Trace came over to secure the railing on an indoor staircase that was a little loose. We were both hoping it would be a small job, the railing simply in need of tightening, but fate had more in store.

It turned out the railing needed a butterfly screw, but one that was especially long. Trace diagnosed the issue, spent perhaps an hour or more on the project, and never hesitated to redo work if he felt it could be improved. I think he spent more time on my project than he had expected, but he didn't rush.

I admire Trace's professionalism, his work ethic, and his persistence. He was also in good spirits, smiling and saying hello to my baby who played nearby. We definitely have more projects lined up in the future for Trace. The South Shore is lucky to have him!

We've had the opportunity to hire Trace to paint our house, repair our fence and gate and disassemble large, heavy furniture and remove it. Courteous, professional, worth every penny and he gets the job right the first time. We highly recommend him.

I had leak in the ceiling of my bathroom. He fixed the ceiling, insulated the pipes and painted the ceiling. He also cleaned the dryer venting pipes. Stacy was polite and on time. He alwaays responded the emails quickly. He worked efficiently. I was happy working with him.

Trace took care of many things in my home: fixing drywall, priming/painting walls, patching gaps in my entrance brick steps, fixing a stuck drain plug, solidifying my patio stairs, re-caulking kitchen and bathroom counters, strengthening my bathroom vanity, etc.

He even took the time to teach me tips and tricks so I can do things myself in the future.

I had several jobs to do at my house that was too big for me or too small to ask to a big company. SSHandyman was the perfect choice for me. We found the South Shore Handyman through a web search. Trace evaluated our job needs and gave us a clear itemized quote for the painting of the rooms on our first floor, hallways and stairwell along with drywall repairs.
He is extremely professional and gives attention to details, all furniture was fully covered and floors protected while he was painting.

Trace always kept us informed on what supplies would be needed and this helped us plan not to over buy mixed colours that could not be returned; his paint estimates were perfect.

I had been trying to find someone to re-shingle my shed roof for almost two after a wind storm in 2020 damaged a large number of shingles. The problem became even more serious after another storm this year.
I found the South Shore Handyman website while looking online for someone to do the job.
I described what I wanted done, sent them a couple of photos and got back a very quick response and a reasonable quote for the work, which I accepted. The shed roof itself is surrounded by a high hedge on two sides and a large pine tree on a third so access was not very convenient. Despite this they did a great job and the new roof looks very professional, I was very pleased with the result and would certainly recommend their services.

Trace repaired our deck's privacy walls that fell over due to wind and old rotting wood. He did a fantastic job and was professional and kind the entire way. We will use his services again in the future and highly recommend him!

I contacted Trace to remove the old roof of our shed and install new sheathing and shingles. Everything was done in a professional manner and I'm very pleased with the end result. Will definitely contact him again in the future.

Trace answered quickly when asked for a quote and was very clear about all the details of the quote. When arriving to do the work he was always there when he said he would be. He did an amazing job, we had to have A Lot of repairs to the walls in 2 rooms along with the painting of wood moldings and the walls. He did a great job. Everything looks amazing. I will definitely use him again to help us finish our home renovation projects.

Trace came to install a collapsible ladder kit in my garage ceiling.
We need to modify the joists and the ladder itself in order to properly and safely deploy. We worked together very pleasantly. He came with a fixed cost deal, on time and did not leave until all was well and clean, although I made a mistake in the plan and he had to find a workaround.
I am happy to have found him as I am sure that I will need further help around the house and it is impossible to find a contractor willing to help

Besides the services checked off above, he also leveled and put in rocks in an area outside of my outdoor storage area so that the door can open and close with ease without sticking on the grass and weeds. He also removed an ancient antenna that was on my roof that was just an eye sore to me. After cleaning the gutters and removing the antenna he sent me pictures of the finished job. I was happy with the results. He will be doing other handy work jobs soon. Glad to find someone who is honest, hard working and fairly priced. Thank you, Trace, great job!

He did a lot of repair work at our daycare over a period of several weeks: put together several play sets; fixed a door jam; painted several spaces, did the landscaping in the court yard; got rid of a hornet's nest and did several other repair jobs.
