and they did everything they could to make sure that she was comfortable. The server gave us great recommendations and we chose the papaya salad, bbq pork buns, chicken satay, the fried rice and the coconut milk braised beef. The food was delicious and hot and it came out so quickly even though it very busy. We looked around at the other customers and all we could see was smiles and people having a great time.
I would give this restaurant six out of five if I could. Do yourself a favour and eat here.

Staff was horrible, white male waiter was rude and truly should be fired, food was decent, but service was terrible. Satay, be wary of your staff please!

Amazing spot, one of my favourites in the neighborhood. Also tried the bar attached to the restaurant and the drinks and atmosphere were great!

When I was waiting for my order, I asked my waiter for a glass for my beer. Instead, he asked a small, busy girl who was nearby, but she responded in front of me that she didn't have time and wouldn't do it.

After a brief wait, I asked another waiter again for the glass. This time, he rudely threw the glass onto the table after his coworker gave the same response. The glass nearly knocked over another glass of water already served on the table, and it was unpleasantly delivered.

Love love love this place! Hands down my favourite restaurant in Montreal. The food is delicious, everyone who works here is super nice and the price is right. It's always a fun outing, whether it be a quick lunch at their market stand or a night out at their restaurant. And fantastic music every time!

J'ai commandé en ligne le pic nic pour 2 pour emporter à 45$ et la quantité était microscopique, c'était à peine suffisant pour 1 seule personne, j'ai été extrêmement déçû de ce que j'ai obtenu, en plus j'avais laissé un bon tip. Je ne recommande pas de commander à ce resto si vous avez une bonne apétit.

Service tout simplement extraordinaire, ambience magnifique, nourriture succulente. Prix abordables. Extremement ravie de nous avoir trouvés.

Good restaurant. The popaya salad and steam buns were fantastic! I also enjoyed the rendang and satay sandwich. I tried all the deserts and they were ok. However, I was disappointed with the laksa. You'd expect it to be full of flavors with how colorful it is. It was bland. I couldn't taste anything. This was the plate I was mostly looking forward to taste. And it was very underwhelming.

The decor is beautiful and I have no complaints toward the service. However, I do not suggest this place for people who hate loud music. It was way too loud. I couldn't hear the person right next to me.

If you're okay with a loud environment, then you should try out their steam buns and popaya salad. I may come back to try other dishes.

This is not going to go well, unfortunately. This was my experience with a takeout order I placed Nov 26th, 2021 (6: 30 PM).

This was my first time ordering from Satay Brothers. I ordered three items, the "3-piece fried chicken", the "picnic for 2", and a "satay sandwich" Presumably this was to feed three adults and one 11 yo.child. To say this food was over-priced would not be an exaggeration. One of the attached photos depicts what you get for $45.00, $12.50, and $9.50. Not much food there. Certainly not enough to feed three adults and the one child.

I placed the order online via one of their partners, "CHK PLZ". The payment process shuffles you through as quickly as possible to the "pay now" dialog. The order was received and the pickup time was clear. Notice there is very little emphasis of the actual price that will be charged as this appears in the smallest font on the page.

As we were unpacking the bag the food came in, I noticed that there was an $11.55 tip added to the bill. I specifically indicated I was not leaving a tip, or so I thought. Not to be cheap, but this was a takeout order. There was no waitress or waiter serving us.

After eating, I tried repeatedly to contact Satay Bros via the telephone number on their website without success. Voice mail answers, with no possibility of leaving a message.

There is no doubt this is a popular restaurant as the food is very good. Nothing to complain about there. But it's not $89 good for the amount we got.

Would I return to Satay Bros or consider ordering takeout from them again? Not for the foreseeable future. I'd caution anyone placing a takeout order to proceed very carefully through the checkout process.

As a final note, Covid is getting long in the tooth. We all want to return to a normal lifestyle. Social distancing, masks, etc.is getting to us all. As popular as Satay Bros is, the place was packed like a bar on a Friday night, pre-Covid-era.with people standing in line to get in. Great for business. Not great for trying to end this pandemic.

A very lively and alluring atmosphere. The staff have a great level of hospitality. Everything was great but the baos are to die for!

One of the best restaurants experience I ever had. The staff was extremely friendly in a upbeat ambience and decor. Everything on the menu was excellent and was very well prepared and thought of. The prices are very affordable. You must try this unique gem. This can’t be replicated.

