The smoke meat is definitely one of the top qualities in Montréal. More tender, more juicy, while less salty than some of other famous deli.

The poutine and smoked meat sandwich were just incredible. Enjoyed chatting with the owner and patrons as well, many of whom have been frequent customers for years. A real gem with amazing food! Thanks for showing a few Texans some great food and hospitality.

Came here with my kids to honour my dad, as this was one of our go-to places as a kid. Smoked meat platters and the Club sandwich was delish. The takeout menu is stuff of Jewish childhood dreams, latkes, knishes, party sandwiches and danishes.do yourself a favour and go. You’ll love the old school deli vibe, all the wonderful food and make new memories with your kids.

Maybe the best Montreal smoked meat sandwich I’ve ever had. Super juicy and tasty meat. Coleslaw was also excellent. Our server was really attentive, too.

Dinner's type Nord américain. Les frite y sont très bonnes et le personnel sympa. Le sandwich pastrami était trop gras mais y il a la possibilité de leur demander de la viande 'maigre' et donc moins grasse.

This place has full of customers. My favorite amongst the smoked meat is smoked corned beef. We didn't dine there coz we're still paranoid of Covid. We just bought. All the smoked meat we bought are yummy!

Best deli in Montreal, bar none. Great and accommodating service even during busy hours (and boy does it get busy), and some of the best Smoked Meat and Brisket in town. Fries are also off the chain, as are the salads and variety of Jewish foods. Don't go to overpriced tourist traps like Schwartz's when you can have a better sandwich for half the price.

We stopped by on our way home. I got smoked meat which were not bad but nothing amazing. Location is a bit out of the way. My daughter has matzo ball soup which she liked. All and all was a decent meal like your typical Jewish deli.

Brisket sandwich is out of this world, worth the drive from Toronto. Less touristy place than Schwartz’s with way better service.

Thé cheeseburger we’re horrible, the staff was not welcoming or smiling. They charged us the tips without asking us. They put 15% more without asking if we wanted. Disappointing.

Lets ignore for a moment the unhealthy and unethical food in this Deli (mostly dead animals). The place is very old, has bad air circulation and is on a highway, so their prices should at least be affordable. I had bagel with cheese and coffee. The waitress charged for each item separately; the total was $10. This is a 40% increase since my last visit, just months earlier. For this sum I could eat a healthy vegan meal. Also, the manager was very rude, when I pointed out the sharp price increase.

I can't remember the last time I was here, but the classic smoked meat sandwich, the potato knishes, and cheese blintzes were as good as ever. Staff was prompt and friendly and even the plexiglass barriers and other changes due to COVID protocols hasn't damped the old school deli feel on a Saturday morning here.

Always great smoked meat every time I come. I would recommend getting the smoked meat platter (6 oz) instead of just the sandwich (4 oz).

A breakfast that did not disappoint!
HUGE portion sizes with quality food used to make the meals. The turkey on the club was fantastic. The bread and bagels were so fresh! Service was quick and efficient and friendly. Pricing was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to this local spot.

Friendly staff, traditional food served as delicious as ever. Smoke meat always satisfying. Hart served me and I wish I could have him sell me everything I need to buy. Nice, thoughtful, and fast without rushing.

Best diner/breakfast/brunch spot in Montreal!

Portions are generous, I ordered pancakes, they come in a set of 2 with the option to have fruit on the side or inside, I opted to have mine made with blueberries. Then there’s the smoked meat Benny, which is delicious! I also liked the Blintz- which are crepe rolls filled with sweet cheese served with blueberry jam and sour cream. This place is just amazing!

Got the smoked meat poutine and the bagel with lox and cream cheese. So delicious tho the gravy was a bit salty but generally a great meal!

We came this evening at 6: 53. Signs says they close at 7pm. All doors were locked. Appeared there were staff inside that did not open the door. Extremely disappointing!

The smoked meat sandwich at Snowdon is always delicious! It's juicy, super tender, and seasoned perfectly. The staff are friendly and helpful at making suggestions. Prices are very reasonable. I'd rather come here any day to get a smoked meat sandwich instead of some of the other over-hyped joints.

