We read about Spanel with great reviews but our experience on Sunday was not great. We ordered and 20 minutes after ordering were told we could have the steak crepe without the mushrooms or onions (all the other ingredients). They suggested a different crepe which had spinach and goat cheese and strawberries, they forgot the maple syrup until we were almost done and then charge 4.80 additional for strawberries with a $30 crepe which was mainly spinach and sub par. The service was pretty bad and we were never brought our bill.

Crêpes were a bit too dry for my taste, although the filling was decent. But they have some other delicious stuff on their menu. I tried some from the plates of the people I was eating with and I really liked it. Some spinach thing, some eggs

Great crêpes, everything tasted fresh. Service was a tiny bit slow, but the staff was apologetic and understanding.

To say the experience and THE FOOD was phenomenal would be an understatement. My fiance and I have made it a mission to try crepes in every city we go to. No city even begins to compare to what we had here. My compliments to all the staff. By far the best food I have had.

The best crepe I have eaten in Montreal! We tried both a savoury (Griffintown) and sweet (Nutella banana) crepe. Despite the modest appearance, the crepe itself has the right thickness, softness and crunch with a small hint of buckwheat fragrance. Just order anything you love on your crepe, believe it will all taste fantastic!

We have been to Spanel twice now and this is an amazing little spot that gets very busy on the weekends so make sure to make a reservation. The food and coffee were fabulous so make sure you check out this spot while visiting Montreal ️ The price for crepes was very reasonable compared to other resteraunts.

We came from New Brunswick and we were so happy we chose this place. The atmosphere is great. The food is delicious and the staff we spoke with and who served (Yann, Vong and Lisa) were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We will be back and you should try it too!

J'ai adoré aller manger dans se petit restaurant. On était assis dans un endroit intime. La serveuse était adorable. Et ils ont un choix incroyable. En plus, les crêpes sont sans gluten! Ce restaurant est mon coup de coeur de 2022. Je recommande sans hésiter.

The owner and servers are super nice. I ordered a hot chocolate for my son and latte for myself, which was too bitter. We couldn't drink it even after putting extra milk in (they make their dark chocolate in-house). The owner removed the 2 drink items from my bill and asked why I did not like it. This demonstrated that he appreciated feedback on his items and strives for good quality of his food and beverages and, most importantly, customer satisfaction. He is such a nice and humble person. The food was delicious. Thank you so much!

This place is pure love! Crepe is really good especially the Italian- arugula, prosciutto, cheese. Heavenly delicious!

Really the best croissants I have ever had, in Montreal, Toronto, France, or Spain. And the crepe with their own ham (number one on the menu) was spectacular.

Very cute spot and it's very nice to sit on the shaded patio in the back. Prices are good. Had the chocacao crepes and they were great! Maybe a bit too much whip cream. The service was terrible though! Took 30 minutes to be able to order. Coffee only came 30 minutes later and then it took an extra 6 minutes to get the milk for the coffee

One of my fav gluten free spots! Portions are amazing for the price I always get the Atwater (around 15$) and usually I'm full for the day! The coffee is really good too, with a nice subtle fruity/sweet flavor that goes well with the good.

Looked good on paper, but was quite ordinary, not to say bland. I got there Friday for lunch. Very chaotic and unprofessional from the start. The restaurant looked good and empty, the lady in front of the house cannot multitask. Waited at least 5 minutes in the entrance while she was processing a take out order. Finally, I got a table on the front patio and fortunately I did check the menu beforehand so I ordered right away mentioning that I was starving and had 1 hour for lunch. Got a glass of water pretty fast, could not place my order as I had to wait for that completely disorganized front of house lady to place my order.and 15 minutes in I get a glass of wine. Then waited another 30 minutes for the crèpe. It looks like you get better service if you order to take out, as I saw a group of people that arrived after me leaving before I even got my food.
The Petite Bourgogne was a savory crèpe consisting of sliced apple with the skin, emmental cheese, lots of fresh baby spinach, bacon, a sort of sauce (not a bechamel) with onions in it. The whole thing was pretty boring looking and bland. The apples were slightly cooked so the skin is irrelevant and impossible to eat.chunky cubes would be nice. The spinach, even if there was plenty, was clean but had too many stems, just taken out of a bag. A blue cheese would have added much needed punch and ditch the bacon for pancetta or anything other fancy cured french ham of sort.
$29 including a glass of decent Sauvignon blanc, tx and tip. This was a cheap deal but sorry, not for me.

Had the best Cafe Americano I've ever had here. Fantastic breakfast that the whole family loved which is a rarity. Certainly a must visit stop for any tourist, highly recommend.

I have tried different buckwheat crepes from their menu.hard to choose but my favourite is the Vieux.
It gets very busy and chaotic, go early or during weekdays!

Spanel is one of the best creperies I've ever been to. The service was friendly and very accommodating. We asked for an extra plate so we could split our crepes, and they instead came split and presented as if they were two separate meals, which was exceptional. We split the savory PSC crepe which was an impeccably balanced mix of strawberries, spinach, goat cheese, and balsamic caramel sauce. For dessert, we split a Martinquaise. This may be the single best dessert I have ever tasted. The flambeed banana in rum was so rich and unique, and was perfectly complimented by the vanilla ice cream and delicious salted butter caramel sauce. Cannot recommend this creperie highly enough!