Updated: once again this restaurant amazed us in so many levels. The food is unbelievably filled with balance flavours.

The satay portion is really small. Laksa is a must to order. My friend ordered randang which was really good, the beef was tender. Overall, this restaurant is good but pricey for the portion.

Amazing food! We had a few appetizers and drinks. The food is a 10/10 But the Staff was a show stealer Carl and Julia I happened to mention that I have shell fish allergy I had 4 servers coming to my table informing me about everything in detail about the food (ingredients) and checking on me.
I will come back for the staff and the food again and again and again️

The Chicken Satay here is the bomb! Best satay we had. The service is awesome. The food here is authentic! Portion size is small but great food!

It is what it says on the box: Malay/Indonesian food. That kind of food is rare, but when you can find it this is 3/5 within the range.prices are ok, drinks are good.

It genuinely does not look like much on the outside - especially if you know the fun spot at Atwater Market- this place can easily go unnoticed. That being said, once inside, you'll get a fun atmosphere, great food and flavorful cocktails. The service is friendly, the food delicious and reasonably priced and the ambience is perfect for a date or a group outing.

A delicious menu that can be the top of many lists but the sandwich is worth the extra effort. A beautiful mix of seasonings dances on the tongue as you savour each bite of this abundant beast. Very well cooked meat and perfectly crispy bread is enjoyable rain or shine. (Thanks to the tents at Atwater market we were able to enjoy it in the former)

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the Sud-Ouest area. I dream about Laksa on a regular basis and the vibe there is great too!

Bruh, this place is over expensive for the portion they give. Their meat brochette comes with 2 small steak meat each. 3 of these costs 12? Bruh, seriously? The only good thing was their sea food noodles. The broth was good. Their pork noodle way too salty and very average.

Food was okay, a bit overhyped so we had high expectations. The food at the Atwater market branch is really good so we were expecting something similar here.

Do not hesitate to order several plates to share and have a real taste on the different propositions. My favorites were the buns with porc and the veggie fritters. Very tasty!

I ordered online and they were closed when I went to pick up my food during business hours! WTH!?

Always good as ever. Food is nice and hot, the spicy levels are on par to back home. The staff is great the atmosphere is great

I went to Singapour and I can confirm that this is a legit experience! Yummy food and lovely ambiance. Yes, it's convenient for larger groups as well. Watch out for non spicy eaters! You need to be able to handle the heat.:)

Always a pleasure to be welcomed into a vibration of love and music, lifting spirits. Food is delicious and taste buds are sure to wake up and make you travel. Saturdays menu was papaya salad, tofu buns, and meego a seafood noodle dish with all the right spices. Even with Covid they manage to keep the beat and blast your socks off all your senses. Highly recommend.
They also have a wide array of drinks available to go. Great for a picnic any day.

Food is really delicious (the buns with the tempeh - omg - and the peanut satay sauce) and they have lots of veggies options which is so nice but its definitely a little pricy for the portion size. Regardless, it's always a treat to eat their food (and to take out for a picnic by the canal).

Laksa soup is THE BEST! Papaya salad, shrimp buns, ribs, seafood noodles.everything is delicious! Staff and service is great.

Le fameux Sarah Brothers! Bon, finalement.c’était pas terrible! Globalement, j’ai été assez déçu de tout les plats qu’on a commandé. Hormis les buns, qui étaient très bons mais horriblement cher! En vrais, pour le peu qu’on avait dans nos assiette, la facture était très salé (comme leur soupe!)

Food was ok. I was expecting more punch and flavor out of the bao buns (both tufu and pork belly). Chicken was good as was the laksa soup that my daughter liked very much. Papaya salad tasted earthy but was ok. Go try it u have nothing to lose.

Went on a Thursday night. Service was quick. Food is great and fresh. Staff is really nice and they enjoy working there, it shows:) Decor is super cozy and original. Will go back for sure!

Really enjoyed the pork buns and satay, and their new fried chicken is amazing! Wasn't a huge fan of the Meegorang but it seemed to go down well for my husband and son.

This restaurant is overhyped. I had been told by multiple people that this restaurant was fantastic (maybe it was my own fault for setting high expectations). When I went there, this is what I found.