Some of the best smoked meat I've tasted in Montreal. Tender, juicy, flavourful yet simple. Very generous with their portions of meat to bread ratio and seasoned to perfection. Staff there were also very friendly.

Great smoked meat and brisket in a diner vibe setting. We ordered for takeout, but they have dine-in until 3pm. Friendly staff that helped me (nonlocal) find the best dish for our tastes

Finally made it here after having thus on my list. Came for breakfast and had their smoked meat poutine with coffee. Pretty good although I found the gravy a hit salty.
Service was very friendly and it had such an old school diner vibe I think that is pretty unique in itself.

We dined at Snowden Deli the other day on a visit to Montreal. We discovered this place several years ago and try to stop in each time we are in town. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t go as well as in the past. Service was good and the smoked meat was fabulous, but we were looking forward to having your yummy hand cut fries as they were a family favourite. This time around, they were soggy and greasy. Almost like they were reheated, which was strange considering the restaurant was full. The portion sizes also seemed smaller than we remember pre-COVID. Not sure if we caught them on an off day, but it was truly disappointing, especially since we were with my brother from out of town and he didn’t see what all our fuss was about having to stop here and have him try your food. We hope for better next time: (

I like fat smoked meat from Schwartz but when I ordered a fat cut at Snowdon deli, I was served with fat and little smoked meat, come on…

I went last year for breakfast and it was good.

This year I went again and I ordered something different an omelette and it was not an omelette! They mixed everything. Horrible presentation in the plate, super super salty.

I should have returned it. It was not good at all. The cooker should take a course of "how to do an omelette" and please don't mix again capers in the eggs that goes separate in the side.

Every time I'm in Montreal, I make certain that I head for Snowdon Deli and pick up a couple medium fat old fashioned smoked meat sandwiches. I eat them both before I leave my parking space.
This trip I also picked up 2 lbs of smoked meat, 2 boxes of Party Sandwiches, a pound of smoked carp and a loaf of rye bread. They even packed it on ice so it would survive the trip to Halifax.
Now I'm hungry again

Hands down the best smoked meat in Montreal. The poutine is great, with a very flavourful gravy and a generous helping of cheese curds. A very friendly, attentive and fast service staff. A must stop in Montreal.

Very pricey compared to the other "famous" smoked meat shop, and not better taste.

This place brings back memories - been going since I was little. The smoked meat sandwiches are divine and I always get a few knishes and kabanos to go. Highly recommend!

I enjoy almost all the food there I love the smoked meat I love their breakfasts, last time I picked up an order they forgot the grilled Karnatsles (don't know how to spell it) which I paid for.

Love this place and very happy to see the team there standing strong in these times.

The service is super efficient, but most importantly, very friendly! The food. It is as amazing as always. I always go here for the smoked meat because is it packed with flavor and juicy.

It was very average. Latke were too soft and not crispy enough. Too little sour cream (4 latke and 2 little catchup cups of sour cream). Brisket sandwich was like eating oil - totally swimming in oil. Was my first time in Montreal and out of all the delis Reuben's was the winner in my books. Went back for a second time. This was very pedestrian but decent.

Strongly recommend it. I don't usually post reviews but am going out of my way to post the review for this one because I enjoyed my breakfast so much. It is not a fancy restaurant but ones you would see in the neighbourhood.

Very flling portion size, friendly and prompt staff, and most of all great food with very affordable price! Paid $13 for 2 egg delux breakfast with crepe and bacon which came with 2 eggs, 3-4 stripes of real dried bacon, huge portion of home fries, two pieces of fruit, 4 pieces of toasts (2 full bread slices), a crepe, and tea. All of us thought there was something wrong with the bill because of the price was so low compared to how much food we had.

I seriously enjoyed every bite of everything I had. Packed the leftovers as I didn't want to regret leaving any food behind. My friend had a smoke meat sandwich and loved it. Another friend had potato latkes and loved it as well. I would love to go back to this place whenever I can. Too bad I did not take any pictures. Parking was available on the street and free on sunday morning until 1 pm.