Small shop feel with huge crepe flavor, this spot has all the best savory crepes in Montreal. We had the petit italie with prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, goat cheese and balsamic glaze that was phenomenal. As well as the Rosemont with chicken and ratatouille with sharp cheddar cheese. The chefs seem to enjoy their crepe-making and everyone is very friendly. Strong recommendation.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants but it has lost its luster. Now it's very pricey, the crepes are much smaller and for whatever reason they have a very hard time serving a hot cup of coffee. Very expensive little muffins. Not very customer service oriented. You would think that with the stiff competition they would try to keep the clients they have but no at this place. Very disappointed to say the least. 3 strikes and you are out!

Food is very good. Had the Maisonneuve crepe (fresh, flavorful and healthy) and the mont royale (filling, meaty, but balanced flavor) along with lattes.
We ordered dine in, but left after a few minutes because the dining area filled up quickly after we arrived with very little space between clients and tables. There are 6 tables in the small area (same setup as pre COVID) and all 6 were full. I had someone at another table just a few inches behind my chair, in a small semi enclosed indoor space. We took our food to go instead. We were disappointed not to be able to enjoy the restaurant.
So good food but if you are concerned about following the COVID regulations, probably stick to takeout.

If you are looking for great crepes in the city, this spot in Little Burgundy is definitely worth the visit. From sweet to savoury, you won’t be disappointed. We enjoyed the Griffintown, ham, caramelized apples, and cheddar -delicious! Staff is also friendly and accommodating!

I came here starving, but left hungry! The whole experience was awkward, the layout, the ordering process, THE WAITING! We ordered at 13: 15 sat down at 13: 20 and were still waiting for our crepes at 13: 45! The waitress came over to see us after the customers who walked in AFTER us had finished their meal! She said she thought we had not ordered and were just sitting. Then she went to make sure they were preparing our food and 10 minutes later they were not yet done! We decided to walk out at that point, very disappointing.

Holy crepe! ;) The best crepes ever! Great coffee. I came here in a group of 7 around 1pm and though they were really busy, we were seated within a few minutes. My kids enjoyed their Hot Chocolate and "Chocacao" crepes full of the classic goodness of Nutella, strawberries, creme fraiche, and chocolate sauce. Then, I was super impressed with my literally green and savory "Masonneuve" crepe of spinach, asparagus, avocado, and pesto. The crepes here are perfectly thin and just the right texture. With excellent food, drinks, and service here, I'll definitely give myself the crepes. ;)

This is the trashiest place to buy crepe! They put ice cream on a crepe that is to go. The whole thing was a mess by the time it was delivered. Never never buy crepe there. As you can imagine, we had to throw it away. The crepe was already so soggy

Excellent gluten free crepes, and the coffee was awesome, we ordered a coffee latte and matcha latte. The patio on the back was really nice, with about a third of it shaded and with plants around.

Had the Quebecoise, crepe with fruits, delicious. Bought a banana and raisins muffin to go, yummy! Great service with a smile.

This is the first time when I write a review on a restaurant. My friends and I went yesterday, we were 4 in total, arrived at 10, had breakfast which came pretty late but we understood, didn't complain. At 11.45 another waiter told us we should leave at 12 as they have a reservation. Normally in any place clients are told since the arrival if there is a reservation at the same table. We weren't told. At 12 we paid, waitress did a mistake on the bill. We were waiting for her to bring the correct one. In the meantime the other waiter is reminding in a very rude way that we have to leave. There were other people who came before us and they weren't rushed. No one apologized. Very rude service. Breakfast is also mediocre.

This place is amazing for brunch! Really good choices, mostly buckwheat crepes prepared the same as in Brittany!

The savory crêpes are named after Montreal's various burrows, they also taste great. The outdoor patio in the back is very nice and overhanging tree adds a fresh green natural feel.

Great coffee (from espresso machine, the filtered one is just meh of course), and really good buckwheat crepes. I had the Ile des soeurs with chorizo and really enjoyed it. I tried the sweet crepes my friends got.those weren't that good though. Lovely setting and cute terrace at the back.

Had the Westmount and it was perfect. Our busboy completely forgot to get what I asked him for despite him even asking me to repeat, but our waitress was great. Nice terrasse in the back.

Je viens tout juste de recevoir ma commande et je suis vraiment déçue. J'en reviens pas que j'ai payé 15$ (taxes et livraison non incluse) pour une simple galette avec 2 morceaux de bacon, 1 pomme et des oignons (j'ai demandé sans épinard). Pas de salade, de fruits, de patates ni même de sirop d'érable. La galette est froide, pas tiède, froide. Elle goûte correcte, mais en même temps c'est quelque chose d'assez difficile à rater. Le mini smoothie à 4$ n'est pas tant mieux. Ça goûte la banane et le jus d'orange. Je me sens flouée. Je ne commanderai plus là, c'est certain!

Tried this place when we were on a trip to Montreal and was craving some crepe. This place is absolutely amazing the crepe is probably the best I have had in my life. I ordered the Belgium chocolate with strawberries.it was a bit pricey but with the quality of food and service I am not complaining.we sat out on the patio whichwas amazing. Over all amazing experience
