Upon arrival, the table was sticky, dissuading me from placing utensils directly on it due to concerns about cleanliness. Despite this, I ordered the pho and deep-fried spring rolls.
Unfortunately, my pho came with an unwelcome guest—a small, deceased fly. My friend also noticed a small fly buzzing around our table, possibly making its way into my soup. While I understand this might be beyond the restaurant's control, the presence of the fly implies a hygiene issue.
To add to our dismay, we discovered a hair fried into our spring roll. This prompted us to voice our complaint, as no one fancies consuming hair. The server's response was surprising; instead of an apology, they retorted, "It's not my hair; I wear a hijab. " This lack of acknowledgment, coupled with an attitude, left us taken aback.
I have no intention of ever returning to this place in my lifetime.
There is a friendly female owner and delicious Vietnamese food. I ate warm Vietnamese rice noodles and spring roll grilled chicken rice and I was so full and delicious! I want to visit again!
Put 20$ on uber eats per pho but serve barely half a portion (only 1 meetball, maybe 2-3 slices of beef, no tendon/cartillage/.). Was served old broth, very cloudy and cold.
I love this place! We were trying Pho restaurants in the area, including the one accross the street (which was a huge disspointment) and Sen Vàng ended up being at the top of my list. The food is really tasty and the service is great. We could even go there with our dog and have a very nice dinner in their outdoor area. Highly recommended!
Pho broth not as good as reviews make you think. Not as rich as other places. But the bon Bo hue was very good, better than most places. What makes me give 1 star was how extremely dirty this place is. Bugs around the tables, dirty bathroom, and an obscene amount of spider webs and dead bugs along the windows behind our table. Please deep clean, it’s uncomfortable.
Sen Vang is one of the best Pho in Montreal. In these times of pandemic it’s hard to transport soup. The menu is reduced but the best spicy soup is still there. I love their Pho and I am a regular. Sony (owner) is one who can pack the take away really well. The spring rolls are fantastic. It’s a perfect lunch on a cold afternoon hop off and pick up the soup and you can heat up the broth at home in case it’s not as hot as you would like it.
Update: By this time the ownership has changed and the Pho is still very good. Now there are a more items on the menu and we hand a wonderful time. The place accepts credit and debit cards now. I would recommend this place.
New owners, so, most probably, new cook. The pho is still pretty good, just not the same as it used to be. Specifically the broth. Last time I went it was just OK. This place used to be in top 3 Pho places in all the Montreal area. Now it's just a decent pho, reasonably priced ($13+tx for a large). And now they accept cards. Still 5 stars.
It's a small restaurant but offers an authentic Vietnamese delicious food. I love bún bò hue (spicy noodles soup) that has a very good taste of lemongrass. Bbq pork is delicious too! Service is quick and professional! It's a must-try restaurant in busy Montreal!
The service is fast and friendly, but the pho itself is sub par. Other than a large amount of noodles, there is barely any meat. The day I went did not even serve any bean sprout. For 17 dollars plus tips, what I had is overpriced.