Great smoked meats with huge portions if you order the platter instead of a sandwich for a little bit of extra $$$ (if you can't finish it, pack it to go). Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very authentic deli and local diner feel. Came here with a friend after being told it was better than Schwartz and did not regret the trek. No lines/wait in comparison as well. I recommend checking out at the front when there is no one waiting to pay as the process can tend to take a while.

Solid medium quality, medium price type of place. Provides a reliable experience with good customer service. This is not a "must-try-if-you-visit" type place, but it's good.

Came in for a smokemeat and fries, it was ready in less then 5 minutes and one of the best I had! An employee also gave me a free Jewish desert to try and it was very good. I will come back for sure.

This place makes a solid smoked meat sandwich that I quite enjoyed. However, I was less impressed with the potato latkes which were very heavy and solid. This place is an institution and worth checking out. The brunch seems to be popular based on the orders of the people we went with.

A Montreal institution with bench tables, they also have a takeout counter. Parking is on Decarie. Service is good and friendly. Smoked meat à la Montréal. Loxs (smoked salmon) on its own or as part of an eggs Benedict. If you've never tried matzo ball soup this is the place. I think they're closed in the evening.

We stop whenever we can for a smoked meat sandwich, bagels, and rugelach. I never tell the children or my husband about the rugelach because I eat a lot before I finish driving home. There is no reason to explain why a box is half empty if I scarf it down before I get home. If I don't finish it that night, I buy a nice coffee and go on a drive the next morning, gobbling the rest of the rugelach. Nobody has hurt feelings! In my mind, my accountant is making me fat because I buy more when I visit him during tax season.

Came here after a day full of walking for hours. Got immediately seated and ordered the smoked meat sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich was so good, I had to order a second one. This deli serves the best smoked meat sandwiches in the world.

Never had a smoked meat sandwich before I went here. So so so GOOD. Highly recommend. The pastries for dessert were excellent as well. Also had good potato pancakes.

This is my favorite smoked meat in Montreal. What sets it apart from the rest is their spicy mustard (which I just found out you can buy jars of on the deli side). The staff are friendly and the service is fast.

An absolutely fantastic deli with friendly staff and absolutely fantastic food. Very well priced for what you get. Portion sizes are definetly big enough to be filling, but if you have a big appetite the sandwich alone might not be enough and it is better to go with a platter.

A lovely place to eat but unfortunately does not have any vegan options. Everyone was so nice and helpful though!

Love this place over any smoke meat/deli place in Montreal.
They open at 6am so you know it’s legit.
I usually order for takeout, get their bread—you have to get their bread, it’s inexplicably soft yet holds the sandwich together all so well.
Dinning in is like a travel back in time, the ladies working there are so nice but also give you that serviceable no bs attitude, it’s so nostalgic, love it.
I can’t recommend this place enough.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant and deli for the past year. The first time we went there, my husband had asked one of the gentleman behind the deli counter if they sold pork. He was extremely offended and told him that they did not have pork whatsoever in this restaurant. Which is fine because we do not eat pork. We trusted them and ever since we've been getting our salami from there.

We went back today and we wanted to order some different style of salami. The other gentleman behind the counter sliced a piece for us to try, while my husband was telling him that we do not eat pork and how we went to a different butcher and they sell pork, and this is why we come to this place. After we had eaten it, he told us that it had pork! We told him that his colleague told us they do not sell pork. He then said that this type of salami has pork in it. We are extremely disappointed that we trusted them for the past year and we were lied to. We will not be going back there.

Amazing little deli right on the Decaire. Went in for some breakfast with the family and was not disappointed in anyway. Great food, big portions for the value, helpful/friendly service in a timely manner. Also the deli counter has so much to offer so you can take home the same awesome food and then some. Will be back soon enough!

Cozy long-standing diner that delivers value for the price. Good smoked meat, though I prefer Schwartz’s.
