Service is kind of slow right now because I think they are short staffed, but the atmosphere was great

My go-to place for a caffeine fix when I am in the area. Always open, always a table available, consistently good coffee.

Second cup usually rates better however this one is a dump, 1 bathroom been closed for many months, place is far from clean and just looks run down. If you are going to sell premium product then at least clean up the place. There has been no improvements in the last year.

First let me say second cup has the best mocha anywhere and I like that it is a Canadian business. Having said that the lady with glasses who just served me was so lazy and she gave me an iced drink when I did not want iced. I ordered a large mocha. Mocha by default is warm and today is a rainy day. I said “can I have a large mocha”, she said hot or iced? Why ask that? It’s rainy and I ordered a mocha by default it’s warm. She also did not give me my receipt as well. Terrible glasses lady with dark hair you should get a different job and maybe a brain transplant. Also this is like the third time they are out of breakfast sandwiches. No whipped cream either for 3 days so far.

Literally can’t understand how this place is still open. It is absolutely disgusting. Pastries are not just stale but literally permeated with mould as this cookie I just bought. There is never enough staff, and those who are there are barely concerned with serving the customers and never seem to be able to make a latter even just barely correctly. Bathrooms are gross beyond words. And the most shocking thing is this place has been this way for years. I rarely make reviews but this is a case that just begs for it. So bad.

It’s a Second Cup. Decent seating. A variety of drinks with fancy names. Sweet pastries. Nice place to meet up with a friend and sit and chat for a bit.

Low on battery in my Chevy Volt, I pulled up to the Monkland Second Cup expecting just your average coffee - I mean, how different could these franchise locations be? What I didn’t expect was such a warm, caring atmosphere. I was greeted with a smile by Jacob, who proceeded to make me laugh multiple times as I was ordering. The staff then prepared a truly delicious cappuccino for me and handed it to me with a “here you go Evan, have a wonderful day! ”

There are lots of books here for entertainment and things to entertain the kids, the playlist was perfect, and the atmosphere was so lovely that I just didn’t want to leave. My favourite cafe in Montreal!

My buddy used to own this place years ago. I spent many a Saturday here hanging out and loved the place. My buddy sold his shares and left in 2016. Needless to say, it went downhill not long after. I visited last summer and was appalled at the service and general uncleanliness of the place. Litter left on tables, dirty floors, horrid condition of bathrooms. Even the coffee was meh. I stopped in this past Sunday and was happy with what I saw: improved service, cleaner premises, and better atmosphere. New management has taken over since January. To them, I say keep up the good work.

No Wifi! And I'm sure they loose customers because of that (me at least). They give you a remote open public Wifi code but cannot connect to it because too far (it's from another bar) so totally useless!

Had a lovely experience at this cafe. Staff were cheerful and polite. They included me in their conversation which was nice to experience! My order came quickly and the coffee was great. A hot cup of coffee is great for the winter!

This is my favorite place to unwind after work. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the coffee is well-made (not too weak!) and the staff is always kind and do a great job!

Calm place to work in the evening. Quick service, and yummy drink! I had the maple chai latte and it was really good. Fairly clean. You can find plugs near a few tabled which is always good. They also close at 9 which is probably one of the latest hours for a coffee shop. So, it’s a good option for evening work or yummy drink. The only downside is that there is no wifi, but you can connect to Juliette & Chocolat’s wifi from across the street (which is why I am assuming they don’t have wifi).

The latte was ok. Got a chocolate cake and it was dry and old as hell. Not worth it for the price paid.

Always extremely long wait in the morning (when people have places to be), whether you’re in person or order thro Uber eats, whether the orders for one coffee, two, or more. The workers themselves always take an unnecessary amount of time (an hour is not unrealistic for them) to prepare your order. Every time. Without fail.

Worst service ever. None of the employees know how to make any of the drinks, and they're always stoned or something.

