Sparta Chicken

Sparta Chicken is my new go-to spot for mouthwatering grilled chicken in Montreal! From the moment you walk into this cozy restaurant, you know you're in for a delicious meal.

The sides are also stand-outs, from the crisp and well-salted fries to the light and tangy Greek salad. Portion sizes are generous for the very reasonable prices. Beyond the food, the quick and friendly service really completes the enjoyable dining experience at Sparta Chicken.

Dirty place inside and outside, so you cam imagine how they prepare the food. Filthy management. Not what it used to be few years ago

New location full of junkies outside. Inside filled with cigarette smell from people smoking outside. Going there for 11 years and this time was the last time. The quality of food and taste has dropped dramatically. It's not what it used to be.

The chicken is simply delicious i would recommend and definitely go back. My only issue is that my 19$ cesar salad arrived hotter then the chicken and it was a small instead of large. Despite this one time error this will definitely not be the last time we order ther, did i mention the chicken was REALLY GOOD?

This location was home to one of my favorite restaurants which sadly closed. So when I was looking for some good Greek food, which is surprisingly not common in the area, I was happy to see this place had taken over from one of my previous favorites. And the good news is that the food is very good here. They have a slightly different take on the pita souvlaki than other places I've been to in Montreal. A thinner pita, wrapped tightly and the option of having it a little spicy (quite mild though). The fries were also really good and the price was great. So I'll surely be back soon.

I love the spicy chicken here, but it's quite inconsistent when you order takeout. Sometimes it's juicy, spicy, with a chargrilled flavor, sometimes it's very dry, tough and badly seasoned. The tzaziki is good, but sometimes I get a small when I ordered a large. If this place were more consistent, it would be 5 stars.

Great food, very nice spices, the greek salad is good but the other one (I believe Cesar) is lacking.

Chicken is really good, lots of herb but they always forget my tzatziki sauce. I was lucky the first time as i could refund the missing tzatziki via uber eats. I went to the restaurant for a take out and still forgot the large tzaziki i ordered. Unfortunately i only found out i was missing tzaziki sauce when i got home.

Incroyable. Le meilleur de Montréal et j’ai goûté à piri piri, et Romados qui selon moi sont au top du top, would eat every day mais c’est loin de chez moi

Le pita au poulet était délicieux mais un peu gras.le lieux manque d'une mise en point sur la déco malgré que la place es grande et que le tout a du potentiel.le gérant est gentil et accueillant ou c'était qu'on a eu la chance d'une bonne journée.

Garbage food fries was so oily was not even fully cooked dirty restaurant dirty washroom and no customers service menu was so blow the average looks like you living in 1930 not recommended at all

This was damn good!
It has to be the most tender grilled chicken I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly!
I really enjoyed the lemony flavour of the sauce (which I'm assuming is their signature sauce), but I feel that it could have used some sweetness because it was a bit too tart for me.
It was also very salty. I'd recommend eating it with some tzatziki to balance out the flavours.
But the fact it didn't have to ask for extra sauce on the chicken since it already came drowned in it is what really impressed me!
They have a very straightforward menu - chicken, fries, salad and pita. Though I'll admit their fries and pita look very tasty, so I'll give them a shot when I visit this restaurant again!

Overall, I'd highly recommend this place if you love delicious chicken with a lemony twist.

The food was excellent and extremely delicious. Ordered two of the half chicken trios and the chicken was extremely juicy and tender, as well as seasoned perfectly. The owner is a super nice guy and was very welcoming. Will visit again the next time I come to mtl

What happened to the old fries? !? They were so damn good, and a big reason why this place was amazing.

I heard they changed ownership, if this is the case why change a winning recipe!

The man at the cash has good customer service. Food is good and as I was leaving, I wanted to buy water but he gave it to me for free. I'll be back.

The chicken sandwich is my favourite, spiced so well, chicken always tastes great, love the spicy kick, and the pita is always just right. Thank you for consistently providing the same lovely experience.