Pros:

great atmosphere and good sake.

Cons:

- Poor quality ingredients (meat felt like it was 30% fat, compared to fresh cuts having under 10%; felt greasy and left me feeling dirty)

- Poor attention to detail on the cooking (some items burnt, other just fine; why no consistency?)

- Overpriced for what you get.

I would not go back.
I would not bring my friends there.
Better chance of finding something good elsewhere if you keep looking.

This place is really cool. Might take some time to get in as there are no reservations accepted here. Might sound frustrating, but leave your frustrations at the door. Been a long time since someone asked me if I'd like a drink while waiting to get in, surprisingly fast drink to my hand. Service here is truly outstanding. Don't go here cuz you will end up diluting the exemplary service. Don't forget to sign up for the club. Hahaha

J'ai été déçue de la bouffe. La brochette de tempeh était plutôt ordinaire et les rouleaux frits étaient mous et huileux. Belle déco. Endroit bruyant.

Vraiment délicieux et original! Je n'ai jamais goûté à quelque chose de semblable à Montréal. Super endroit pour un 5 à 7 entre collègues, ou pour n'importe quelle excuse. Les plats se partagent bien, le service est rapide et courtois. La salade de papaye et les petits buns à la viande (même si ce plat peut avoir l'air ordinaire, faut pas se fier aux apparences) sont un MUST.

Underwhelming flavors. We went there twice, tried 6 different items on the menu, and none of them were items we would take again except for the pork buns. Their hospital branch has better food selections.

I had the meegoreng and it tasted alright on the spot, although the seafood had a funny texture but one hour later OMG I was puking everything. I spent the night hugging my toilet. Ate at 10 pm, puked until 4am. I had only had a toast 6 hours before going to Satay brothers so I know for SURE that it's their plate that made me feel like that. Tried reaching out to them on social media, so far no answer.

***This place is definitely not worth 5 stars. The food is just normal and it's too expensive for what it is. In the reviews someone admits that the restaurant offers a free drink for a 5 stars review.

Quite a chill place with original recipes. The round table you share with people make that place more welcoming than any other Asian restaurant.

I heard great things about this place for a while now and finally got a chance to try it out. What better day than Friday and first snow day of the season.

Anyways, I had one main thing to order in mind and it was the pork buns. They were amazing, flavorful and simple. I could just go there to eat a bunch of those delicious buns.

I also had the papaya salda, which, in my very personal opinion wasnt my kind of dish. It was too acidic for my taste but am sure that it could be just me. Its one of their most ordered dishes so might as well give it a try.

The papaya salad it is not the reason why Im giving it a 4 star. I ordered the chow mein noodles with lobster (half portion). The taste was good, noodles were great, lobster was super good but it was just TOO MUCH noodles and just tiny bits of lobster, few mushrooms and bok choy. The half portion was on the meat, in this case being the lobster but it was too big of a dish for two. They could bring down the size, especially for couples, and could push us to try more different plates rather than just getting filled with noodles.

Also tried the pork ribs. Super good, sweet and spicy.

Overall a great place to go. Will go back soon to try some of their soups that looked very nice. I was also sitting on the kitchen bar and love seeing the way they prepare different dishes.

Ambiance électrisante, nourriture excellente et des serveurs très sympathiques. Je vous suggère les pains vapeur, les brochettes Satay et le ris frit.
À noter: ce sont de grandes tables où vous pouvez vous retrouver assis avec 3 autres couples autour d'une table, ce n'est peut-être pas le meilleur endroit pour un souper tranquille.

Restaurent style festif, 5 @ 7, branché, décontracté. On partage les plats et on boit de la bière. La bouffe est très bonne, style singapourien qui dise. Certaines assiettes sont suffisamment grosses pour une personne, et d’autre c’est plus style entré à partager. La bouffe est tellement bonne, que je me suis commandé deux fois la même affaire même si j’avais pu faim! La facture était élevée, mais bon, super endroit, super ambiance, super expérience.

Dee-lish! You are probably going because of the pork buns & you are so right to. The green papaya salad is so fresh and has a brighter flavour profile than a neon sign at a pawn shop = soo good. Yummy stuff.

Went there a week ago and they had really good food! If you want to try fusion asian food, this is the place. But make sure you reserve seats in advance as waiting line is always long.