I have never had such a bad experience, insects everywhere, flying around the table and in the shelfs were the cookies and cakes were, we advised the staff working there barely did anything after i advised them about the insects, the bathroom are the total opposet of clean and the ceiling had leaked water. This place needs a new manager. Worst coffe shop in Monkland and even in Montereal.

It's a great little coffee shop however it is starting to show its age. The leather arm chairs are starting to peel and the fabric chairs are becoming frayed. The washrooms could use a tidying too.

Seemed like there's always an issue with this location. Nothing wrong with the food and beverages though.

Don’t expect the morning staff (including the manager) to say hello, smile, a thank you or call your order when it’s ready.
The weekend and night staff is another story, they’re much more pleasant.
The bathroom is everything but clean, the plugs don’t work. If they actually want this place to work the whole place needs a revamp and change the morning staff including the manager.

Plagued by flies that were attracted by nearby garbage bin that obviously not been remove for awhile!

Good service, but no internet. I went to go study while enjoying coffee to find out no internet. Had to leave to go to Starbucks instead.

Very unfriendly staff and Manager! Asked for the internet connection and was given a domain of another ship down the street (couldn’t connect)!
When I re-asked I was brushed off and barely spoken too! Do not recommend at all!

Glacial speed of service, indifferent, bordering on rude, staff. Why anyone would want to give up a substantial amount of their time standing in line to buy mediocre coffee, charged at an exorbitant price and served in a paper cup is beyond me.
Second Cup shareholders must be having a good laugh at the victims who willingly give them their time and money in return for forgettable products and service that borders on contempt for the clientèle.

J'ai commandé un café frappé à la vanille, il était bon! Par contre, le café en tant que tel n'est pas chaleureux. La décoration est quasi inexistante, ce qui ne donne pas le goût de rester longtemps. Peut être est-ce parce qu'on est en temps de pandémie?

J'avais l'habitude d'aller à ce café très souvent, mais depuis quelque temps, la qualité a beaucoup diminué. L'endroit a besoin d'être rénové, les toilettes fonctionnent mal et sont sales. Le wifi ne fonctionne qu'une fois sur deux. Le service est très mauvais, les employés sont souvent arrogants et ont l'air de s'en balancer, en particulier une jeune fille blonde qui a vraiment une attitude désagréable. Elle devrait changer d'emploi. J'ai arrêté d'aller là. Il y a un nouveau café qui va ouvrir dans quelques semaines à côté, heureusement.

Espace bruyant causé par le service et leurs amis. Une des vendeuses ne connaît pas le nom de certains produits. Organisation de la salle peu cohérente. En somme, lieu peu convivial.

Revue corrigée car ce magasin est ok excepté. L'état de la sdb, parfois discutable. Content que ce magasin soit encore la quand je constate que le Starbucks à côté à fermé.

On line orders never done.in store orders always made wrong. This second cup has never been good since Alex and Tom left.

Most of the time the internet is not working, the bathroom is locked and some of the staff are not friendly at all!

Bad customer experience, rude, mean people work here. They don't care especially the guy with the dyed white hair and the small girl with big fake eyelashes who even told me to go somewhere else. These two always chase for an argument. I've been a regular customer at this place but now I am avoiding it. Anyway they don't care! From other comments, I see that this is a trend at this place.

Vous allez me dire qu'il faut encourager les commerces indépendants, mais il n'y a aucun café qui puisse me faire un chocolat chaud blanc à saveur de cinnamon bun comme le Second Cup! Sans blague, le café est bon, les employés sont sympas. Que pourriez-vous espérer de plus?

I ordered an iced vanilla latte and when I got in my car and took a sip I got a mouthful of grains and they had forgotten the vanilla. I went back in and showed them all the grains on the bottom and 2 of them rolled their eyes at eachother and looked really annoyed. So the girl made a new one and when I tasted it it was like drinking a bottle of syrup and I felt like she really did it on purpose to mock me. I threw it away and I'm not going back even though it means I have to go several blocks away to the nearest cafe.

The computers were broken so cash only today, which must've been frustrating for the employees but everyone was in good spirits! Friendly customer service!