Where to start?
Well, customer service way below average Thats doesn’t mean they were rude, but they lack customer service skills and professionalism. The place need a lot of cleaning and organizing. Kitchen looks very messy, washroom were very very dirty with no hand soap. Place definitely need more lighting. You need a better quality utensils, you can’t eat chicken with cheap utensils. Menu need to be studied, its missing a lot of things to be better. This restaurant has a huge potential to grow and expand, but not with the existing management.
Lets talk about the food now. I really like the concept and i like to see it grow, but i didn’t really like the food. They took 10 to prepare the food, 1 1/2 chicken trio and a chicken salad, which is great but the inside of the 1/2 chicken wasn’t cooked properly and was cold which is disappointing. Chicken salad and fries were okay. I may give them another try in few months from now.

The great: I am obsessed with the food. I love the spice blends they use. Its a small menu, but a menu done well. I cant stop eating the chicken and fries with whatever that lemon butter sauce is they pour on it, it's just great. The portion is nice and big too. Big hunk of chicken, big pile of fries. No complaints there.

My criticisms: I do wish the interior of this place was a bit nicer. There's wallpaper falling off the walls, it definitely has a. "hole in the wall" type of food joint feeling. You don't go there for the aesthetics, thats for sure.
I also wish they had better forks and knives. It's a challenge eating bone-in chicken with the plastic cutlery they have, on too-tiny paper plates. It's so flimsy and just bends when you use them. Consider bringing your own!

One of the finest places to try Greek food. Have been going here for the last 8 years. The taste has been consistent but the size of the chicken has been going south.

Really good quality grilled chicken! They give big portions for a fair price compared to other places. The service is quick too.

Great flavors to the chicken. Generous portions and reasonably priced. A must for those crave Greek food! Also, it is HALAL.

It's an amazing restaurant. The food is greaaaaaat and is affordable. The environment is cool. I love the employees. They are amaziiiiiiiing. Really entertaining folks.

Ordered the chicken souvlaki on a pita and a large Greek salad. Everything was well spiced, fresh and the portions were generous. The owner was friendly and sociable and the restaurant is open a little later than others which helps when your craving a late snack or dinner is running late. Sparta's is a local favorite place for lunch. Unrivalled in the area. Everyone at work who likes spicy loves their spicy chicken. Great fast service. I am salivating as I write this review.

The chicken and fries were super good. Very flavourful chicken, I was very impressed. Although there weren’t a lot of choices, what they did have was enjoyable so I can’t complain.

Some of the best food at an absurdly good price in the area. I wish they were open for lunch all the time, the Chicken Souvlakia Pita Trio is the perfect lunch. The fries are also some of the best fries you’ll probably taste, the seasoning is absolutely perfect. Absolutely recommend giving them a try, very friendly staff also!

I don't often write reviews, but this place earned it. I'm a big fan of grilled chicken in general, but these guys changed the game for me. I saw Sparta on Golo and decided to give it a try. To say I was not disappointed would be an understatement. This chicken is like a flavor explosion. It's spicy, citrusy, with that grilled flavor and much more I can't even describe. Just amazing. I don't think I've ever had grilled chicken this good in Montreal or anywhere (and this was delivery). I would give this place 6 stars if I had the option. Thank you for being amazing at what you do. I'll be ordering again real soon!

Sparta is straight up the best chicken in town.man, it’s good.amazing people as well! Whether it’s take-out, eating at the restaurant, or ordering on UberEats, these guys consistently excel, love it!

Favourite chicken souvlaki in town.

Well seasoned and tender chicken, not over-the-top with the tzatziki, and not an overbearing garlic flavour.

We chose this place because of all the great reviews and didn't regret it. We were not too surprised that it looked a bit like the kebab places we're used to. We ordered souvlaki in a pita (which comes with fries) and Caesar salads with grilled chicken. As we had arrived around 1: 10 pm the owner warned us we'd have to eat fast as he had to close the restaurant at 1: 30 pm. That's something you need to know if you are used to restaurants closing at 2: 00 pm. Service was super-fast so we still had the time to enjoy the tasty and moist chicken. I especially loved the flavor of oregano in the marinade. I couldn't have enough of it. The portions were more than generous (by French standards at least!) and we took away what was left of our fries. The owner was chatty and very friendly. Check out Sparta's if you are visiting Montréal!

I wish that I could rate it more than once, the owner is a very nice guy, and you'll always see him in there taking care of every single detail, plus a he greets you with a smile. On top of that, you'll love the half chicken trio, whether spicy or the regular one.
